When I left my apartment, I gave my notice which bled partially into the month following the end of my lease. I was told that my final month of rent would be pro-rated. Instead, with my autopayments turned on, they withdrew the whole amount. When I notified the staff of the issue, they said, "there is nothing we can do, the system just does that". OK, well you can give me my money back immediately then, right? WRONG. "It'll be 3 weeks after your move out date before we can send it to you". Excuse me?!?!?! It has been over 3 weeks, I'm still waiting on my pro-rated rent and my security deposit. I left the apartment in immaculate condition.

The walls are paper thin. The trash area gets so disgusting. There was an ant infestation that took over two weeks to get rid of and they weren’t trying to help tenants that much. Packages were stolen from my doorstep and they basically told me oh well. I pay $75 for parking and my spot continuously gets parked in. When that happens you’re supposed to call the towing company but of course there’s always a 2+ hour wait. There’s not enough visitor parking here and people are too cheap to pay $75/mo to have their own spots for their extra cars. The parking rule isn’t enforced here, neither is the no smoking rule. Management doesn’t care about anything as long as they keep getting their payments. As government workers we asked if there was a way to pay rent when we got our paychecks. We were told the eviction process would be put into place if we missed a payment. Government workers haven’t been getting paid and they have no sympathy for that. The complex is nothing like it was talked up to be. Save yourself the stress and live somewhere else.
Management in the office doesn't care about your issues or maintenance requests. Mice run around the place and all they do to fix the issue is put black boxes that are mice traps. There are people constantly taking your reserved spot that you have to pay an EXTRA $75 a month for. Not sure what people do for a living here as there are multiple parties loitering throughout the complex. There is absolutely no parking that's why you have to pay extra for a spot but yet there are multiple vehicles that have been involved in severe accidents with body damage that have been parked in the same spot for over a month, that's why there is no parking. They claim this is a smoke-free community but yet there are people walking around with mason jars of marijuana and smoking cigars on their balcony, and even smoking while walking their dogs! If you make a complaint to management all they say is "there's nothing we can do, we can't control everyone". Save your time, money, and sanity and move somewhere else! For the amount you will be charged hidden fees and rent, you can be in a nicer area not dealing with people who double park in your spot or drop their blunt wrappers everywhere. They call it "Distinctive Urban Living" and that's the only thing that they are not lying about. There are A LOT of sketchy "urban" people that live here.
This complex looks nice from the outside and through pictures but DO NOT come here, it was the biggest mistake I have ever made. There is never enough parking and they charge an extra $75 a month for a reserved spot, that still gets taken by the ignorant people that live here. Management says that any car that parks in your PAID reserved and/or assigned covered spot will be towed immediately; but yet it takes an hour for the apartment security to respond and then another hour for a tow truck to come out, while you're sitting there with no place at 10pm. Nothing in the gym works nor is it sanitized as there are interesting stains on the cardio equipment. The structure of the complex was poorly built as you can hear peoples' conversations through the walls and if you want your apartment basking in the smell of marijuana, then this is what happens here. The best way to describe this complex is a GANGSTER'S PARADISE, there are suspicious characters always walking throughout the complex and cars are broken into and left on cinderblocks! Drug deals happen at the Arco gas station, people spinning donuts happen at the top of the entrance of the place, and Contra Costa Sheriff presence is a norm here. Management says they're trying to clean up the place but let's face it...it's Pittsburg. After all the fees that are not included with rent, I should have listened to my gut instead of trying to save money and got a place in a nicer part of Concord or even Walnut Creek. Invest your time and money at a different location, as I am constantly looking over my shoulder around here and regretting my decision every day that passes.
$ 600.00 Security Deposit -Apartment unseen. Only Virtual. Huge Mistake! More square footage DOES NOT mean more Liveable Space. Now, that I've actually looked /stepped Inside: "Valencia with fireplace" . We decide, not going to work. Our current 957sqft. Looks huge! So, $600.00 is lost. Why?, 72 hour holding period.Regardless, the $600.00 deposit was made while the old tenant still lived there, it took 3 weeks for them to have it cleaned and ready to view. It's my fault. I wanted to see it/step inside it prior to move in. How many other renters are eager to move in, but feel under-whelmed, when they do. Isn't that what a security deposit it all about? They say, "It's money lost, we could have rented it, we held it for you." Really, cause I can't control another person still living in the apartment when I put my $600.00 down and I can't control why, it took you 3 weeks to clean it, so I could view it. I had 72 hours from the time i put the $600.00 Security Deposit down. Ridiculous! Be Aware! I'll never recommend! The best part, through out this, expecting to get my $600.00 Security Deposit back. I sent 6 emails, called numerous times. No one ever responded. They had my money and I wasn't warranted a reply. 3 months later. Prior to sending this. I call, one last time. "I'll call you back". I've heard enough!
If you are planning on moving in, please reconsider. They are other apartments in the area that are a little more secure. I live here, so take my word for it. In case you already live here. If you park outside (either covered, or non-covered parking), please be aware of recent vandalism that has been taking place here at the SMV. Due to lack of security, thieves and thugs have been able to enter property and steal wheels off people's cars. 2 cars in just 2 months! According to the property manager, the security goes home at 4:00am, so around 5:00am thieves are coming through the property and doing whatever they want. Tires were stollen off my car and I was told by management here that they are not responsible for the security of my car! Just be aware of where you park especially if you have expensive wheels. Please spread the word and let potential new residents know.
This place is overrun with trash. There is not enough parking so everyone parks in red zones and the complex does nothing about it. So hopefully you don't need a firetruck or ambulance in one of the courtyard side apartments. They are adding a phase two but not adding any extra amenities. There were two nice fountains on the property but they could not figure out how to keep them working so they filled them in with dirt. Now they are paining they property again and it does not need it. Great way to waste our money. That must be why they are raising our rent another $300. Every few months they want to raise the rent, but not do anything for us in return. Don't waste your time here. It might look nice on the outside but the rest of Pittsburg is starting to move in. At least 5'cars a week get broken in to. The so called gate never works and let's all the homeless people come and go. maybe the front office should have to live in the filth they created.
My apartment is nice and comfortable. I have encountered all types of neighbors from the loner to loud and rude during my residence here. I have a beautiful view of the Bay and feel safe in this area.
