Most of Barclay Downs is made up of picturesque neighborhoods and luxury mid-rise apartments, but the southern corner of town is equipped with modern commercial developments. Piedmont Town Center and SouthPark Mall, one of North Carolina’s largest and prestigious malls, can be found in this section of the neighborhood. Take a break from shopping and head north of SouthPark Mall to find the family-friendly Symphony Park. With so many great amenities it is no surprise that Barclay Downs is highly regarded among Charlotte natives.

Property Ratings at Selwyn Flats Apartments
You will not sleep if you live here. The noise is worse than anything I've experienced and management is unwilling to do anything about it. I sleep with two pairs of earplugs (silicone over foam). I also run a dehumidifier, a box fan, the HVAC fan, and an air purifier. I still get woken up early. This building is an old wood frame from the 70s with no insulation between floors. They also took out the carpet and put in vinyl, so footsteps above are loud enough to scare pets. It's very overpriced for what it is. You can find an apartment in a newer unit for the same price nearby.

This housing complex is cheap, they just plastered and painted over who used to live here, my tub has been chipping since I moved in, and the floors and walls are cheap. The leasing office doesn't care about complaints and the walls are thin! you can hear your neighbors every move

I'm a nonsmoker and my apartment has smelled like cigarettes since the day I moved in. Food smells from neighbors are very strong and an expensive air purifier has not been able to keep up. Insulation between floors is nonexistent, so I know exactly when my neighbors are home and when they leave. The stomping and banging is VERY loud (even by apartment living standards).

The place has been bought out. The new managers/employees rock! I was at the office on a Sunday (the office is closed Sunday) one of the managers on his day off saw me and went to get his keys to help me with something in the office. It was a small gesture, but it makes those who live here feel important. He helped me on his day off... great staff.
I love this community because of the unbeatable location and price! I'm new to the area and was very pleased when I stopped by here. The staff was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. The floor plan was the perfect size for me and I'm so happy that when I finally move I will have a pool to use!!
Such a beautiful, modern complex , perfect location in Charlotte. Great accommodations for activities on ground and peaceful lounge area ! An absolute hidden treasure behind the brick foundation! Highly recommend this affordable , commendable moderaenized apartment complex !
Antonio and his team are wonderful to work with. The community has a great location, close to shopping and dining. Affordable prices and awesome amenities. Great choice for your move to Charlotte.
I live in a one bedroom apt alto small it seems roomy just three rooms no wasted space its older but well maintained and a great location. In Charlotte it is close to uptown but still far enough away to get some peace and quite it is also in the right area code 28209.
