Property Ratings at Sawmill Commons
Sawmill Commons is absolutely my favorite apartment I have ever lived in. Not only do I have incredible neighbors, the Office Staff and Maintenance Crew are amazing. My apartment is perfect, cozy, and warm. I love coming home. I've lived here for about 3 years and have very little maintenance issues. The few that I have had were addressed promptly, professionally, with with care. Even my little doggie, Rodney Mayhem, loves it here- we can't walk past the Leasing Office without him begging to stop in to say hello. You can't go wrong living here!

Thanks for taking a moment to give us your 5-stars! We're lucky to have residents like you and Rodney Mayhem at Sawmill Commons! We're so glad you love calling our community home!
It always stinks. Piles of garbage sit for days around the dumpsters. They removed the large dumpsters and still charge the same price for trash removal but doubled the stink.

I’ve lived at Sawmill commons for about 4 months now. The grounds are well taken care of, the pool is well maintained, the gym and clean. You can’t hear your neighbors, and the community itself is very calm and safe. The apartments feel roomy, and modern, and seem built well enough.

Thank you so much for this review! We really appreciate it.
We have been here for over 2 years now, and love it here! Everyone in the office is helpful and so friendly, maintenance is great, and it’s an overall quiet community. We feel safe here and the price can’t be beat. Definitely recommend!

Hey there, Thank you for the kind review and recommending Sawmill Commons! We're thrilled to hear you love living here and hope you'll call it home for a few more years! Thanks! CASTO Communities
Sawmill Commons is probably my most favorite apartment that I’ve ever lived in, and I’ve been renting in Columbus on and off for almost 20 years. I only left because I moved in with my boyfriend. The size of the apartment is great for the price, and the upgrades are quality done. The layout is better than the “standard” one that you see at every other apartment. LOVE the extra storage on the balcony! I NEVER heard my neighbors, the walls have good insulation. The location is fantastic, they keep the yards and parking lots really clean. The one service request I ever had was completed within 30 minutes of putting it in. Used the pool a few times over the summer and it was never crowded. Amy in the leasing office took great care of me with anything I needed. I truly have absolutely NOTHING negative to say about this place! And I’m pretty picky. Would definitely rent here again if looking for that size apartment.

We really appreciate this review! Thank you so much for taking the time...and we agree-Amy is incredible!
I had lived here for 2 years and recently moved out. I was very upset to get a bill of about $450 for a frayed/stained carpet. I have a dog, I paid the deposit and monthly pet fees just to learn that those fees are for the “privilege” of having a dog. Those were the exact words I was told. I just want to warn other pet owners to be prepared for a lot of extra costs while living here. I also had an issue with them when the complex installed something for radon into my electricity for the building leaving me responsible for the bill. I was told it would only be a few extra dollars a month and ended up paying at least $100 than normal monthly. Randomly my electric all shut off and I learned that that thing they put in the building had a short in it. I brought months of electric bills to the office to show them that the radon thing was the cause of my high electric bill. After about 3-4 months of no response and me reaching out multiple times I was given a $100 credit towards my rent. I had loved this place at first and after these incidents, it definitely rubbed me the wrong way.

Thank you for the feedback. Please feel free to reach out to the regional manager with any concerns.
Management is useless, anything and everything gets resolved at their convenience. We are constantly wrongly over charged fees, and when bringing it to their attention they call themselves a “hot mess”. Apartments are not clean when moving in. A/C units were installed with the wrong pitch so they constantly stop working. Showers are not properly sealed so they constantly grow black mold, ours even had cracks in our tub. They change things constantly without giving a notice, closing the pool on a holiday weekend, removing dumpsters. Doing the bare minimum for their tenants is their last priority. Don’t waste your money, keep looking. Highly regret signing our lease.

I recently moved from Sawmill Commons. When I was provided a renewal for my lease (which went up another$40) I was told I had to renew by the end of February and i was told there was no month to month lease options. So once I did not resign I considered that my notification of moving out. They still are charging me for an entire month which I was not in the apartment, plus a $200 month to month lease fee. During these times of financial uncertainty i find this to show the true character of this company. GREEDY, GREEDY, GREEDY.

I am so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your end experience at Sawmill Commons. We strive to provide excellent service to our residents and visitors. Yes, we do require a written 60 day notice so that we have time to re-rent the apartment home. It is very difficult for us to rent an apartment with only a 15 day notice. It is not in the best interest of our residents or our business to assume or guess at anything. That is why we ask for this information in writing. If you would like to discuss your concerns, please feel free to reach out to the Regional Manager at 614-228-5331.
Do not trust the management of Sawmill Commons, or the CASTO company. Also, this area is not as safe as it seems. One night over a dozen cars were broken into (see photos), probably because the area is not well lit at night. I lived in Sawmill commons for two years, and it was a miserable time. During the second year living there, I heard from the neighbor that full renovations were going to take place and that everyone would be forced to move out or to a new unit. I should have received notice from the office before hearing this from a neighbor. Then the lies started. I was told that renovations were not going to commence until July of that year - a month before our lease was set to end. However, they started doing major work in April. This was a big problem because my partner worked from home at the time and they were literally jackhammering the concrete floors around and above us for hours during the day. The management also caused major disruptions by replacing our windows and sliding glass door while still living there, forcing us to pay someone to watch our dog during the day. The workers were rude and one of the painters even threatened to beat me up when I asked him why he was scrapping the floor (extremely loud) at 7:30 am. Trash was left everywhere, including broken glass. These months of renovations were some of the most disruptive living conditions I have ever experienced.

