Scholars Corner is a great place to live - it's comfortable, clean, well-maintained and quiet. Transportation, shopping, and Whole Foods are 2-3 minutes walk away. Upper management and maintenance are responsive and professional.

The staff are very friendly and professional and the people I have met living here are friendly too. The location of Scholars Corner Apartments is close to everything, stores, trains, buses, etc., very convenient.

The Scholars Corner apartment community is safe, the location is excellent, and the staff are very nice.

Management is responsive to tenant needs, but age of this World War I era building imposes some limits on what can be done. Building is safe, generally quiet, and neighbors are friendly but not intrusive.

Scholars Corner is an older but well-maintained building, VERY convenient to public transportation. Management is fairly responsive and residents are courteous and friendly, helpful when needed. Because it is an older building, there is more space between floors which reduces noise coming from above and below.

Scholars Corner Apartments is a great place to stay. Ive been here for 2 months now and the people within the building are extremely friendly. The location is perfect and right in the middle of everything. Loving it so far.

I have lived here for many years, and while the building is older, management is responsive to any issues and I am quite comfortable here.

I like that the community is relatively safe. I also like that the shopping areas and restaurants are convenient and within close walking distance if you don't own a vehicle.

I have been a resident for three months and had a very good experience. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently. Hallways and lobby are always neat and clean. Office Staff are very polite and know residents by name. Safe clean experience !

This is an older but well-maintained apartment building with GREAT accessibility to public transportation. Shopping for all basic household needs is within walking distance or a 10 minute bus ride. Safe environment with diverse and friendly neighbors.

Scholars Corner is residential building with character. Convenient to shopping, transportation and many restaurants. The Property Manager has been personable, professional and extremely helpful. Maintenance is expedient and performs their tasks quickly and well. The tenants I've met have been very nice.

I have lived at Scholars Corners for some time. The staff is responsive to issues and professional, rent is comparable to others in the area. Although it is an older building, maintenance attends to any issues. I have no complaints.

This place is in need of better management. They last manager never communicated with me and was very unprofessional. Communication among tenant and maintenance also needs to be improved along with the common area in the building.

The apartment is really nice. Lots of nature light, rooms are a decent size. The community is a nice area in Hyde Park. Lots of shopping and businesses within walking distance.

Altho this is a World War I era building, it has been well-maintained and professionally managed. While rents are not unreasonable, there are two additional fees (service and insurance) which I experienced as "hidden" fees. At least one on-line renter has commented negatively about the noise of the nearby train. This noise is intermittent and the kind that one can easily habituate to. On the positive side, compared to other nearby, more modern high-rises, there is more space between floors which seems to add to sound insulation between apartments Staff members are helpful and friendly, and the residents get along well (despite the aforementioned mask issue)..

The apartment was clean and in good working order upon arrival. Office and maintenance staff were cordial and responsive. A great experience overall.

Building is clean and quiet. Property manager Ina is available and always ready to handle your requests and answer questions. Maintenance is prompt. Apartment has been well maintained, with new paint and carpet. Great place to live.

Amazon community within the building and love the location. Front desk staffing changes frequently. Less than satisfactory laundry room.

Have had a most difficult time in this apartment. No heat in the bathroom, which has still not been addressed. Windows outdated which means a drafty house. This winter was especially difficult. As you can imagine my heating bills are astronomical. As a senior, it hasn't been a pleasant stay. Rent is raised annually.

My boyfriend and I lived at Scholars Corner for 1 year (2016-2017) while we were living in Chicago to complete clinical rotations. Our experience there was incredible and we would have stayed longer if we weren't leaving Chicago. Sure the building is old, but it is extremely well maintained and very clean. We had a corner apartment so we had a view on both downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan. The lobby has lockers for parcel pending so you can order anything online and have the piece of mind that items were locked. The property manager is very helpful and kind. Maintenance was also excellent. We had 2 small issues during our stay (a leak in our sink and a problem with our shower drain) and both were fixed within a couple of hours after we submitted a complaint online. We loved living in Hyde Park. The building is on a relatively quiet street, but steps away from Whole Foods and just a block away from 53rd street (where most restaurants and stores in Hyde Park are located). It is also only a 5-minute walk to Lake Michigan, which is great if you like to bike, walk, or run by the lake. We did not have a car while living in Chicago so I cannot comment on parking. However, the #6 express bus (to downtown) and #172 (to University of Chicago) are right across the street. Overall, we highly recommend Scholars Corner!

I lived at Scholars Corner a decade ago, when I was in school at the U of C. I loved it-- the view of the lake was a constant source of joy for me. The amenities of the building were up-to-date and impressive, and the rent was very reasonable. Honestly, it was the only place I cried over when I eventually moved out!

I lived in here for five years and I absolutely love it here. The only reason I'm moving is because the parking situation in Hyde Park is horrible but that's out if Scholars Corner control. The leasing manager is very friendly and response to calls quickly. Maintance team is amazing. Requests are usually taking care of within 48 hours. The building is cleaned and I don't have any issues with noisey neighbors (at least not on my floor). My only complaints are that it's an old building so it's gets draftly in the winter and the elevators are old (vintage style) so every now and then they go out but the problem never lasts for more then a day. Also, since Hyde Park is gentrifying, my rent goes up $20 every year. If you can deal with the parking and can afford the rent, I highly recommend Scholars Corner!

My apartment is perfectly unique. From the moment I walked in, my eyes were glued to the view. An ideal picture of the city skyline, even more remarkable when the sun was setting. When I pulled my eyes away from the window I looked around the rest of the place only to find every corner filled with character. Right then it felt like home. Friendly staff and a perfect location sealed the deal. I can get downtown, by train, in less than 10 minutes and I have a short walk to Lake Michigan. What more could a person ask for?

Have lived in the building for over a year now and have really enjoyed the location within Hyde Park. I can access the lake front path for riding/running every morning and am two blocks away from the commercial centers on 53rd and 57th. The office and maintenance staff are extremely nice and have helped me even the smallest of requests. I'm renting a 1 bedroom unit within the building and appreciate the reasonable cost for living in the Hyde Park.
