Property Ratings at Rutherford Heights
Today, I received a memo on my apartment door there will be a state inspection on June 19, 20 & 21 for the apartments. There will also be a pre-inspection on June 7th through June 11. I am very uncomfortable with strangers coming to check my apartment when I am not home. I called and spoke to the super to ask what day will they come to check my apartment as I would take the day off from work so I can be here. He said it could be any day. It makes no sense to me how they do not know what apartments the will check on what day. I know there are a lot of housewives that don’t work but for the tenants that do work and want to be in the apartment while strangers are checking them they should be corporative and work with them. I spoke with other tenants who are very uncomfortable with this. When the advertise these apartments the advertise the have washing machine and dryers they NEVER work.
We left in 2014 due to mice and roaches. No matter how much we cleaned, neighbors kept the pests coming. I do not miss the strong odor of curry. I do not miss fighting for machine in laundry room. I do not miss the unassigned parking spaces during the winter. I sincerely hope the complex is better now, especially since the rent has increased. Good Luck!
Pros: Nice neighborhood with great location (supermarket and liquor store a block away, CVS is 3 blocks away, bowling alley right across the street, 20 minutes into the city via car, bus stop is a block away and it'll take you right into the city, train station is a couple miles away, near most major highways including 21, 3, 80, 17). Maintenance is fairly responsive. Laundry facility onsite, not in the apartment tho. No pests like rats or roaches. Cons: Overpriced apartment. Can't paint your apartment. Not a lot of closet space or storage options. Kitchen also lacks adequate cabinet space. No central air, which is murder during the summer. Horrible placement of the a.c. unit in the wall (right under the living room windows)severely limits your ability to place furniture or use curtains. No lighting in the bedroom or living room, only the kitchen, bathroom and a badly placed dining room. Small bathroom, no counter space. Other things to note: Lease says no pets but most people have them and it doesn't prove to be a problem. Parking is pretty good. Even if you have guests over, they'll never have to walk more than a couple of blocks.
No hot water,ac not work, mouses, was in my front door and they never take care. Actually they just turn off the water.
