Property Ratings at Savannah Ridge
Cons: 1. Security Concerns: Savannah Ridge has unfortunately been marred by instances of security threats, including the unsettling situation where the management threatened to break into my apartment. 2. Billing Issues: The leasing office struggles with accurate rent calculations, opting for prorated amounts based on days in the month rather than adhering to the fixed monthly rate. 3. Hygiene Challenges: The property is plagued by persistent issues with mice and roaches, creating an ongoing concern for cleanliness and comfort. 4. Thin Walls: Despite attempts to create a luxurious space, the reality falls short due to paper-thin walls, leading to a lack of privacy and disturbances from neighboring units. 5. High Staff Turnover: The frequent turnover among office staff raises questions about the work environment and management stability. Pros: On a more positive note, 1. Scenic Surroundings: Savannah Ridge benefits from a beautiful location surrounded by attractive houses. 2. New Gym: The recent addition of a gym is a positive amenity for residents. 3. Packages never stolen. Notice how must pros are related to location not the Savannah Ridge. If you can afford the apartment I would suggest looking for different apartment in the area.
I just moved in. It was the best experience by far. The leasing staff is amazing and very attentive. From the day I applied until move in day. It’s a beautiful location and the apartment is everything I have been looking for !
Property management never answers the phone. The maintenance guy told us he couldn’t come fix the A/C until daylight according to the corporate office. It was 90 in our apartment at 3am. It used to be an emergency but apparently not anymore. They are currently renovating the property and apartments but they are letting the contractors trash the property in the process. Two years ago this was a decent place to live but now it’s become a nightmare! Rent at your own risk! It’s not worth the rent or your sanity!
My hubby and I lived in these apartments for 8 yrs. The area we lived in was very quiet. I know some areas were not as quiet as ours. The staff in the office were great, but none of them seem to last long. Once you get use to them, someone will leave. However,we love how the staff were very involved in the community.Every month they will have different events for you to attend and give back.We really loved the location, It was close to everything. During our last year 2019 there, the complex start having issues with auto theft. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and we wish you luck with your stay as well.
I have lived here for several years- the office is prompt to return any calls, and they take any noise complaints very seriously! I like the area as well- northwest Norman is much much quieter that near campus, and this is ideal for my life and career.
I lived here from May of 2015 until I relocated for my career in May of 2017. This apartment complex and managing company went above and beyond to ensure I had a nice place to call home. From move in to move out they were very prompt and answered any question I had. I knew I had a break fee because I broke the contract to move, they were flexible and allowed payment arrangements if needed. Every time I ran into an employee they went out of the way to ensure I was happy. I loved my neighbors and I would highly recommend this complex to anyone looking around. Still in Norman and close to Moore but you don't have the busy traffic around campus to worry about. Thank you Savannah Ridge and Northstar for the great memories!!!
I've lived in these apartments for about a year and I have zero complaints. The surrounding neighborhoods are very nice and quiet with plenty of sidewalks for those who like to get out and run. It's close to shopping and anything else you'd want to do in Norman. The management staff has always been very nice and helpful. Maintenance has always been prompt and efficient. They spray for insects regularly and I have never seen any in my apartment. They are very pet friendly and have doggie bags available around the grounds. There is just nothing bad that I could say about this place. This is the first apartment that I can say I will truly be sad to leave.
