Property Ratings at Saratoga Cove Apartments
Maintenance sucks here! they do not care. This is the 2nd time this has happened here, i had a bathroom leak first time was 3 days before they came and fixed it my bathroom sink was leak and floor was covered in water as well as under sink. The Most recent time, took 6 DAYS for the same problem!!! . absolutely ridiculous. waiting days and days. Can’t wait to get out.
Whatever negative review you’ve seen, believe it. I’ve been here for a month and a half, and I already regret choosing these apartments. Maintenance requests are not taken seriously, they do not share accurate information when showing the apartment. Make sure you check the spacing as they will just tell you whatever they need to to get you in. I’ve been complaining about the laundry closet being small and not for a full washer/dryer which is what I asked for specifically. They had to carve into part of it for my dryer to fit, then the doors block the dryer from opening. What is there solution you ask? Well just remove the doors because apparently there is not any other type of doors available in the world that could replace the doors there now. I’ve been waiting since I moved in for them to follow up with me but just now got a response. If you have any other choice, go with that one. Save yourself a headache.
My boyfriend and I never had a problem with Saratoga Cove, and enjoyed our time there. We were always on time paying our rent, and had little communication with the front desk which is a good thing. We move out a month ago and just got the break down of all the fees that prevented us from having our deposit back. It included leftover fees that they didn't warn us about and more rent that they didn't warn us about either. They gave us our "final" prorated rent that didn't include cable or trash fee... and told us that was it so that came out of our deposit plus water and $120 worth of cleaning fees. Even though we spot cleaned everything and carpet was not dirty or damaged at all! We had no pets whatsoever. Since they don't want to refund us or work with us I want to warn all future guests to not waste their energy in cleaning or rely on getting their deposit back since they will charge cleaning fees regardless. This could've easily been a five star review since we are not a problematic tenants and don't expect things to go smoothly all the time. If you want a nicer apartment just go out and spend the extra money because you'll end up paying it in fees anyways. Hope this helps!
My experience with Saratoga cove, even after new management has been the worst apartment living experience I’ve ever had. The office staff is very unprofessional and seemingly inexperienced after several mistakes within the time we were living here. Do not live here if you want reliable people in charge of your apartment home.
First time leaving a review on apartments. Never had we had a bad experience like this one. Maintenance is ok they half fix everything, office staff for the most part is friendly. We lived in a town home, worse apartment ever! Very hot! The ac unit is so small it couldn't keep the whole apartment cool. Either it was upstairs or downstairs depending on if we closed off a vent or not. Ac gave out a few times but they went to fix it almost immediately. On my last month it was prorated rent and I checked with the office staff and they gave me a total which i paid a few cents more. Well on the 6th day of the month the manager Carolina goes to my apartment and literally unlocks my door after I didn't answer when she knocked. I was putting my newborn to sleep when she knocked. Well she UNLOCKED and OPENED my door just to tell me I was "past due" for the amount remaining of the month. Again I told her it's prorated what I paid plus why are you coming to tell me when you all already cashed my check! Well she left. Well 2 days later I get home to a notice saying if we don't call them they will file for an eviction. I was so upset I called them the next morning and asked. Eric's reply was well it's all done by our system and it's saying you're past due but you'll be fine. I also mentioned that Carolina OPENED my apartment door just to tell me I was past due. Eric said yes that's what they do. SO WATCH OUT DONT RENT HERE if you don't want them opening your door without your permission!!! Well we move out and I get my final statement. While I did get some of my deposit back, they're claiming that I didn't pay my water for the month of April-May and May-June. I called and Eric said well on your last bill you didn't pay $40 more of water. We paid water I did the math with Eric before writing the check. Not only did they threaten to evict us while it's THEIR mistake but now they're saying we didn't pay our water bill. Just watch out with these money hungry corporation. They also charged me an EXTRA FULL day for returning my keys in person the next morning. I'm so glad we're out of there! I seriously couldn't wait to leave. I was with them for 2 years! They're just anxious to make an extra buck. They upped our rent which is what happens but seriously it's not worth it. Yes they have promotions going on right now to try to get more tenants but seriously it isn't worth it. They're very old and very expensive.