Been here over a year now, and it has been a great experience. The staff is absolutely phenomenal, they know who you are, what you do, and really make you feel like a friend and not just Apt #XYZ. Any time I had an issue or didn't know how to proceed with something, they picked up the phone and walked me through everything. The maintenance team is extremely responsive and very courteous, and is 24/7. The gym is pretty big for the community, and is never that busy. The pool is clean, and so are the grounds. The staff here really does a great job at making this place feel like a true home and not a budget apartment community. You really can't beat the charm and price of this place in the Dublin area!
Sawmill Commons has been a superb place for us to reside these past 2 years. Deane leads a friendly team in the leasing office. Jordan helped us find a perfect two-bedroom apartment, and she has also organized fun (and often delicious) resident activities throughout the year. Maintenance personnel have provided prompt repairs and routine service throughout our stay. The apartments are walkable to groceries, the library, and other day-to-day needs, and the neighboring areas are great for walking and recreating with the family. We have lived in other communities around Columbus and the eastern US, and this community is truly exemplar and one of the best.
Okay, so I honestly really only have very positive things to say here. I've lived here for about a year, and the only reason I'm leaving is because I'm being transferred for work. If you're looking to move to Dublin, this is the place. Trust me, I've visited almost every apartment in this city in prep for moving here, and I absolutely love it. Here's your basics: -Great community. Everyone I've met here is super friendly. I'm a 20 something young professional, and there are plenty of families, younger folks, and older couples as well. I enjoy peace and quiet, and this provided it. -AMAZING STAFF. My POC was Jordan. She always remembered my name, my situation, and was always very personable. She was super flexible with my move in and exit. The staff here is great. -Safe and quiet. It's close enough to Sawmill that you aren't off the beaten path, but it's nestled back and away from road noise. There's a park, bars, a kroger, and a Walmart all within walking distance. -SPACIOUS. I've yet to find another apartment with as much space as this one. -Affordable. I had a roommate so that helped, but Dublin isn't cheap. I was just a few months into my new job moving in here and I never had a problem paying bills. -Parking. I never worried about finding a spot. -Pool. The pool is great. They usually have folks checking access cards so there wasn't ever a problem with unauthorized guests. Cons: This is an honest review. I wasn't paid to write this. So to balance the great, here are some cons. -Kitchen. My last place had an open concept. This galley style was a little too cramped for my taste, and thus I never really cooked here. -All electric. Showers were luke warm and there wasn't much in the way of temperature control on the sinks. -Patio. Don't get me wrong, the patios are AMAZING, spacious? and great for hosting. Our wooden surrounding however was not in the best shape. -Small toilets. I'm a big guy and they felt small. Mine often ran (but then again I never put in a maintenance request so take that as you will). Overall, I love this apartment. I would stay here longer if I could. Casto in general does a great job, and my stay here was wonderful. If you're wondering about crime, I never had any issues, but there was one time that unsavory characters showed up, but police were on scene almost immediately. I would not be concerned about this at all. I would raise a family here if I could. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
Love the area of the apartments and single bedroom has washer and dryer in it!
Property management is always cheerful and willing to help out when needed. Grounds are well maintained, fitness center and pool are fairly new. I looked at several places before selecting Sawmill Commons for the size of the apartments and all the amenities included in the price. Close to many restaurants and shopping as well as 270 and 315.
HI, MY NAME IS DAN AND I HAVE BEEN LIVING @ SAWMILL COMMONS FR ALMOST 7 YEARS , IVE NEVER LIVED AT A PLACE WHERE THEY TREAT ME WITH RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING..THERE HAS BEEN TIMES WHEN IVE BEEN LATE ON MY RENT AND GAVE ME GRACE PERIOD TO PAY LATE..OTHER THAN THAT THE PROPERTY IS WELL MAINTAINED, MAINTANCE IS PROMPT IN FIXING REPAIRS WHEN NEEDED, AND IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY , MAINTANCE DOESNT WASTE ANYTIME TO GET THE PROBLIEM FIXED ....AREA IS QUITE WITH NO PROBLEMS AND THE POOL AREA IS FAIRLY NEW WITH UPDATES.. THEY ALWAYS HAVE PARTIES TO GET PEOPLE TOGETHER AND MINGLE...IVE NEVER OWNED A HOME, BUT I WILL CALL SAWMILL COMMONS APARTMENT , " MY HOME " !
While searching for an apartment in the Dublin area. I viewed many before I found my home. Its location can't be beat, its within walking distance of many fine restraunts and shopping venues. The complex it self offers many benifits from a work out facility, to the swimming pool and pinic areas. They are all well maintained and affordable. Plus the staff arrange occasional parties that they cater and provide entertainment. It really gives you a sense of belonging to the community. I've lived here happily for the past three years.
I live with my girlfriend and our dog. In a one bedroom, it's not bad. Needs a light in the living room and bedroom
I visited several communities around the nw Columbus. Hands down Sawmill Commons was the best possible deal for me. I met with a leasing consultant who was very nice and professional. I didn't have an appointment and she stopped everything to meet with me and showed me around. Everything on my move in check out list was perfect. No complaints. My apartment was very clean and even though the building is around 25 yrs old, it is in great condition. I particularly like how quiet it is at night. I have been there a week and literally have not heard a sound from anyone. Yesterday, I went in the office and the staff remembered my name. The apartment is spacious with all the utilities needed, it has a nice storage unit on my balcony and a beautiful clubhouse and pool. I have already recommended Sawmill Commons to a couple people.
staff very rude would not call me back still have not heard from them .
