As Westchester County's oldest settlement, the city of Rye can trace its history back to 1660. The settlement was named for Rye, England in 1665 as part of Connecticut. In 1683, the town was ceded to New York against the settler's wishes as a gift from King Charles II to his brother, the Duke of York. The settlers rebelled and tried to rejoin Connecticut, but it was officially established as part of New York by royal decree. Today, this beautiful community is one of the nation's most expensive areas to purchase real estate with the average home selling for more than $2 million.
Rye still retains its historical charm in its architecture, stone walls, and shady narrow lanes. Rye is a harbor town, stretched along the Long Island Sound and offering one of the state's prettiest beaches -- Rye Town Park and Beach. With its Spanish-style buildings dating to around 1907, this historic park and public beach features a bath house, picnic shelters, and a restaurant dating to 1910.

Property Ratings at Rye Village Apartments
I've been vert happy here! The main reason is because of Dilyana. She is very professional and listens very well to the tenants needs. I had an issue in my apartment and it was taken care of immediately. I'm very happy here. This is my 2nd year here andI plan to stay here for the foreseeable future. It's a quiet community. A+++.

Mike, we love to hear when our team members exceed expectations. I'm happy that you are loving Rye Village and the hard working staff who are here to make you feel at home each and every time you pull into the driveway!
This property is in a great location and the apartments are spacious, the area is generally quiet. However, the new management and ownership have really ruined the experience. They have increased rents quite a bit year by year, yet the quality of service, cleanliness, and responsiveness have gone down. There are rodent and insect issues, depending on which building you are in. And they simply do not handle issues. The washer/ dryers are ancient and haven't been cleaned in a long time. Some of the buildings smell bad depending on the day and weather. All of their service vendors are different and worse than previous management. This used to be a great place to live. The issue is there are limited options in Rye, and they know they will always be able to fill this place up. So I am not happy, but I'm sure they will never have an issue renting out my place when I leave. In my opinion, they will only do the bare minimum to keep this place afloat. Unless you have an emergency you will not hear back in a timely manner.

We appreciate your honest feedback regarding Rye Village. We completely agree that the location and apartments at Rye are exceptional, but we also understand your apprehension to the rent increases the current rental market is experiencing at this time. Although we try to stay competitive in the marketplace, we also make sure to analyze many market conditions before pricing our apartments and unfortunately, we cannot please everyone's budget with our pricing. Thank you for your feedback regarding the maintenance issues. We will discuss this with our senior maintenance leaders so we can continue to improve in the future. Understanding your experiences at Rye Village is important to us and we value you taking the time to review us. Thank you.
Have lived here for a little over 4 years. I love my large and sunny apartment and the great parking! Proximity to restaurants, bars, beach, Rye metro is wonderful. Here are the downsides: Maintenance is not what it was with our former management. We used to have landscapers clean up our areas every Monday morning like clockwork. Now under new management, it seems to happen at random. Results are ratty lawns, dirty hallways, basements, etc.. You have to harass property management with multiple phone calls, etc.. in order to get a response. If you're going to call yourself "Luxury" by all means, make sure you look and act like luxury. These buildings were built in the 1940s, therefore very squeaky floors and moldy bathrooms. Super thin ceilings/floors. Some brilliant person thought it was a good idea to have townhouses above and single person units below. You can hear and feel everything your neighbor above you is saying or doing. If they're on their stairs, it feels like the earth is about to explode. I've had to train myself to get used to it because I love the neighborhood. Still deciding on whether I will renew next year. However, these are what you can expect if you decide to live here. Good luck!

Thank you for your response and input, we always appreciate resident feedback. As you know we have a live-in superintendent to handle the maintenance needs of residents 24/7, and we also have weekly landscaping performed through the spring, summer and fall. We apologize if there was a missed week due to weather or if the conditions are not up to your standards, we will take a close look at this asap. Also we hope you noticed the upgrades to the basement since the property was purchased, including the complete clean out of all basement areas, painting, new floors, and upgrades in the community laundry facilities. If you have any other concerns please feel free to reach out to our on-site office, which is also new since the transfer of ownership, which is open 6-days per week. Sincerely, Rye Village Team
Additional onsite staff seem to be needed to handle service requests of individual tenants while also dealing with building-level conditions/problems (water and boilers). . Onsite personnel seem to be hampered by "upper management" in responding to some requests.
No return calls, no return text messages. Do not live here.

Overall so far this is a very nice community to live in. I couldnt be happier. The staff is great. Dilyana and maintenance guy are very professional. Great team! Michael Santosusso
Although I would have recommended Rye Village under previous ownership/ management, I can no longer do so, because (a) there is no on-site super, and (b) property (buildings and grounds) is no longer properly or routinely maintained.
Excellent school district. Very safe community. Your children can walk around the neighborhood without much worries. Great library and Nature Center. Close to restaurants and shopping. Easy access to highway. Close to medical facilities.
Great location, and proximity to main street. Poor Maintenance
Rye Village has been through such a transition over the past few years. I will say that our new Super and Jennell have influenced me with their concern and follow through so much to the fact that I re-new my lease and continue to stay here. We have a unique little community here and Winn Residential have truly seen and embraced that. While I'm sure all their properties are different and unique - they make me really feel at home here.
My ten years as a resident have been quite satisfactory. Im here usually four months as I go to my summer home and Florida in the winter.
Lovely living space with large closets and excellent parking
great place to live ....large apartments....nice residents
Location is good. Parking is great. Maintenance needs more attention.
existe una excelente relacion con los vecinos de comunidad y ademas la atencion del staff es excelente
i have been a tenant for ten years and I find the community to be very quiet and friendly. The new management has done an excellent job in maintaining the quality of life as best they can. I am very pleased with how the trash rooms are dealt with on a daily basis.
Beautiful spacious apartments. Plenty of free parking, Dogs welcome.
Great location and the apartments have a nice space.
