Property Ratings at San Jose Manor
If you are thinking about move in here, I'm here to tell you you should! What you get for the price you pay is unbeatable. Brand new remodeled apartment, beauitful well-taken care of grounds, great location, for a literal unbeatable price. I could go on and on but I'll just leave it at that. My stay was short, only six months due to have to move out of state, but I wish it would have been longer. I truly feel like anyone who decided to make a choice to move here will be happy. I SURE WAS!
I just moved out and had a lovely experience living here. The atmosphere is one of a kind, move here if you are looking for some peace. It’s great, comfortable, and just perfect for me as a single lady. Thank you San Jose staff for a great renting experience.
Bad place to live. Washing machines are always broken... soda machines are always broken... very noisy, construction across the street, recent pool remodel, leaf blowers 6 days a week (sometimes 7) Loud preschool next door. You can't park your car without it getting dirty due to the reckless leaf blowing and bird droppings. Property says no dogs, but many tenants seem to have them. Rent increased heavily yearly, minimum $100 per year in the past 3 years, yet no real improvements to complex. Started off as a cheaper place, but is now overpriced. you cant read the numbers on mailboxes. No dish washers in units. no pantry in units. 1 bedrooms are actually large studios with a half wall, no door to your bedroom. Wall unit Air Conditioners which seem pretty expensive to run. If a lease renewal is wanted, they require an inspection of your unit, which is fine, but intrusive. Other nicer places i've lived have not required this for lease renewals. It's Located in an area that has heavy homeless traffic, definitely not safe to walk around at night. I really could go over a lot more, but i think you're getting the point... those giving this place a 5 star review are either paid or have never lived in an actual nice apartment complex... I hope they improve, but that would probably trigger them to charge even more for rent... They recently added a new transaction fee to paying the rent as well... so even more money for these guys... Don't get locked in, it's so expensive to move, move somewhere else.
The place is liveable if you’re looking for an area for a short amount of time. Pros: Close to Tempe/Chandler/Airport. Everyone minds their business. No one’s ever at the pool. Cheap rent. Quiet complex. Always space for parking. Across from Banner hospital, so plus if youre always sick or work there. Good upkeep of property (grass/pool). Maitenance emails are sent accordingly. Beautiful trees/plants Cons: Roaches. Spotted running around in apartment. Still not sure where it came from. Heard a neighbor complaining about water leaking into their apartment bathroom from an upstairs resident’s apartment. They do roach spraying (pro? Con?) No dogs allowed. 1 homeless person near the intersection. Due to frequent upkeep, they blow a loud leaf blower at 7am. Looks like the walls and cabinets are all painted over year after year. Apartment is stuffy. pretty sure there is mold in the AC unit. The room smells like cigarette smoke if you dont have multiple air fresheners plugged in all day or candles. Black film on the AC filter and emits a gross smell every time its turned on even after cleaning like recommended by maintenance. Moved furniture and any other items 5 ft away from AC to avoid black dots (mold?)/black film that would collect on items. restroom has an extremely unpleasant smell to it despite numerous attempts at cleaning and air fresheners put in. The vanity sink space collects dust/dirt on its surface every day despite cleaning. countertops in bathroom and kitchen are prone to get stains on them due to its makeup. Door hinges are loose. Wall sockets are loose. Recommend bringing your own bulbs due to poor lighting and no lights in the bedroom or living room. Laundry room facility card readers take forever to read your card. Biggest hassle in doing laundry is waiting 30 seconds for one card reader to read your card only to be declined so you have swipe again. None of the buildings face east so if you need sunlight in your apartment, probably not the place for you. No microwave. One lock on the door, not much security. Door seal for front door is not closed, leaving room for roaches to crawl through or your cool air to get out. One window latch for security. Walls are thin, the reassurance that your neighbor is having a good time is nice though In summary: If you need a place fast or a decently safe place, this is the spot for you.
At San Jose 4-12 ‘til mid 8-20; left because of rent increases. Sheldon (Maintainence Mgr.) also oversees keeping the landscape beautiful and green. Office folks helpful & friendly. Environment is calming, positive, and quiet. Zero bug issues. I’d live there again.
BEWARE – many units reek of cigarette smoke. There are quite a few folks here who smoke inside of their units (and in one case, inside the laundry room - come on!) If you're unlucky like I was, they'll put you in one of these units without warning you about it and it will 100% RUIN all of your furniture and make your clothes (you) smell like an ash tray. The smoke issue is bad enough, but I also had my car broken into (there's no entrance gate here and there's quite a few homeless people around. Not the best neighborhood right around the corner, so be careful leaving anything out/in your vehicle). Fortunately, all that was stolen was about $1 of change. My previous neighbor had the same experience. Be very careful if you decide to rent here - you certainly get what you pay for.
Great starter apartments if your moving out for the first time! I lived here and I liked it quite a lot, its affordable and pretty quiet and the office staff was super friendly and helpful and the grounds are well kept. You can also pay your rent online which is great and they send tenants email update when things are being repaired.
This place is great! I've lived all throughout the valley and can say this complex is at the top of my rankings. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is top notch, and the apartments are ADORABLE! I'm sad to be leaving due to job relocation but I will definitely be recommending San Jose to anybody I know. So affordable. So comfortable. Easy to call home.
I've lived at San Jose apartments for six months and have had nothing but a great experience! The office staff is always on top of my maintenance requests and unlike some of the other neighboring apartment communities, San Jose is extremely quiet and a great place to live if you don't want noisy neighbors. Also, they just installed brand new washing machines! Totally worth it and highly recommend.
I have been here for a year and a half. The office has been nothing but nice to me. They work with you with any issues, and are very quick to respond in any situation. The maintenance guys are very nice and very good with what they do. I have had no problems with my apartment in the entire time I have lived here. I plan on signing another lease with them. Community is very good and everyone is very friendly. Couldn't have picked a better community.
I lived there for 1 year and any time something went wrong maintenance was there to help. The guys are so friendly they really make it a nice place to live and keep everything looking great!
