Property Ratings at San Tropez Apartment Homes
Trusttt me, you will be disappointed in everything. From parking to cleanliness to safety, they are far overpriced for the level of disgust that comes with it. Talk about low quality. We moved in and had dirt all in the window frames, and a cockroach infestation. Now that we're moving out, getting charged extra for cleaning! Ridiculous after what we put up with. Was going to just let it be and not leave reviews but spending an extra 300 on cleaning after already 100 nonrefundable for our tiny gross apartment. DO NOT LIVE HERE. A free application or whatever the appeal is, its not worth it. Live somewhere else I promise .

Endless issues since I moved in -- Absolutely no parking, AC barely works, slow internet, loud music until midnight at the bar next door, loud children playing in the dog park, gym always closed. Management talks a lot of talk but does nothing when you have issues. Avoid this place especially for how expensive it is.

I moved across the country to this apartment, so I was only able to see it online. The apartment has a great pool and is nice looking from outside. However, the day I moved in, my floors were disgusting; They were old, dirty, & broken. My shower head had mold on it, the blinds in my bedroom were broken, and my washer and/or dryer was broke. San Tropez did fix all of those things within a day or two, so I got over it. However, during my year long lease, the water was shut off way too many times to count. It would be shut off up to 8a-5p multiple weeks in a row. This was extremely inconvenient. Not only that, but the sewage system backed up! One day, my bathtub and toilet were filled with the entire complexes bathroom remains. It was absolutely HORRID. They took about 8 hours to fix the problem! I was LIVID. The good news is you probably won’t ever get inside your apartment because the parking is asinine. Coming in after 5? Better find a new job or a new apartment because there will be no where to park. The management team literally sent out an email recommending we park at the shopping center next door (HA). Are you still not convinced that this place sucks? My last straw was when I found termites in my apartment. I immediately called the management team and I was immediately shocked because they were not shocked nor in a rush. After the 3rd phone call Sabrina told me, “they would try to have someone come by.” 4 hours later, I called San Tropez back. Sabrina and Ashley told me the earliest someone could come out would be 30 days later. When I expressed my shock, they proceeded to say “we’ve had termites before. It’s not as big of a deal as you think.” I. WAS. APPALLED. Not only have they had them before, but they didn’t tell ANYONE, and then asked why I cared so much??? The termites were leaving mud tunnels in my apartment and connecting to my wood. They had the audacity to tell me, “oh and don’t touch the mud tunnels until pest control comes in 30 days.” I knocked down the mud tunnels daily for 1 week and they’d grow back by the next morning and they didn’t want me to touch them for 30+ days??? Only after telling them my attorney was involved did they push the pest control up to 8 days out, which still is too long but better than 30. I still have 1 more month in this apartment so I’m sure more will happen. I can’t wait!
The apartments themselves are older but the community as a whole has so much to offer! Definitely recommend to family and friends.

