Nestled along the northeastern tip of Staten Island, Saint George is a historic neighborhood with an array of rental options, many of which overlook the glistening New York Upper Bay. Saint George has a great combination of old and new with Victorian and Tudor-style houses, cozy apartments, charming studios, waterfront condos, and other styles available for rent. Saint George is one of the most populated neighborhoods in Staten Island and its scenic rental options aren’t the only reason why it’s so trendy.
This historic neighborhood is home to the National Lighthouse Museum, the Staten Island Yankees Ball Park, and the Saint George Theatre, an ornate venue used for concerts, plays, and even television shoots. Global eateries are scattered throughout the neighborhood while Empire Outlets is filled with popular brands and eateries. Along with plenty of parks like North Shore Waterfront Esplanade Park, families appreciate having access to some of the best schools in New York City.

Property Ratings at Seaview Estates
Apartments are small and overpriced say they pass inspection but I don't think they really did. Security watch TV all day they are rude just how management is rude. I don't even want to give it one star but it won't let me submit without no stars
I had enough of this place. Family owned for decades. Dog poop all over. Pathetic guards watch TV all day & don't check the property for ice and safety. At night, there is no safety. The lights are turned off at night to save money, and you can't see anything! We're Gone....
I just left there. Their trying to fix it up. The manager is rude and degrading. Says new owners but it the same family. Check your rental history for fishy stuff if you check it out. Landlord claimed we didn't live there when we did and didn't pay here taxes. Shady people. Security is a fat joke. Window dressing.
Same family owners trying to fix it up. Same useless security that watches TV all day. NO LOCKS on building doors in between that go right up to your bedroom! Lots of unsavory people buying drugs come in and out the back gate.
First of all been here for 4 years and at the beginning the grass was taken care of and it was clean. The carpets in the hallways dirty all the time and the elevators out of service for more than a month. And lets talk about the washer and dryers. Most of the time they don't even work and they are so old you have to pay in quarters(mind you there is a shortage in coins). Management...the worst. I'm looking to leaving soon thank God. The location is fine but the rest not worth it.
A conveniently located and decently priced complex that’s located near mass transit and the SI Ferry that gives easy access to the City. Gated security with onsite laundry rooms, a small gym and nicely maintained interior landscaping with good repair work by the Super & maintenance team when notified of an issue. Security at front desk is totally awesome and very helpful & responsive with any concerns. I’ve been here over 12yrs. With the closeness to the City, close proximity to the area parks, grocery stores and above mentioned items, for me, it’s provides a sense of peace of mind for myself and my two daughters. Plus, if i were to decide to get a pet, that’s an option that I have whereas some locations don’t allow pets.
Compared to the usual New York rates, this apartment comes at a pretty decent cost for the distance and amenities provided. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, the commute is close enough to the ferry for a walk or short bus ride. The building itself can use some work which is being done, but the upkeep is fair and managed well. Laundry within the complex and 24 hr security definitely makes the one feel comfortable and safe.
I can tell that this place was once a gem...massive master bedroom (13x20 ft) and a very comfortable second bedroom perfect for my two boys, plenty of closet space, hard wood flooring with pretty cherry stained inlays, a wide hallway, remnants of crown and picture molding in some rooms and a decent sized kitchen for a NYC apartment. But if you look closely you can see that there are years of rushed patch up jobs that just ruin the aesthetics of what could be a really awesome apartment. The bathroom has mismatched tiles and a tub faucet that just falls right off if the pressure is too high. I asked for the floor to be fixed and the new tile floor was laid over the existing one making it impossible to open the bathroom door because the floor was now 2 inches higher than before - but no worries the landlord sawed off the bottom of the door to rectify that little problem. Base board and picture molding that had been damaged and removed over the years has not been replaced leaving rooms looking a bit haphazard. The kitchen boasts generic factory cabinets with no handles and laminate countertops that are supposed to look like granite (they are pealing by the way) and get ready to wash some dishes because there is no dishwasher . There are upsides...The convenience of living within a 10 minute walk to the Staten Island ferry and having access to multiple bus lines, a supermarket and some grocery stores In addition to the proximity to my kids elementary school is what keeps me here. It's also a fairly quiet neighborhood even with the high school right across the street. I don't pay to heat the apartment which in a place this old would be expensive. In the end it's livable, I'm really into design so I have made the best of it and when I'm financially able I will purchase a home where I can make sure everything is the way I want it to be.
It's okay. I love the location but the apartment is incredibly tiny. And I really miss Manhattan, where I lived for 30 years.
Seaview Estates Management keep the outside/grounds well maintained. But once you step inside you realize that is about as far as their maintenance takes you sadly. My fiancee and I were extremely excited to move into this aparetment but as time has progressed we realized "all that glitters is not gold." We have stayed here and endured because of the close proximity to public transportation for myself and my fiancee. We live on the fourth floor (top) and I will admit we do not have any bug problems, but during the winter we only get hot water at specific times. The odors in the hallways can be a bit overwhelming because they rarely shampoo the carpets, the disheveled look of the entry ways (marks on walls, carpet, etc), the worn down appearance of the inside of the buildings is just unacceptable for the amount of rent we pay monthly.
Walls and floors are thin. Management had a problem with me leaving post dated check for rent while I was on vacation but other than that they have been very friendly. Maintenance is quick! and security is very kind and friendly. St George is convenient to manhattan but there is little grocery shopping or much else. The advertisement mentions a free shuttle which technically exists but is not always readily available. You're better of walking to the ferry. Laundry rooms only have 3 washers and dryers but I've yet to have a problem but I'm sure it is only a matter of time. Overall my experience here has been great, the price is wonderful and worth the commute.