About three months after we moved in I went out to my car at 5 in the morning to go to work and both our vehicles had been towed. I had parked in front of a fire hydrant, completely my fault, my wife however had parked in a no parking space with paint so badly faded that you couldn't tell it was a no parking zone. When we demanded to know why our vehicles had been towed the employee became verbally abusive to my wife, getting in her face and screaming at the top of her lungs "Can you read?!" After this incident we went to the complex manager and she met us halfway by getting one of our vehicles out of impound at no cost to us. We requested that they repaint the spaces so it wouldn't happen to anyone else and they told us they would have the spaces that we had parked in repainted right away. Two weeks later they repainted all of their modern art statues, they did not repaint those spaces until a month or two before we moved out, so a year later. Immediately after we moved in we discovered how severe the pest infestation was. I have never killed so many roaches as in the 18 months that we lived at Saratoga Cove. We had pest control in our apartment every other Tuesday, and knew them on a first name basis. Despite all of this, and us doing everything in our power to eradicate them nothing worked. My wife and I are both prior service military, we know how to clean a home. So for them to come in and say that this, that, and the other are so dirty that they have to bill is what we find interesting. We had a $50.84 balance that we were owed, on top of our $150 security despoit, so a total balance of $200.84. Upon final walk through we were billed for the following, cleaning of Kitchen-$55 tub and shower wall- $50 (this being a red stain from a terrible caulking job maintenance had done, and required a special acid to clean) Insufficient notice penalty- $27.26, apparently if you give your 60 day notice to the day, and turn in your keys a day early, you get billed a pro-rated amount. Replace 4 drip pans in oven- $20, they were in the same condition as when we moved in, had I known what the standard of comparison was I would have happily gone and bought new ones. standard carpet cleaning- $48.58 The carpet cleaning is billed out at an hourly rate of $50, so the assistant complex manager Eric Harrera was in there with a stop watch timing his cleaning staff? Or was he simply trying to not pay someone their deposit back?
We lived here for 3 and a half years and it was MISERABLE. We had a giant roof leak in our living room for over a year. Every time we told them about it, they said they had to fix the outside before fixing the inside. When we would ask when they would fix the outside they would say eventually. We also had mold in the ceiling in our daughters room but they refused to fix it until they fixed the outside of the roof. When we finally moved out, we realized the giant leak in our living room had created mold on the entire wall behind our movie shelf. The mold got onto our shelf and ruined it. When we told them about the mold they said it was our fault because they didn't have any reports on files of the leaks or the mold in our apartment. Even though they had roofing company come take pictures of our apartment months prior, they still said they had no reports on file. We also had MAJOR roach problem. Every week we told them we wanted pest control and pest control would never show up. Or they told us they would be there by 12 and show up five hours later at 5 and tell us they couldn't enter the apartment because our dogs were out. We also constantly got letters saying we were on lease violation for having our curtains showing from the windows because we were supposed to keep our blinds down. This place ruined apartment living for us. Please do not rent here whatever you do.
They suck! I just went to put an application in, I should've read the reviews before hand.. Needless to say we got approved but I changed my mind about wanting to live there, application fee was 75 okay no biggie but the extra fees were $250. I figured they would just keep the $75 but the lady, whoever it was that I spoke to (very rude btw) told me that it's in their policy if we withdrawal our application they keep everything. Which is complete bull because NOBODY told me this, and that's because two different ladies helped me. The apartments are dingy and super old on top of that. They redid a few things but other than that it's not all that great. Every single review I have read about these apartments have said the same thing, that these apartments are INFESTED with bugs. So fair warning before even putting an application in with these people.
During the sign up process, customer service was excellent. They work with you and someone stayed late one day to help me fill out the paperwork after I got off of work. They will do anything to get you into the apartment you want. After you are in though, it's a different story. Whenever I had a problem. I would call the front office and they would put in a request for the problem to get fixed. I would end up waiting a week giving them a call back, then tell me the same thing and the problem still never gets fixed. After going through my contract I realized that you must hand write a letter and date and sign it in order to get something fixed. But they never bothered telling me that when I kept calling them to fix stuff. Maintenance does poor jobs if/when they show up. I have to get some things fixed, 2-3 times before the job is complete. Recently people have been gathering around the volley ball pits late at night to play and party, sometimes going on past midnight. The office did put letters out to remind people of the rules and the volley ball has slowed down. So they do some things right.
I've had trouble with pests and fleas. Also have a/c problems and complex maintenance waits until I have to call back twice.
Older buildings that have poor AC units that leaks or dont work. Electric will go out at random time for no reason. Parking lot will flood with rain. Work is done slow and only temporary. Art work throughout the landscape is nice and unique.
