Property Ratings at Salem Harbour
Apartment set up and design is ok and acceptable but the property is not maintained well. Entry ways are dirty and bug infested which then leads to bugs getting into the apartments. Maintenance is slow to respond and generally just seem annoyed if they have to do their jobs. Most issues aren’t resolved the first time… typically takes 2 or 3 visits or two weeks sometimes to have issues addressed. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re currently looking. Will be happy when I can get out of here

A great place to live with really nice, spacious apartments. I would probably still be there if parking wasn’t absolutely insane. My apartment was in Regis court and I had to move out in August because I was tired of never having a spot. I only have one car and the same cars would never move and some people had three or four that just sat there without stickers. It’s a real pain when you have groceries and things to bring in or bad weather. Maybe another lot is better but if you drive avoid Regis court at all cost, you’ll thank me later.
I currently have 4 men in my apartment soaking up water from the recent rain. It not only came through my sliders into the living room, but through the back door into the kitchen, ruining everything that was stored on the closet floor. We had the same situation in September, and nothing was done to prevent the water today. The rain water brought the mud from the outside and I hope that my rugs will cleaned this time. The crew is quite busy, as this seems to be a problem all over the development. Can't wait until my lease is up; this was a terrible choice.

My son lives there and he loves it I have visited a few times now and I liked the environment and the apartment it self is lovely. I do not like the fact you have to have regular cable and can not get any thing with a satalite

Hi Salem Harbour. I’ve lived at your complex for four years now. I paid rent on time and no one ever complained about me. I like this place. Your handling of a maintenance request that my wife put in 13 days ago now is beyond poor. It is completely unacceptable and beyond any reason. Zero communication and complete disregard for our request. We called numerous times and every time it’s another lie. They take complete advantage of nice people who pay rent on time. STAY AWAY!
Nancy P BW, I regret not sending this review sooner. From the day I looked at their sample apartment, Nick has been the absolutely very best ambassador to these apartments. He walked me through any question from day one to now. I have been here for just short of one year, and just recently renewed my lease. When I met Nick the first day, by luck of the draw, I had some fairly serious injuries from an accident. He was patient, explained everything, often more than once, and showed extreme diligence. He didn't just leave me after signing my lease, but has continued to respond to any thing that may come up. Thank you Nick for all that you do, to make my stay here, a 'home'. PS I have a rather large dog who just loves Nick. Nick and the staff make her feel like family. Much appreciated.
Beautiful location on the Delaware river. Nice amenities. Have only been here for a short time but very happy. Management is receptive to needs and suggestions. A recent request was handled rapidly and efficiently by Kevin and Dia - very friendly, courteous and professional. Thank you, Dia and Kevin.
I have only lived here for about 6 months but I love living here. I live in Gate House and the apartment is great. There has been only two issues, nothing that big of a deal, before they were corrected; needing something corrected and having to wait a little bit for it to be corrected is very understandable if you consider the size of the development. (I corrected both myself, not saying that they wouldn't correct them but I am a perfectionist). The place is like a resort and I am very happy to live here. My neighbors, the few that I've met, are all very nice, mostly older people, and like one of the reviews said, you really don't see anyone; it's like you have the whole building to yourself. I also want to say that the place is very well taken care of, the carpets are vacuumed and even steam cleaned often. The only problem is the restriction of one parking space. The management staff are very courteous and friendly, I can't imagine anyone having a problem with them to be honest; I don't think they could be nicer if they tried. I would move here again in a heartbeat. The units are a little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for, if you're lucky, lol. But in all honestly, I would hope that people who are decent and respectful would consider moving here because it is really a nice place to live, all others will hopefully look elsewhere.
I have been here for about 4 years. Although there are some issues, for the most part this is a good place to live. The cost of the apartments are better than most in the areas. the fact that washer/dryer is included with the rent, free cable, no charge for trash, free parking, pool, clubhouse, this is great. the management office people are pleasant. Maintenance has improved so much for the better. My requests are responded in a timely manner unless it is something that due to weather cannot be fixed right away. And the fact that we are near the Delaware River with such a great view!!!!!! Come and see for yourself.
