Property Ratings at MAA Seasons
I lived at Seasons at Celebrate (phase II) for just over four years, and I found my time in the community generally acceptable. Overall, the community is conveniently located, usually pretty quiet and has decent living spaces with good amounts of storage, and the screened-in patios on nearly every unit are a nice touch. With that said, I've lived in some terrible apartment complexes previously, and these are far and away the best I've lived in over the last decade, but there's nothing super luxurious about them. The appliances are super basic, the spaces generally lack natural light as a result of their configuration, and the "hardwood" flooring in each unit is cheaply made. One of my biggest problems I had while living here was that the appliances in our unit were clearly aging and ready to be replaced just a year after moving in. Our dishwasher started getting really loud and the dryer stopped working efficiently. Management refused to replace them, despite their admission that they should probably be replaced, and stated they would only do so if they stopped functioning entirely. Community amenities also regularly fell into disrepair even though they added a "community fee" to our monthly rent to cover such things. It was not unusual to see the pool turn an unpleasant green before it was opened for the season, and anyone who lived at this community can tell you that getting management to fix/reinstall the parking gates was a 2-3 year saga that only was resolved right before I moved out. It's really disappointing because the maintenance and management staff were always very friendly and responsive to requests and questions -- it just seemed like there was never any urgency to get crucial community amenities fixed when they needed it. I wouldn't have been so bothered by the slowness to fix things if they hadn't also changed their lease payment policy a year after we moved in. Whereas previously they would allow a 5-day grace period to pay your rent at the beginning of each month, they changed this up to a "pay before the end of the day on the first or we tack on a 10% late fee, no questions asked" policy. Demanding expediency from your tenants to pay up when you refuse to fix important things like the parking lot gate in a timely manner is certainly a choice by management. Lastly, be sure to ask about the costs of living with pets. Dropping $400 as a non-refundable pet "deposit" plus a monthly "pet rent" fee for just one cat always felt insulting.

Call to confirm the pricing in the rent specials. Went to see apartments and nothing is accurate. There is no $200 off monthly rent and prices are higher than advertised. It was a waste of time. It's nice but not worth it given the area . Plus any type of dishonesty turns me off as it shows what you're going to have to deal with once you get in.

My fiancé and I have lived here for about 4 months and we do love it. It’s peaceful and very pretty. The Apartments are very nice and maintenance is always fast and reliable. The grounds are kept in great condition, other than maybe the breezeways needing a good power washing. Since I have lived here the gates in and out of phase one have been broken, which is unfortunate. Also the trash, I don’t think residents always understand that you have to compact the trash after throwing in your bags, so sometimes the compactor is overflowing which I believe could be avoided if people used the compactor the correct way. The recycling is always full as well which maybe need to be emptied more often. Over all the experience here is wonderful, just a few minor things that could be fixed. :)

Hi, thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help! We hope you have a great day!
Overall, the property and area is a good mix of quiet and busy. The environment feels very safe and comfortable. The other residences and staff are very friendly and open.
Very good overall. Repairs done quickly and efficiently. Automobile Gate in Phase 1 is down more than up. My breezeway really needs cleaning like with a pressure washer. My breezeway light is out and the others on my level are dim because of bug accumulation.
Very easy living with calm surroundings. I can occasionally hear my neighbors behind me. But other than that it is a very nice area to live in.
Good but parking is almost always an issue where there are not enough spaces. Otherwise it's a great living community
In general it is perfect. Great location, great amenities. The one big problem is the garbage! We either need more dumpsters or more pickups. It is not adequate and we are constantly being threatened with fines if you leave your garbage outside. I do not do this, but I am afraid of being charged with an assessment.
We like the apartment ant its amenities. Our location overlooking the pool is perfect! The outdoor grills are right outside our doorway. During the busy season we can just look or an opening.
Community is very nice and maintenance arrives in no time at all if a problem arises.
Is a nice place to live. The apartment is nice and comfortable. the maintenance crew is quick to respond. The only negatives about the community is the gates often do not work properly and the parking situation has worsened. there are numerous cars and trucks parked that have expired license places, inspections or no plates on them. this takes up spaces for street legal cars that are being used.
Quiet, clean, fabulous amenities and friendly staff.
My tenure here has been short, only a little more than 4 months. However, most experiences as a resident have been positive. Any maintenance requests have been addressed promptly and satisfactorily. I am particularly pleased with the regular groundskeeping work; and with the road/sidewalk maintenance during snowy and icy weather conditions. The one item of concern I have is ut seems that the garbage and recycling faciluty us not adequate for a complex this size. It is frustrating to not be able to recycle plastics, cardboard and glass.
During my stay it been wonderful experience since the last nine years.
The grounds surrounding the complex are very well maintained. The leasing staff is knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions.
I am very pleased with my living experience. Staff very professional, property maintained well and my needs are met at this complex. It's location is accessible to all.
