Resting along the Salt River, Tempe’s major claim to fame is the main campus of Arizona State University. More than fifty thousand students attend classes here, and the university’s impact on the local culture cannot be overstated. In addition to being the city’s largest employer, ASU serves as the cultural hub for Tempe, hosting guest speakers, art and history exhibits, concerts, and other events that draw students and non-students alike. In addition to ASU Sun Devil sports, Tempe is also home to the spring training facilities for the Los Angeles Angels and the Legoland Discovery Center Arizona. Most of the nightlife and entertainment options in town are clustered near the ASU campus on the north side of town, with the areas further south mostly occupied by quiet suburban neighborhoods.
Along with the impressive campus of ASU, Tempe house beautiful green spaces.

Property Ratings at San Marino
I wish I could give negative stars for this review because as others have stated, management is rude, unethical, lazy, unaccountable, and seems to only care about money and the place that we moved into was not ready for us to move in. We moved out on 10/28/21 and were promised our prepaid rent back in two weeks and as of 12/19/21, we still have not received it and they are not responding to us. The apartment was not ready for us to move in and there were so many issues! We were excited to move because our unit had an attached garage and that was one of the main reasons we chose San Marino. Even at first glance, we saw issues, but when we took a closer look, we found many more. Our initial walkthrough, we found chips on the walls, unfinished paint, a drawer was just put into the counter and was not on the rails, the refrigerator was wobbly, there was a leak in the bathroom sink, the bathtub was glazed with dirt and debris still in it, there were gaps between the baseboards and the floor, and I could go on forever. It got to the point where we found it easier to take video of the place instead of pictures because there were so many issues. When a contractor would come to fix something, they would fix one thing, like the leak or put the drawer on the rails and say that the other issues were a different person. The only good thing about management was that they agreed to let us out of the lease on the second day and giving us 48 hours. I found a great place that we are now where the management actually cares about the place and is responsive. We informed Marissa that we were moving out and agreed to give back the keys. After we had moved our stuff out, we went to the office to return the keys. We were told to sign an indemnification letter and give back the keys, but we would not be given a copy of the documents we signed for our records nor a final account statement of how much was owed back to us. We went back and forth w/ Marissa and she basically forced us to sign it because if we didn't sign by that night, the offer to let us out of the lease would expire. On 10/28/21, we reluctantly signed, gave back the keys, and were told that we would receive a check with our prepaid rent back in 2 weeks. I had to send them an email afterwards to recap our conversation because they would not give us anything in writing. We received the final account statement in the next few days, but as of the today, we have not received our check for almost $2,300 back.
Nothing but regret Had to sign 3 different contracts because they changed the move-in date 3 times; the first time was with less than 30 days notice, by the end our move-in date was 24 days after the initial date and a different unit completely. During this ordeal there was zero empathy or understanding from the leasing office, they were extremely rude and knew the market was in their favor and they would have no problem filling the unit at a higher rent than what we signed at while trying to be prepared in advance. Upon move-in, there was no closet installed; it took 3 weeks and 3 attempts to get it installed. Multiple issues upon move in and got the runaround; office told us to put in a maintenance request to fix any issues, maintenance “cancelled” issue and told me renovation contractors would be sent in to fix it, contractors fixed 50% and said they didn’t work on the other things and I needed to talk to the office, asked office to resubmit our requests, the next day it was canceled with no communication (issues included no power to certain outlets, loose outlets, doors falling off of hinges, cabinet drawers not wanting to close, loose plate at the front door, security alarm not having power) Vehicle broken into within the first month of moving in and have heard about multiple others in the complex Broken security alarm; paying for the security alarm is required (built into rent fees Sub Par renovations Most recently- raw sewage backed up into our bathtub. We were told we had to take care of the cleaning ourselves. Some of these could have completely logical reasons but the constant run around to get anything accomplished has been so unprofessional and unhelpful. Communication has been nothing but frustrating. I would not recommend this complex or any with Knight Vest Residential Management company.
I love this place! It’s my first apartment on my own and I have to say I love the new upgrade in the apartment I have. The mail box parcel room is awesome since you need a code to get in. Nobody can steal your packages. Maintenance is hard to get during the weekend but understandable since they’re open during the week but they’re on it if you have any issues! The people working here were extremely kind even before I moved in . From the tour to moving in. Our USPS guy is the mean one but other then that everything is great LOL.
I'm so sad. I loved this place when I moved in 7 years ago. There were lovely areas with green grass, healthy plants, etc. The fitness room was maintained with working equipment and entertainment. The locker rooms were clean and the steam rooms were functional. Swimming pools & hot tubs were maintained with working lights. Skip to the present: Most grass areas are gone - replaced by rocks - in many areas the rocks so scarce the dirt surface is bare. I went to use the fitness room tonight and no one was there. I was happy to have the entire room to myself, then discovered both treadmills were posted with out of order signs. One tv was on but I couldn't locate a remote. Features such as a mirror and shelving had been removed & in their place holes in the wall and patched areas. Called management in early August to report all 3 gas bbq grills wouldn't light. They said it would be a week or so until fixed & would post an out of order sign in the meantime so people wouldn't waste time with their food items trying to figure out the problem. As of a week ago (2 months later) none of the gas grills were working yet. The light in the hot tub by front office hasn't worked for at least 6 months. My stairwell light has been out for who knows how long. If I could reach it, I would replace bulb myself. I've done that at least twice for the light outside my front door. I just don't understand what happened to management's pride and care of this property.

