Property Ratings at San Marcos
It's been a pleasure being here at San Marcos! I can't express enough how great the staff is. Stephanie and Morgan are always helpful, and super professional. Clean grounds, friendly maintenance, and parking is way better than it used to be. The maintenance team is great too. Chanel, Jose, Octavio and Philip are always on top of things. Great job to the team at San Marcos - highly recommend!
Your property managers and securities never get back to you even after you've requested their help, very difficult to find parking, after paying your full rent but they are quick to have your vehicle towed for parking wrongly , will never recommend anybody to stay here , unless you own one vehicle and don't worry about the people who work here ever getting back to you.
- The apartment itself is cute, and clean. With spacious bedrooms/bathrooms and nice living area. - The complex is nice looking and welcoming, the swimming area is really cool and the neighbors, so far, seem nice. - There's a nice play area for kids where they can slide on scooters away from the street. - Huge variety of good groceries stores in every direction. Mexican, Arabic, Asian, Walgreen's, etc.. - Not close to the BART at all (over 20 min drive to closest station) - School district changes, but you can always just play dumb and take ur child to the school u want. It is not a bad district but not fantastic either. - But let me tell you about the management!!! The employees are clueless, not mean or rude, actually very nice, but truly clueless, made us sign contract 3 times because of continuous mistakes, got the school district wrong, take between 3-4 days to answer a call about a broken dishwasher. - The manager, Oh my, so rude and unhelpful which causes the dysfunctionalities I mentioned earlier. - So yes, we recommend you live here, specially if you have kids and pets, but keep in mind that most of the things people wrote about staff is true. And that you do have to deal with them more than you think.
If you like living life unbothered and don't mind your property managers and security leaving you alone although you've requested their help, this complex is for you. You don't have to worry about the people who work here ever getting back to you. It's a beautiful place to live and I'm sure the other extra residents agree as it is very difficult to find parking. The apartment itself is a great place to live, with no expectations of what this community says it offers.
Conveniently located at the corner of Richmond Parkway and San Pablo Ave, makes it's an easy commute to Marin for my job. My rent here is half what I would pay if I lived closer to work. The East Bay is such a convenient and exciting place to live. Close to shopping, both airports, restaurants and cultural events. San Marcos Apartments all have garages which guarantees you will always have a place to park. Who doesn't need a few extra square feet of storage that a garage provides. I love the built in desk that you could put a computer, decorations or make a TV nook. The kitchen has all the amenities of a more expensive luxury apartment. The balcony runs the full length of my living room and bedroom where I can get the breeze from the nearby San Pablo bay. I have lived here over 10 years and never had a problem with hearing my upstairs neighbors or crime. The office staff is friendly and maintenance is always provided asap. I don't think you can find a better apartment deal for the money!
My clean 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom home is located inside this beautiful gated community. My neighbors are very friendly and the staff here are polite. I feel safe here and I am proud to live here. The maintenance crew here are awesome! They have fulfilled every request I have submitted. Gardeners keep the trees and bushes trimmed weekly too. I look forward to coming home all the time! I love this place that much! Apparently I'm not the only one that loves it here so much because parking may be a challenge for guests. The appliances in my apartment are in great condition. The balcony has a breath taking view of the water and I spend a lot of time there relaxing.
I stay in a 1 bedroom apartment. The grounds are kept well but the staff isn't the most helpful and you'll be lucky if you get anyone to answer the phone when you call. My neighbors are quiet and security does a good job with maintaining a peaceful environment. If you work in San Francisco the transbay bus stops right out front and takes you to san francisco which is great. If you have more than one car good luck with finding parking after 5pm. There are at least twice as many cars as it is parking spaces. I've been there about a year and they are still "working on it". You will have to walk at least 20 minutes to get home because you will have to park in the surrounding neighborhood. When my lease is up. i'm moving because for $1700 I can find somewhere else just as nice to live. That don't include the mandatory phone you have to get installed in order to have people call you from the gate, the $100 a month water/garbage and $30 insurance.
This apartment complex came up unexpectedly in my frantic, last minute Craigslist search. Rushing over that same day, I thought, "beggars can't be choosers". Lo and behold, it was everything I could ever want and more. Gated community with a pool, sauna, gym and tennis courts, it was like I'd suddenly stumbled into paradise. A one bedroom, one bath was suddenly affordable (for California) at $1801 a month not including utilities, accommodations could be available the next day, fees waived, if I signed on the bottom line. Possibly surprised (and slightly concerned for my sanity), they gave me a quick tour that only solidified my resolve. High ceilings, new kitchen appliances, hardwood and carpeted floors, a balcony and a huge kitchen and bathroom made me pinch myself ferociously much to their amusement. This was it. I was finally home.