If you wanna preserve any quality of life you have, don't move here!!! Love the way one month they lost multiple people's rent and try to charge them for it, don't fix things they're supposed to, do nothing about noise complaints or residents stealing property or even break ins, have a tendency to be out of the office more than they should (so have fun getting packages or paying rent or talking to anyone if you work a 9-5), left my cosigner on the account a year after they should have been taken off after multiple attempts to make sure it was taken care of, you can count on outrageous electric bills and insect infestations because they can't properly seal an apartment, a 24/7 helpline that literally can NEVER help you no matter what the problem is, "forgot" their own rules costing me several hundred dollars to pay for their mistakes, didn't ever bother to contact me about how they decided to charge me a grand for carpet replacements in the tiny place and damages that they didn't care about when I actually lived there and waited til they qualified to sell the supposed debt so that they were guaranteed some money because they knew I would hassle them about it, and now I live too far away to take them to court so it's cheaper for me to just pay it off. I've lived all over the world, and I have lived in the worst part of town in one of the worst cities in the nation, but Savannah Ridge is by far the worst place I have ever lived. Paper thin walls so it's great if you wanna hear every single soft word your neighbors say and then some. Terrible quality apartment. Very crooked foundations. Broken windows. They charged the last person in my apartment a cleaning fee even though when I moved in, there was still an outrageous amount of cat hair, which I am allergic to, that I had to clean by myself. Things will break all the time. You will have to pay for things you shouldn't have to. They are near impossible to work with. They LIE. Cars have been stolen out of the parking lot. Rampant drug usage. Terrible everything. The list is endless. I don't have enough space in my memory to recall all the details of how horrible this place is anymore lol. Was harassed and stalked by neighbors but the apartment never cared
I've lived at Savannah Ridge almost a year now and have nothing but good things to say about the apartments, the management, and the area. I moved to Norman from out of state, and really didn't know Norman at all. I feel like I lucked out with this place! It is in a great part of town, surrounded by beautiful neighborhoods, with lots of sidewalks. It's also nice being only minutes from shopping, the mall, and the highway WITHOUT any of the crazy traffic! The management staff is fantastic; I feel like they go out of their way to accommodate the residents if it's in their power to do so. They keep residents informed with notices and newsletters, and are very responsive via email. They have patio decorating contests, canned food drives, toy drives, coat/hat drives, and other community events to bring residents together, which is awesome. I've not had to put in many maintenance requests, but like another review said, if I put in a request in the morning, they get it done by the time I get home from work. The apartment itself is nice and well maintained. I love that I have a porch and can sit outside on a nice day. My neibors are nice, which I realize can change, but most of my neighbors have been here a while. Turnover seems low, which gives it more of a nice community feel. Overall, Savannah Ridge is a great place to live, and I plan on staying here until I'm ready to buy a house in a few years.
1) They make living on the west side of Norman affordable. West Norman is beautiful and close to everything. Also, game day traffic doesn’t seem to be nearly as bad over here. These apartments are surrounded by amazing neighborhoods. I like to walk, and I spent the first few months living here discovering all the area has to offer. I love walking past all the gorgeous houses directly north of here, and Cambridge has a walking path off 48th that goes around their lake. The path is incredible during the spring when all the flowers are blooming. 2) While these apartments are older, they are very well maintained on the inside and outside. I love the individual porches. Everyone seems to do a great job of picking up after their pets and keeping the grounds clean. The pool is always nice and clean. 3) Management is great. They have porch decorating contests each holiday with prizes ($ off rent), monthly newsletters, free back-to-school breakfast, a free cookout when they opened the pool after winter, a rubber duck search (if you were first to find the rubber duck on Savannah Ridge property, you got $ off rent), and all kinds of stuff. They also hung ‘Happy Holidays’ door knob hangers on all our doors, which was nice, but best of all, THEY OFFERED FREE GIFT WRAPPING DURING CHRISTMAS! I didn’t wrap a single present this year. While I love these apartments and would love to stay here, I am moving in the next month. Management has been so kind and accommodating to help me with this transition. 4) They don’t let people ruin the place for everyone else. I had some neighbors who did NOT take good care of their property. For a few days, they had a broken down vehicle outside their apartment with the hood open and cloths everywhere. The same day I was going to turn in a complaint, I noticed they had a tow warning on their car. I also noticed that they did not live here long. They also have locks on the laundromat and pool, and give tenants wristbands for the pool to make sure that people other than tenants and their family/friends aren’t using it. While it may seem like a nuisance to some, I really liked it after living at an apartment that didn’t do these things. 5) Maintenance is FAST! If I turn in a maintenance request in the morning, it will be completed when I get home from work at 3:00. I once called maintenance at night, DURING A TORNADO WARNING and they knocked on my door as soon as the warning was over.