I want to thank the entire staff for their patience and understanding during the federal government shutdown. This means a lot to me. As always, I find it very peaceful and love the aoartment. The maintenance staff are always willing to fix what is needed and it doesn't take them long at all. I would recommend Seasons at Celebrate VA to anyone that needs a recommended place to call home. Thanks for your hard work and dedication.
The neighbors are pleasant and respectful. Everyone in my builing will try to keep the sound level low, so that it will not disturb their neighbor. I have also found that during our inclimate weather this year, people looked out for eachother.
The property is decent and well kept. However the constant rent increase is concerning as well as the amount turn over in management. The quality in maintance has gone down.
It's been very pleasant, no issues with the apartment, appliances or billing. Only downside has been the noise of dogs barking in a neighboring unit.
Very clean and maintained. The office and maintenance staff are very knowledgeable and friendly .
The apartment itself is great, the location is perfect, and amenities offered by the property are good. My concerns involve the other residents. Too many of them take advantage of the offerings of the property, they leave trash all surrounding the garage disposals, and residents with pets for the most part never pick up after their animals. Most of the grass areas, and the pet area and continually covered with pet waste.
Its pretty nice. The office and maintenance has been better but I'm disappointed in the upkeep of the gym and probably the pool when it opens based on last summer.
I haven't encountered any problems yet. Fairly quiet living arrangement.
Seasons is a fairly good place to live. It's a bit pricey, but the amenities inside are nice. The staff are helpful and repairs are done very quickly and politely. The negatives? The security gate is inconsistent and far more likely to be found wide open than shut and locked. There are only two garbage dumpsters for the entire property, which is too low, especially when they are compacting garbage dumpsters that frequently break. Additionally, the parking situation is terrible. Instead of assigned parking, residents are left to scramble trying to find a spot near their building. Renters with multiple cars, including work vehicles etc., take up all the spaces that should be available for others. As a resident paying a premium apartment price, I should be guaranteed a spot in front of my building. This is far and away the biggest problem with Seasons at Celebrate Virginia.
Very pleased with apartment interior, leasing staff and amenities. Maintenance dept. needs improvement
I loved Seasons the minute I walked through the property. I enjoyed the friendly approach of the staff. I could not wait to see the layout of the apartment. I fell in love with it immediately. The property is cared for at all times. A beautiful place to retire and enjoy senior life.
It has been great living at Seasons. I really like the location, community, and amenities.
The location of my apartment has been quiet and pleasant. Location is convenient. Apartment home is modern. Patio is large for an apartment. Amenities are nice. Office staff and maintenance are friendly and professional. Outdoor areas are maintained nicely and clean. I have very few negative comments ... I am annoyed that I pay for trash services and had to drive my Christmas tree to the dump this year. The mandatory cable television is a waste of money for me as I pretty much never watch live TV. I use and pay for internet options like Netflix and hulu. Last which is a huge issue for me (but likely something the apartment cannot control) the ONLY internet service available in our area is COX. The service is horrible. Not being able to choose a better provider is a huge negative. Overall my experience has been positive
Great apartments, unless you try to leave, even with the alleged transfer policy they will do everything they can to make it difficult, which is strange because you'll be spending your money with the same management company, just in a different city.
Property Manager at MAA Seasons, Responded To This Review
Thank you for being honest about the issues you faced during your transfer process. We know how difficult moving can be, and our staff works hard to make it as seamless as possible for our residents. However, it sounds like we may not have explained our transfer process clearly. Please accept our apologies, and call us at 866-620-1130 to discuss how we can make things right.
"RENTERS BEWARE" stay completely away from this apartment complex they will deceive you from the first moment they introduce themselves. Gated complex? I think not, the gates were left wide open or broken more than they were closed in the year that we lived there. When we signed our lease We were told if we pay the $150 non-refundable deposit it would cover everything upon our departure. Come to find out it covers absolutely nothing. And I mean absolutely nothing we were even told at the end of our lease it covers nothing all it was $150 profit more into the apartment complex his pocket ( like the over 22k in rental fees isnt enough) Since moving from the apartments we have received a bill for lightbulbs at the cost of six dollar a lightbulb which no light bulbs were burnt out in the apartment when we left and if they didn't like the bulbs that I had put in why didn't they give me my old ones back. They charged us for drip pans on the oven for something that cost roughly a dollar apiece they charge for something like six dollars apiece None of this was explained upfront, basically they are making a previous renters restore the apartments back to 100% new but on the renters dime. Our carpeting had stains throughout the apartment when we moved in when we moved out they're charging us for new carpeting I've never heard of any apartment doing this especially when we were told if we pay the $150 nonrefundable deposit upfront we had nothing to worry about nothing but complete lies We have requested a copy of our lease multiple times and no one will provide it so I will say once again stay completely clear of this apartment complex they are crooked and absolutely not trustworthy do not let the pleasant appearance of the exterior of the buildings fool you in the thinking this is some family oriented type of apartment complex because I can assure you that it's not I will say once again "RENTER BEWARE!"

We sincerely apologize that we failed to meet your expectations at Seasons at Celebrate Virginia. We do our very best ensure that our residents have a pleasant experience. We regret to hear that we failed to do so in this case.