Water leakages in apartments, delay and lot of follow-ups required to get the maintenance done. Lot of dog poop on the side walk. will not recommend

I have lived here for about 1 1/2 years now. When we moved they were telling us how they will be updating some of the amenities. A year and a half later they have not lifted a finger. They sold me on the access to the steam rooms. The men's steam room has not worked since I have moved in, now the women's steam room does not work either. They don't care about tenants and their families. Management is very rude and heartless and only care about filling units with a take it or leave it mentality. Sam is probably the worst out of all the management team with absolutely no customer service skills. We were supposed to transfer to a "fully Updated" 2 bed 2 bath with a attached garage but once it came time to move. The unit was not updated at all with old dingy stained carpet that was supposed to be laminate flooring. Management pretty much told us too bad and gave us a ultimatum to either take the unit, stay in our current unit with a higher rent or just leave. They did not want to compensate in any form or way for misleading tenants in to signing up for a unit that was not what it was supposed to be. If you are considering this apartment complex please, I repeat please read the negative reviews they are real. I highly advised to stay away from this complex at all cost. Save your hard earned money for a property that actually cares about you.

I have excellent credit, perfect rental history and a dui from 4 years ago caused a denial in ya getting an apartment. Never once were we told this could be a potential issue. They kept the $100 in application fees and said “too bad.” Very unprofessional. Management is embarrassing. I am not even upset they denied me for this reason, but to not disclose that this could be an issue and then not return or application fee is beyond me.

