Property Ratings at Scottsdale 59
I moved into Scottsdale 59 recently from another complex in the area. It has been night and day difference. I was used to waiting 2-3 days for maintenance requests to be completed, and Scottsdale 59 had my last one completed in under 2 hours. The staff is super friendly and willing to help whenever asked. It was a welcome change from the stuffy and rude staff at my prior complex. The location is great too! It is a quiet area, but close to get into downtown Phoenix, the airport, and Scottsdale. Loving my time here so far and I look forward to continuing to call Scottsdale 59 "home."
Nothing but good things to say about living here! Starting off with my amazing experience dealing with the leasing office, Sarah was phenomenal. After telling Sarah about my horrible experience with a previous complex, she made sure that moving into Scottsdale 59 would be a breeze (the way it should be). Before I even applied for the apartment she let me tour it, day of the tour she noted that the carpet needed to be replaced in the bedroom and that some paint touch ups needed to be done. With in the matter of a day she had both of those things done, and even better, she called me to let me know it was taken care. On top of that she made sure that pest control came before I moved in. She took the time to make sure I was being taken care of, and make the apartment perfect for move-in 3 short days after I applied. I love the apartment itself! Super clean place with hard wood floors and gorgeous appliances (including a gas range stove top!!) The biggest perk, knowing I have neighbors but never being able to hear them because the walls aren’t paper thin. The complex also has quite a bit of fun amenities including; a good dog park, cool pool, lots of places to lounge, barbecues all over the complex, package concierge, and an amazing gym. If you’re looking for a fun complex in south Scottsdale with a leasing office/maintenance team that cares, this place hits the jackpot!
I expected real quality for my money, everything that could possibly go wrong did.
My boyfriend and I moved into these apartments 3 months ago with the help of Gena. She was very welcoming, knowledgeable and genuine, along with the rest of the staff/maintenance, especially Joe, he’s head maintenance. He’s very kind, and is always willing to help if there is a problem. The apartment itself is in the middle of renovations and they’re looking great. They’re very respectful when it comes to working, they never start working until after 9 AM. The location is the best thing about the complex, just five minutes from Old Town Scottsdale & Papago Park, Fry’s is walking distance along with a few other restaurants around. The community is great, and with a big age gap it can be hard to be friends with your neighbors, fortunately we are in a great building (Building E) we often have weekly dinners with the whole block, we have pool parties, bbqs and outings at different restaurants. This complex has given me some of my best memories and friends. I’m so thankful for Gena and Scottsdale59. I highly recommend sighing a lease before is too late, with the renovations, apartment parties and friendly staff, there’s no reason why to look anywhere else. Thank you Scottsdale59!
Found this place by accident and decided to trust my gut instinct and signed a 13 month lease immediately I have been living here at Scottsdale 59 for 3 months now since Nov 30th This place is ultra clean, fully remodeled , modern and filled with some eye popping amenities with a mid century modern feel. I haven't experienced nothing but fairness and completely honesty with the willingness to help our residents from our property management team . Scott, Rickie, Gina and the whole Baron Staff work hard to get this property up to speed and yes they do follow through if something needs to happen.or done Nothing but professionalism and caring from all of them . So the question. Would you make this place your home ? Why not? I DID and I sure do enjoy a resort modern feel at Scottsdale 59. If you want more of in your face review stop by the fire pit next to the pool at night and ask if Scottdale 59 is a place to call home. Because it is home to me... a satisfied resident residing at " E" building...
Moved in the beginning of July after the leasing office worked with me to find solutions to some of my concerns. Since I have moved in there have been MANY regrets. Getting the items on my move in checklist fixed took weeks. After the first initial repair of some of those items, 3 items continued to be non-functional and I am still trying to get some items repaired. The kicker is when our gas went out on Sunday, September 17th. For 3 days we did not have gas OR hot water. Everyday they told us it would be fixed. We had our hot water returned after 3 days but continue to have absolutely no gas. For a while they offered pizza or sub sandwiches at night, but that was only for 3 nights. We have been offered no compensation or timeline of when this will be fixed. Saturday night we received a text and email saying that we should probably go out and buy a hot plate or other form of cookware because they know it will be SEVERAL more days till we have gas back. Oh but they did say they would kindly reimburse us for the cookware we have to purchase and deduct from next months rent. Golly gee! Reimbursement to buy something that I only need- because you can't get our gas fixed. The fact that they have not put their tenants first and done the right thing by offering some sort of compensation is inexcusable. Today is September 25th, our gas has been out for over a week with absolutely no timeline communicated on when this will be restored. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. I am less than 3 months in and locked in for a while. Don't make the same mistake.
Bed bugs, roaches, horrible maintenance staff, ac units from the 60s, hard water like crazy, rude property manager Tammy, constant remodel work/ little to no notice of worker entry in our units, hired Blue Steel Security (have yet to see any security on premises in over a month now.) Increasing rent prices/utilities won't be included anymore so be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for a/c that isn't cold and runs constantly thermostats are just there to look cool I guess, the roofers hired recently where definitely unlicensed mexicans, they where loud, messy, peepers, disgusting pigs, and they left trash on the roofs that still blows everywhere when we get strong winds, they knocked so many debris into my vents and stovepipe... That's why you cover them when you're working on them. The plumbing issues aren't any better by a long shot. They where shutting the water off daily between 8am-6pm for a couple months, now it's every Wednesday, a bit I've had so many problems since they started the plumbing on the roofs. Plus living on the second floor with them up there is like having the roof cave in around you when you're trying to sleep at 6 or 7 am. As a current locked in resident before the buyout, I'm running as far away from this place as possible when my lease is up. Myself and many current residents strongly suggest finding somewhere else to rent. New paint and new patio furniture complex wide isn't worth an almost $300 increase in rent for 1 beds plus utils. If it wasn't utils included I would have never moved in in the first place. Be very weary of the 59, because it feels more like a forced unwanted 69 until my lease is up.
There have been car break-ins on a weekly basis. Find somewhere else that's less seedy and takes security seriously.
New management has changed . There are many issues that need to be addressed.
These apartments are one of the few complexes left in Scottsdale that still includes ALL utilities. It is an older complex and with that comes the usual issues. Currently, they are remodeling the apartments to full vinyl faux wood floors, repainted counters and cabinets to a more modern palette. The complex includes plenty of gas grills, a laundry room, a water machine that fills a gallon/ 25 cents, a heated pool (in winter) and hot tub (pretty huge!), and plenty of greenery.