Salem Harbour exceeded my expectations. I have lived here for over 2 years. I can say without a doubt, it was one of the best decisions I made. Most things you will read on the internet will be negative about most places people go to, eat see, or live. I came here with fully knowing that I will be in an apartment setting and would have some adjustment from a private residence. Well, I am a happy resident of Salem Harbour and very fortunate that those who live in my building are conscientious of others. Apartments are designed perfectly for what I was looking for. Very roomy. Most closet space ever. Pool Team are always eager to help you. Being able to take leisurely walks around the perimeter while enjoying the river front setting...for me is priceless. Here's to many many more years at SH!
I moved into the Gatehouse building of Salem Harbour in April. I must say I love it. The apartments are huge, bigger than any others in the area, the walls are concrete (I've never heard my neighbors EVER), and there's an elevator! My building (Gatehouse) is like a small family, one of my neighbors even left a cute little doormat in front of my door for the holidays. It's perfect for older people that are retired (they have community activities) or families. I feel like I live in a resort. The maintenance staff responses quickly and efficiently. There are never parking issues. I barely see my neighbors but when I do they are so nice. Moving here was one of the best decisions that I've made. I must admit it's a little pricey but well worth it especially if you have a school aged child. I'd rather spend the extra money on housing than private school.
Very bad experience!! I almost stayed 2 years and I was on month to month basics. It was 90 days notice period. I went on 5 December and they said your moving out day will be March End. Guy name Kevin told us that you can come and give notice before 90 days. Also requested in maintance to change blinds for patio from last 3 months they never showed up. I am not recommending this apartments to anyone.
There is nothing luxury about living here, the grounds are never taken care of and the gates are broken with caution tape. We went without Air conditioning for an entire summer yet still had $400 Electric bill ? Oven broke on Thanksgiving because they never gave us a new oven when we moved in. It has now been 5 days and we still have no oven. My husband called the office and as usual they were condescending and rude and refused to fix our oven just like they refused to fix our Air Conditioning all summer. The office staff do not work and when you call they are very rude and nasty. They also refuse to fix anything in the apartments. Funny how they do not hesitate to tack on $50 late charges if you are a minute late with your rent, but they do not take the time nor think it is their job to upkeep the grounds and the apartments. For the money you will pay here you could have a beautiful home instead. Do not move in here!! We are stuck and pay so much money that we cannot afford to move out :(
QUITE, GROUNDS KEPT VERY NICE & GREAT SWIMMING POOL MAINTENANCE VERY GOOD
I LOVE my apartment AND the management staff at Salem Harbor Apartments!!! My apartment is well designed, comfortable, reasonably priced and on the Delaware River... What more could I ask for? There's gold' a gym, a pool, and a nice walking, jogging path. The management staff is wonderful! Always available to he and they really dare about the residents. There are monthly activities and a newsletter each month. Salam Harbor is the best apartment complex I have ever lived at !,,
My wife moved into Salem Harbour in December 2013. It is now September 2015 and we are about to renew our lease for another year. Why? We love it at Salem Harbour. The convenience and the amenities are key for us. I work in Center City Philly and my wife works a few minutes down the road. Salem Harbour offers a shuttle to the Torresdale train station which makes my commute that much easier. The apartments are nice and spacious. The grounds are kept very nice. Having the golf course, tennis courts and proximity to the river makes things just that much better. We highly recommend moving to Salem Harbour. Especially if you work in the city.
Doesn't even feel like an apartment. I read reviews but if you have a house there are going to be issues too, so I have to say Salem Harbor is a great place to live. Always nice, helpful and clean!!! The view of the river is breath taken!!
Nice, spacious and updated apartments with all the amenities! Luxury apartments with washer and dryers in every unit. Shuttle bus everyday to and from the train, 9 hole golf course and marina. And to top it all off a Olympic size swimming pool that overlooks the river, just gorgeous! Everything you've been looking for!
POOLS NICE, BUT THE RENT IS EXPENSIVE. MAINTENANCE CHARGES YOU FOR EVERYTHING. THERE'S ALMOST NEVER ANY PARKING. THEY TOWE YOUR CAR AWAY WHEN THERE CUTTING DOWN TREES. YOU HAVE TO PAY 45$ TO GET IT BACK! IT JUST ISN'T WORTH IT.
