just now NEW I currently live at satsuma I would really like to give a big THANK YOU to everyone apart of the satsuma village. You guys are doing a wonderful job with the apartments. It’s an amazing place to live i havnt had any problems since I’ve been there and I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon.

It’s not luxury living, however it is close to my work and affordable. Compared to the rest of the complexes in LC it is the most convenient if you’re in a hurry to move.
They have been promising a wash area for the past 8 months. Several deadlines have come and gone nothing has been done. Only excuse after excuse. You have to go to someone's house or a Washateria to wash your clothes until they decide to get their priorities strait!!
I wouldn't call this the worst place to live, but it isn't good either. The newly renovated apartments are half done. They obviously threw the place together in a hurry. No assigned parking. No washer and dryer facility. The pool is closed. The parking lot is full of pot holes. They still have yet to fill any of them in. When it rains the parking lot can't drain, so water builds up and floods. Landscaping isn't the best. If you can find a better place, I would suggest it. If you can't, this is definitely still a place to live. It is just the bare minimum though. Nothing special or amazing.
Maintenance takes forever to fix something! I have had mold in my apartment & a leak since I've moved in a year ago! Management is terrible with communication! The walls are super thin! Neighbors are loud & inconsiderate. Management doesn't seem to care or do anything about any type of complaint! You can smell when someone is smoking weed through the walls. Maintenance comes & goes as they please! They spray for pest sloppily! Debris all in the parking area! No designated spots so visitors can park & take up residents spots. Landscaping is terrible! They leave grass in front of your door! Maintenance tracks dirt all through your apartment & doesn't bother wiping off shoes before entering. Need I go on?? Worst year of my life living here! Can't wait until my lease is up!
This place is terrible. I Can’t wait for my lease to be up. The management sucks. They NEVER get back with you at all. They so say spray your apartment for roaches but those big tree roaches still seems to appear more often then they should. The parking is a joke. We pay rent and sometimes have to park really far from our apartment. They give I a day notice when coming into your apartment for something.They always have move in specials. Please avoid them. It’s not really worth the hassle. I do NOT recommend to anyone.
The apartments are currently under new management and while me and my boyfriend were looking for apartments these comments worried us. We almost did not go to tour these apartments, but at last minute we decided to give it a try. When we go there the people in the office were very welcoming and professional. The apartments were remodeled and very nice and affordable. The location was nice and safe and we will be loving our time here. The other comments are misleading and you should at least give it a tour before letting these comments persuade you either way. My honest to God opinion is that these are some of the nicest and most affordable apartments in the Lake Charles area.
i received my key and was told the apartment would not b ready until the following day. Came home from work, and I didn't have the correct key. Being from out of town I tried to contact the office staff. No luck. A neighbor had the maintence mans personal number and he came unlock the apartment. Maintence was very nice and helpful. After unloading a few things I realized the apartment was still hot. The thermostat read 80 n the ac would not blow cool air. I Called the maintence man personal number and was told that he would have the office staff send the ac guy to my apartment the following day. At 9am I called the office(which prompts u to leave a voicemail) and left voicemail. Took an early lunch and drove to the office and was told someone would b at the apartment before 5pm. I never received a call so I got off work early and went back to the office at 4pm and was told that the ac would not b able to make it until tomorrow. After another HOT night and a day of pestering the office staff, finally at 6:40pm an ac guy arrived and I was told that he could not help because I should have been told to have the fan on (he said this happens often and the office staff usually tells the tenant) so it would take another day to completely melt. The master bathroom tub did not have hot water, there was black hair all over the apartment, when I passed a mop on the floor it turned from black to brown!!(I thought it was stained-Nope!!) the entire back patio area was covered in poison oak and smelled like strong human urine!! I was there for a less than a month when I found out my job was sending me out of state. I was told I had to pay 3months rent and then only if they find a new tenant I would not have to pay the rest of the lease. When asked how would I know if they found a new tenant, I was told I would have to call. It was my responsibility to call. Ok anything to get out. For 3 months I called MULTIPLE times DAILY leaving voicemails--even weekends!! I eventually called entergy and was told that apartment had new tenants. THANK GOD for entergy having a responsible and competent office staff.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Management is RUDE & Horrible! Nothing NEVER gets fixed unless you bother them. There's on site management for incase you get locked out, well my roommate was locked out and I wasnt in town, she Called and knocked on the onsite managers door who told her "I cant do anything for you right now" because it was 3AM But THATS WHAT SHE'S THERE FOR!!! I Wouldnt recommend anyone living here. The whole year I stayed there, there was a bathroom water leak which made our water bill higher than it should have been and they NEVER came fix it! Also when I first moved in I didn't think there was assigned parking so I would park where ever an open spot was. Well 2 times different ladies left notes on my car about not taking their spot bc they paid for it every month, LIE! So I went to the office and the lady said Nobody pays for spots but she couldn't do anything abt it. So the next time a lady had the audacity to come knock on my door and ask me to move my vehicle and I said No! So im guessing the next day she reported me to the office which then led to the management taping letters to everyone's door letting everyone know theres No assigned parking! Now the Apartments aren't raggedy but if there was better management and maintenance team it would be an OK Apartment complex.