Hello, and thank you for your review. We always appreciate it when a resident takes the time to let our on-site team know that they are doing a great job! Thank you for calling San Tropez your home. -The Team at San Tropez
The complex looks fantastic and the grounds are well kept and clean. The apartment is very dated but spacious. The water is constantly being shut off due to leaks being repaired. So the looks only go skin deep, they only spend money to make the place look good on the surface. There have been multiple cars broken into over the past couple months but there is no gated entrance or security ever around. You can frequently smell marijuana in the area around the mailboxes in the evening and there are people smoking outside the buildings next to cars, so the no smoking is not enforced. There are large groups of college students partying and drinking in the pool area, this continued even during COVID as they just ignore the sign that was put up saying to limit the number of people in the pool area. If you have children I would look for a more family friendly complex. They offer what looks like a good value on the rent, just under the other competing apartments in the area with similar amenities. However this comes with a big catch that you will find out when you go to renew your lease. They increase your rent by 10% on renewal. The average renewal increase in the area is 5.8%. This ends up putting your rent well above what you would pay at one of their competitors. During negotiations on the renewal their response was take it or leave, absolutely unwilling to even discuss it. There are tons of other great options in the area, save yourself a lot of money and go somewhere that cares about more than squeezing every dollar of profit from their residents.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your feedback and will use it as a training tool for the future. Typically, the best renewal pricing is on a 12 months lease which would have been a small increase; Opting for a short-term lease will increase the monthly cost. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me, so we can address your concerns; I am happy to help in any way that I can. Thanks again, Sabrina S., Community Manager
I’ve been a resident with San Tropez for 3 years now. Love the location, close by to the freeway, the staff are very friendly, and professional. Just a great place to call home.
I applied a few weeks ago and was denied due to and MIC (minor in consumption of alcohol) that I received when I was 19 in 2012 (I'm now 25..) I called to dispute my application getting denied but the offie employees were far from helpful and provided zero direction. It's unfortunate to hit a wall like that and I can't believe this place is denying prospective tenants for such nonsense. If you've received an MIC in the last 7 years, save your money and don't apply here.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! You may not have problems often, but when a major problem arises YOU WILL BE LEFT HIGH AND DRY! I arrived home today (April 24th) to find my AC had blown out and my dog inside panting frantically. When I called the office at 4:00pm (a usual time for people to get home, there was no earlier opportunity for me to discover the problem) it was 97 degrees outside, they said they would send maintenance. When maintenance arrived 45 minutes later, I was told, "Our AC guy already went home for the day." So now, I am sweating in a 100 degree apartment with my dog while maintenance installs what they called a "Portable AC unit" which is really just a window AC unit about the size of 2 shoeboxes. I have an obstruction between two of my vertebrae and am unable to sleep in any bed but my own if I want to be able to get restful sleep, so I cannot accept the WHOPPING $125 they offered me to find a different hotel room for the evening. There is no hotel room for $125 with a full kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. The offer is ridiculous and insulting. They would rather pay $125 to push the problem off than just hire someone to fix a simple problem, WHICH IS EXPLICITLY DEEMED AN EMERGENCY IN MY LEASE. I told the office I am completely unsatisfied with their offers to "fix" my current situation, and am waiting to hear back. The "Portable AC Unit" is on the floor/rail of my sliding door leading to my patio with a large piece of cardboard above it, the entire setup is completely ineffective and very loud. I find it INCREDIBLY ridiculous that in ARIZONA the man responsible for maintaining and repairing AC units is not on call, and especially ridiculous that he leaves for home at 3pm. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
Not only is the complex beautiful, my 1 Bedroom unit is spacious and well maintained. There is a public pedestrian/bike greenway path just outside the back gate where I can take my dog safely on walks. Everything I can possibly want is close by. 10 minutes from Old Town, 15 minutes from Phoenix Zoo, 23 minutes from Sky Harbor Airport. I just love living here!
I am a current resident at San Tropez. My experience here has been wonderful. The staff is fantastic and the property itself is remarkably well kept. Even better than that is the huge bath tub in the master bathroom... It is actually big enough to comfortably sit and take a bath in!! There is also a fireplace and a beautiful open floor plan. We are also located on the Green Belt, and are just minutes from Old Town Scottsdale. Its a perfect place to be.
I am new to Arizona and chose San Tropez apartment homes because of the low price, amenities. and location. My roommate and I are in a two bedroom St. Bart style apartment. The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern for the age of the buildings. I am disappointed about the upkeep of the apartment, such as cabinets that were glued shut instead of being fixed. Work orders do not get filled very quickly and our air has been broken three times in the last three months. Staff is very friendly, but not very helpful or knowledgable. Outside of the apartment, the landscaping is pleasant, pool is amazing, gorgeous, and clean, workout and sauna room open 24/7, but parking is a nightmare. Each apartment is allotted one car port and other available spots are sparse, leaving you to park in a parking lot across the street. The location is great. It is very close to Tempe Marketplace (outdoor mall), restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, Fashion Square Mall, schools, and Old Town Scottsdale where the party scene is. There are many diverse young people, families, and some elderly in the complex and everyone is very respectable, quiet, and friendly. Although there are some negatives to the apartment complex, it is an affordable, peaceful, and overall nice place to live!
I moved in 2 months ago and still smile when I pull into the resort-style complex; it feels so luxurious! The cabanas by the pool are the icing on the cake. The staff has been so helpful and quick to respond. Their online system for payments as well as maintenance requests never fails. I put in a request online and the manager herself called me within 24 hours and continued to follow-up until I was taken care of. The actual maintenance crew is very kind, trustworthy, and generous. For location, this is a prime spot for those attending ASU, those who like to hike bike and run, those who like to shop, AND the ones who love the nightlife! It is so close to Old Town Scottsdale (within walking distance) which is a quaint little main street area that has art in the park and a farmers market every week, a 10-minute drive to Tempe Marketplace AND Fashion Square(some of the best shopping centers around), and RIGHT on the Greenway biking and running path as well as near some of the best hiking around like Camelback Mountain. Sky Harbor Int'l Airport is a short 10- to 15-minute drive. As busy as the area sounds, San Tropez is just enough off the beaten path to make it the most perfect spot I could hope for in the area.
