Located about seven miles southeast of Downtown Washington, DC, Congress Heights is a historic neighborhood experiencing revitalization. The neighborhood is home to the historic Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital and the US Coast Guard headquarters. Congress Heights is emerging as a hub for leisure and sports thanks to the newly built Entertainment and Sports Arena and Gateway DC, a green space used for festivals, farmers markets, and other community events. As far as rentals, Congress Heights is one of the most affordable places to live in the capital with condos, apartments, houses, and 20th-century townhomes available for rent.
Although the neighborhood has garnered more attention recently for its newer additions, Congress Heights is known for its tight-knit community and rich culture. Block parties are common and locals gather at community spaces like the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus and the Congress Heights Arts and Culture Center.

Property Ratings at Savannah
IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD . I’m currently a tenant on the property (also apart of the tenant board) and seeking the fastest way off this property. I’ve been here 5 years and didn’t have any problems until this new management company signed on to run the property (Franklin group) now we barely have a maintenance man so things are not being properly fixed. The doors , fobs and codes barely work & we have reported this problem multiple times. A resident was locked out until 7am resulting in her sleeping in her car. We had a bad infestation of mice and all pest control do is spray and give you three mousetraps and tell you have a good day.Now it’s being brought to light that a tenant is having a rat infestation after being forced to live next door to a biohazard unit that no one wanted to enter. And management said it’s too expensive to clean. The unit was not cleaned until we threatened to call the news. The tenant property has been destroyed because of the rats and management did nothing but tried to point the finger at the tenant she was offered another unit right next to the infested one when appliances were pulled out in the new unit you can see that patched up holes which already showed the infestation had reached there so because she refused the unit and decided to move they are refusing to refund her the money for the months she was unable to live in the unlivable unit . THESE ISSUE ARE REAL AND ARE HAPPENING IN REAL TIME. PLEASE DONT MOVE HERE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE. DOCUMENTS ARE BEING FORGED PAPERWORK IS GOING MISSING AND THEY HAVE NO ANSWER FOR WHERE IT WENT. THE NOW HAVE A DAMAGE LIST WHERE THEIR CHARGING RESIDENTS FOR SIMPLE MAINTENANCE. Their charging for clogged toilets and more. THEIRS PROBLEMS LEFT AND RIGHT FOR ROACH , rats, saw tooth grain beetles, water bugs spiders . Don’t count on the laundry room because the washer and dryer’s are always broken . They count on 11 building to use 3 washers and 3 dryer. They don’t handle any situation properly protect yourself and your family for slum landlords like here you deserve better. STAND CLEAR OF THIS PROPERTY PLEASE. IM BEGGING YOU AND FORE WARNING YOU
I repeat, DO NOT MOVE HERE !!!! It’s APRIL 2019 and this place is infested with everything you can imagine from HUGE COCKROACHES TO CENTIPEDES TO BED BUGS TO MICE EVERYTHING !!!! I get woken up a lot from hearing gun shots right out side my window. This place is wayyyyy to high for the quality and neighborhood is extremely unsafe! You call maintenance and they never come for whatever is broken even the property manager won’t get back to you so please save your self the stress like I wish I would have. I was lied to so much when I first moved in I asked about bugs rodents crime etc and ofcourse the person painted the perfect picture of what this place is NOT. They straight lied and I can’t wait to move omg !!!! The neighbors smoke all in the building and it gets in your apartment. The air and heat breaks all the time. No hot water here half the time. Just please do not move here they need to tear these places down it looks like a jail anyways if you really look at it ! I never leave review but I really want to help someone else !