Nice grounds large pool overlooking the river boat dock available. Closet space is ample. Maintenance crew friendly and reliable. Central air units are old and outdated and require yearly fixing but work well when issues are taken care of. the neighbors tend to be quiet and thoughtful. Lived here 4 yrs
I have lived here for over 5 years now and at the time I moved in the $1485 a month for rent on a 2br 1 bath was worth it with the amenities ( pool, golf course, Mariana, tennis court , 24 hr maintenance etc.) but recently the management has been changed and the complex seems to have gone downhill. The pool gets closed during hours it is scheduled to be open for no given reason you are just asked to leave. The 24 hr maintenance when I first moved in would be at ur apartment within 24 hours to fix any reported problem and there immediately if it was an emergency. During this years heat wave my central air unit broke ( for the second time that summer) it took them three days to fix it for me and over 24 hours to even show up to my apartment to look at the unit to realize it was broken and had to order a new one. Plenty more I could rant on about, my advice would be move anywhere but here.
This is a very decent apartment complex in terms of its amenities and location. Just a 10-minute walk from the SEPTA, you are only 30 minutes away from Center City. The size of the apartments are pretty big.
What could be more relaxing after a long and tiring workday than a beautifiul resort apartment by the Delaware River. That is what Salem Harbour is for its residents. The apartments are spacious, quiet and friendly. There is a pool. tennis court, nine hole golf course and beautiful boat dock harbor on the grounds! The staff is more than wiling to help and have great pool parties and classes for the residents. We have been here twelve years and it feels like yesterday! Come and take a lovely walk on the splendid grounds and see if you don't agree. Who knows, maybe we'll see YOU there!
I have been a resident at Salem Harbour for a number of years. I have to say, that unlike the constant rising rents, the service, the mangement office and the grounds are declining. I have contacted the office about our dumpster, used to be two, now one. This is for over 16 apartments to use. They are constantly over filled. The garbage that lays on the ground is never cleaned up. A rat has been seen running from behind it. The enclosure has a pile of glass that has been there over a month, the weeds are almost two feet tall. After the non residents are done dumping in it, once an entire apartment looks like it was dumped. The before mentioned glass was a result of that. For such high rents, to me, this is unacceptable. I have expressed this and other issues to the office a couple of times now. There has not been word one in response. I was proud and happy to live here, not the case any more
They have a disrespectful maintenance worker there and does not care about personal privacy.
This complex looks and sounds great online and in theory. Here's our experience though: we were shown a model apartment that looked nothing like the actual apartment we got, and we were told we could not see our apartment until move-in day because it wouldn't be ready until then. When we moved in, we saw outlets that were not flush to the wall, uneven ceilings and windows that leaked TERRIBLY. We moved in in August and our windows did not get replaced until MID-JANUARY even though we notified the office that our windows were practically falling out in October. I am not exaggerating. When the window installers finally came they pretty much pushed our windows out with a finger or two when they came to replace them. In addition, there are COCKROACHES here. I called the office over a week ago and asked to be added to the extermination list. They said someone would be out the next day, but then called my husband and said the exterminator wouldn't be out after all. They told us the exterminator would come this week as well and then cancelled again. When my husband spoke with them tonight, they admitted that the exterminator hasn't been here in three weeks because the office hasn't settled their account with the exterminator. When they know they have a cockroach problem. Finally, tonight we came home to a "final notice" stating that we owe the management company $75 ($25 being past due with a $50 late fee). The problem with this is that a) it's the FIRST notice we've received that there is any overdue balance and b) WE OVERPAY OUR RENT AND ELECTRICITY ON TIME EVERY.SINGLE.MONTH. The notice also said eviction proceedings would take place if the overdue balance was not taken care of within five days. Keep in mind that we have not caused ANY problems here or gotten in any trouble. We've been exemplary, responsible tenants and yet we got to come home tonight to this lovely letter when we havent been late with a single payment. I'd like to add that my husband is in the military, and most certainly does not need this added stress. Also, it is his responsibilty to the military to stay out if financial trouble, so he makes SURE he pays everything on time, every time. It is also an added frustration that the ONLY way to pay rent and electricity here is by mailing in a check to the management company. You can't drop it off in the leasing office and you can't pay online. We were told when we moved in that online payment systems were "in the works" but that was six months ago and they keep feeding us the same line - there is no specific estimate of when we might have a more convenient way to pay rent. We are so ready to get out of here.