Luxury living ? I have been a resident at Seasons Celebrate Virginia going on 8 months and I must say it is by far the best place I’ve ever lived! The sales manager treated me like I already lived there when I came in to inquire about the apartments. She always has a smile and a friendly conversation to share. This is a very quiet place to live. The grounds are very well maintained and the landscaping is beautiful! The layout of my apartment is wonderful. My apartment is very spacious, with a lot of storage space. I have a screened in patio, which I just love sitting out reading or sometimes napping without the insects bugging me. I find myself looking out of my window just admiring the place. I’m so glad I chose Seasons Celebrate Virginia to call home. It is conveniently located around everything a person could ever need or want, for instance banking, shopping, restaurants and the interstate. The clubhouse is always clean and is a wonderful place to entertain. It has a pool table and an old school Pac man video game. I must confess, there are days when I walk over to the club house to play Pac man. The clubhouse across the street even has a virtual game room. That came in handy and was a fun-filled day when I had my young nephews over to visit. There’s a movie theatre that residents can use also. The clubhouse can be rented by residents to hold gatherings. The pool area is wonderful. It’s always clean and has very comfortable pool furniture to lay back and relax. They even provide pool toys! The cabana is adjacent to the pool area. It has a large flat screen TV mounted over the fire place and very comfortable seats to lounge. It’s definitely a nice place to cook on the grill, watch TV or lay out in the sun. Living at Seasons Celebrate Virginia is like living at a resort. The maintenance guys are great! I put in my request and they are there either that day or the next day and the problem is fixed. They come in with a smile and friendly conversation also. The grounds are very well lit at night. I sometimes get in late and feel real safe walking to my apartment or to the gym alone. Seasons Celebrate Virginia is a Great Place to Live! If you are looking for a luxury place to live, stop by Seasons Celebrate Virginia and see the beauty, you will fall in love at first sight!
Celebrate Virginia is a luxury apartment that offers a 2 bedroom apapartment for about 1500/ month. The complex offers very good amenities that include gym, pool, movie theater, game room, etc.
These apartments have such a great location...nestled amongst the trees by Celebrate Virginia, but just seconds away from shopping, dining, and more! The apartments were designed with high end touches, from the appliances to the lighting to the flooring. The closets are spacious and each unit includes a full size washer and dryer. The staff does an exceptional job of maintaining the property - both the buildings and the grounds. Many popular amenities include the car wash, saltwater pool, gym, and theater. Overall, this complex gets an A !
I went from living in a two bedroom two-story townhouse for less money to a smaller one bedroom apartment that was more expensive which made me really nervous but I've been here six months now and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely love my kitchen with the huge granite countertops and stainless steel appliances but my favorite part of the entire thing is that I get my own full-size washer and dryer, garden bath tub and screened in porch! Practicality wise I love that it's considered a green community. My electric bills have been between 50 and $80 a month depending on the season which is amazing seeing as I was paying almost $200 a month in a townhouse that was older and not green at all. Being a single woman I also love that it's a gated community. I feel totally safe and secure coming home late at night. I'll be staying here for a long time to come !
First and foremost, The Seasons is a very nice community to live in. This is in terms of curb appeal and location (close to 95, downtown, Central Park). But for the high costs associated with living here I often ask myself if it's worth it since I can get a 2 bedroom elsewhere for the same cost or less. I'll break it down to you. Safety: This place is very safe which is why I chose the community. I've noticed a few shady people coming and going as of late (since spring) but I don't feel unsafe here. This is a gated community and it seems like the gates are more than often left open which is odd considering that I chose to live here because it's gated. Also, on the Series 1 side the gate box has not been updated to call you if you have a visitor so this forces you to give out the gate code, so basically everyone who goes in and out of here has the gate code which negates the need for the gates. Parking: This is hit or miss. There is no visitor parking and if you come home after 6:30-7:00 PM you might be very hard pressed to find a spot. I often see unfamiliar cars parked here and I don't know what to make of it to be honest. This can get frustrating pretty often. Maintenance: Is very good. I have not had an issue w/ this since I've lived here and whenever I needed something done they were quick to fix it and very professional. I hope they keep up the great job that they do! Neighborhood: This is what boggles my mind. I notice people come and go here very often, it doesn't seem like anyone sticks around longer than their first lease. I thought it was due to the transientness that is Northern Virginia but I've heard that rent increases significantly when your lease expires so people often chose to leave. Again, this is just what I've heard but I guess I'll find out when mine is up later this year. If you like having consistency in neighbors and so forth it doesn't appear that is the case here. Mic.: You can only get Cox cable/internet here, you'll pay $40 a month in your rent which covers out of the wall bare-bones basic cable and keep in mind you'll fork over even more money to Cox for internet, expanded cable, HD box, etc. The complex charges you $4.95 a month for a paper bill every month regardless of whether you want a paper bill. Ironically, you can only pay your rent online (ach) or over the phone with a card for a $19.95 surcharge, this makes me feel like I'm being nickeled and dimed.