I have never been treated so poorly by an apartment management staff than at Signature Place. The most rude individual in that office is Janet. I do not have enough allowable characters to explain their level of disrespect and incompetence. In short; their upgraded cabinets are absolute garbage that are painted with flat paint and they chip. I verified this with other residents and they have the same problem. Management will dismiss any service request and wait you out as long as possible, yes even when your A/C goes out in the middle of summer. Four of the five maintenance personnel were rude and one of them "tried" talking down to me until his tone was corrected by myself. If you have a parking issue they try to have you correct it yourself. The dumpsters over flow every other week, I've had a burnt out exterior light for one and a half months. The mail, the USPS re-keyed the boxes on a Friday, I called Saturday about my mail and asked if I have to wait until Monday for my mail? That peach named Janet is the front office tells me in a stand off tone "I guess". What do you mean you guess? Do you work here? They are just rent collectors! Anyway there are too many options to settle for the lack of disrespect and incompetence you will experience here. You've been warned.
I have been living in the property for two years and I have seen nothing but degradation of service. This property is lacking any facility for being called as Luxury rental. Basic services like water are disrupted for 4-5 hours without any notice by so called maintenance activities. Maintenance requests are handled at the mercy of the staff's availability and if escalated the front office says they have escalated the request to the manager. Few of the apartments in ground floor has Scorpions. Only reason people stay at this apartment is for the home school which has good rating and the management feels that gets them the business they need.
Had some issues with my apartment when i moved in and some issues with staff not getting things done in April. Jump to Aug/Sept. and this new office staff is on point and gets things done same day! I had my spring on my garage door pop and about 30min later the guy was there fixing it. Found a water leak in the closet in my apt. and maint was on it immediately and got it fully fixed in 8 days. The downside to that is I had to sleep on an air mattress in my living room. Overall I am pleased with this community and the office staff.
I have been living here for close to 6 months and I am not pleased or satisfied, disappointed. I think I have got the old apartment, there are rusts in the bathtub & wash basin, but I dont care about that. When we moved in, very first day the heater unit did not work, I could not reach out to anyone at the leasing office or maintenance guys, everytime I called, it went to voice message. We boiled water in the electric stove and used it to take bath, had to do that for about 4 days. There was no apology or courtesy call from the management. Now I have been following up few months for 2 maintenance problems, scheduled multiple appointments and no progress. I think I am going to give up. I am not going to renew my lease next time. Then the fitness center; there are only 2 tread mills, one has been out of order for months. And now few other EFX machines are also out of order, I stopped going to fitness center. Good thing is there are lot of trees around and good appearance, apart from that I dont like anything here.
Stay away at all costs. This place is a joke, totally going down hill over the past couple of years. Management doesn't care and would rather you not complain because they won't do anything about it anyway. The exercise room is a mess with broken equipment, tile and mirrors are broken which are a safety hazard. One of the TV's hasn't worked in over a year. The club house bathrooms are always dirty and hardly ever stocked with towers or toilette paper. The pool has been closed a couple of times due to god knows what, totally green. The steam room floor is never cleaned and is mostly likely a breeding ground of who knows what. Outdoor lights burn out and never get replaced. The grounds keeping is horrendous what with debris everywhere that you track into your place, plants are dying and never replaced. It it rains real hard for a good period parts of the parking lot flood which has damaged cars in the past. But I have to say the management team is the worst ever, there a lot of better locations to choose from along Grove Parkway than this place. Update 1/19/16 It's been a year now and the 1 treadmill and TV in the exercise room still doesn't work along with broken tile in the entry, more plants have died (sad because they are still being watered, what a waste) and concrete liners along the driveway are starting to fall apart. If you are even thinking about buying into this place I can only imagine the assessments that are going to have to happen in the future just to get this property looking decent. The management is still totally clueless and crime seems to be on the rise. The mail boxes have been broken into and I've seen several fights in the parking lot late at night So depressing to see this fall into such disrepair. Oh yeah, the BBQ's near the office are a total safety hazard not to mention a breeding ground for ecoli.
I love it signature place is nice the employees are nice you have a gym steam room and a club house with a business center for your business if you don't have a computer.
Absolutely loved my apartment. Moved here as a student and have enjoyed all the amenities and activities the complex has to offer. I love the spacious units and friendly staff. As a student with a hard budget, I have had all my needs met. Now that I am renewing I have had an increase in rent. I am a little drawn back by that due to me being a broke college student who supports herself. But other than that, this place is great.
Selecting a unit was a positive experience thanks to the friendly staff. They helped us choose a unit according to our desire to be near the best dog walking areas while staying within a convenient distance to the gate nearest my work. Our unit was prepared on time and in excellent condition. The pool, gym, and spa are well serviced and great fun. There are even gas fired BBQ grills near the clubhouse free to use. Also, for the first time in years I have met and know many of my neighbors by name - after only one week!
I was excited to finally find an apartment that has an attached garage. My only issue was that the appliances and carpet have not been upgraded which is a bit disappointing considering how much I pay a month. Other than that, there are no complaints.
