Property Ratings at Scotsdale Apts
Staff is fantastic to work with, apartments are clean, good sized and continually being renovated. Great price compared to surrounding complexes in Iowa City/Coralville area.
Apartment flooded for two years before fixed and of course they try to charge you for their negligence for "damage" beyond your control. Staff is nice, only one of the repair guys was ever the one to fix anything and he definitely needs a raise, housekeeping was wonderful and location was good. Quiet and nice place, I wouldn't really recommend it if you are getting a basement room since it floods but otherwise its probably fine.
My husband and I lived here for three years while I was in law school. We had a great experience overall. Our biggest issue was some plumbing problems, but the maintenance staff always came promptly, although they didn’t always fully resolve the issues. For example, our bathtub never held water while we lived there. We got our entire deposit back with no issues. Definitely recommend if you’re looking to save money. There are nicer apartments in the area, but they will cost you significantly more. I had the cheapest rent out of all my friends and had two bedrooms instead of one.
Amazing experience, the grounds are always well groomed, you wont see any trash anywhere on the parking lot or grass area, during winter they are on top of the snow and ice on walkways and parking lot. Laundry in the same building that serves 6 apartments, they have housekeeping staff that keeps laundry room, and the main door to enter the building spotless. Staff is super caring and friendly, they go above and beyond. Apartment is very spacious and great lighting. Appliances are dated but maintenance is a phone call away, if you need them they get to you super fast. It sounds unbelievable but it has been the best experience I have ever had at an apartment complex. Highly recommend this property.
I lived at Scotsdale for four years and really enjoyed my time there. The apartments aren't fancy but are well maintained. The company continues to make improvements (new decking, new doors and trim, etc.) and was responsive any time I encountered a problem. When our freezer started to fail, I notified them and they quickly replaced the appliance. Communication was very easy (call or email) and I always received a response within a day. The apartments are well laid out with lots of storage areas and you get a nice amount of space for the price. They are also conveniently located by two bus stops so commuting to and from school is a breeze. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and the complex isn't far from shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. When I moved out, I received my entire deposit back without issue. Overall I would highly recommend Scotsdale to anybody looking for an clean, affordable apartment in the west Iowa City/Coralville area!
Apartment on 1st floor flooded multiple times. Neighbors next door had flooding too. Management never fixed the problem. They just gave a fan without sealing up the floor. Maintenance is fairly quick to fix repairs but there were too many repairs.
I love living here. I live in a bottom apartment, so there's no deck. Heating and electricity are about 100 a month. I use my air conditioning a lot, so you could definitely save money by being more frugal. The people at the front desk are very helpful. While moving in the maintenance man helped me park my moving truck. My car died over the winter and they helped me jump it. My dishwasher was leaking and they came immediately to fix it. Whenever I'm in the front office they ask me if I need to have anything fixed. My neighbors are mostly young families and graduate students. I'm going to be moving after graduate school and I will miss this place.
Don't get a lower level apartment, because you'll be heating and cooling the hallway. One of the apartment vents goes right out of the apartment. They try to say the extra gas and electric is hardly anything, but I've compared it to neighbors. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.
Title says most of it. I was here mostly for the location and ease of using the interstate to commute for work. Buildings are beginning to show their age, and there are issues with the plumbing system especially. More often than not I would have someone else's fecal matter in my toilet due to clogged piping and having it come back up the system. Sinks didn't drain very well either, and the shower emptied 20 minutes after use. HVAC was unpredictable at best, and the only thing I didn't have issues with was the refrigerator. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and don't plan on doing much else there it's an alright place, but if you tend to spend a lot of time in your residence I would suggest searching elsewhere.

I have not moved in yet. It is overall a good apartment from my first tour about the apartment with the office staff. I hope the maintenance service will be good after I move in.
So disgusting services. Maybe the boss need to change the manager.
