Hagerstown, MD, is the county seat of Washington County in the western region of the state and Maryland's 18th largest city. Covering an area of 12.91 square miles, the community has a population of 40,638 residents. The city is in close proximity to Frederick, Mount Airy and Westminster, MD. The state of Maryland was one of the country's original colonies, and settlers who arrived in 1736 in western Maryland, then considered a wilderness, were offered land at a very small cost as an enticement to persuade these newcomers to settle in this attractive region
The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, located in Hagerstown's historic City Park, has been praised for being one of the leading small museums in the country. It offers a surprisingly broad variety of fine arts exhibitions for viewers of all ages, housing over 7,000 works of art representing worldwide artists and cultures. The Maryland Theatre is a central feature of the Arts and Entertainment district of the city.

Property Ratings at Seneca Ridge
The fire alarm box in the hallway has been sounding for over 1 month
I can’t say too much about the actual apartment because I never got the chance to move in, however, I can tell you the leasing agent Jackie is extremely unprofessional. I was due to move into a 2 bedroom apartment on October 1, 2021. I paid my deposit in August to hold the apartment AND SIGNED THE LEASE ( which I was told I had to do). Approximately a week after I signed the lease, I received a very non chalant email from Jackie stating that the tenants that lived there were not moving anymore and that my deposit would be returned. Mind you, they put their notice to vacate in and I signed the lease. Not once did she offer to help look for another apartment or do anything for that matter. I already turned my notice to vacate into my current apartment, therefore, I have to be out by Oct 1st. She did not care that I was now going to be without a place to stay because of her. From my understanding, a notice to vacate and lease are both legally binding contracts, which obviously doesn’t mean anything at this complex. When I asked her for her last name and phone number to management, she refused to give it to me. She said she was not “obligated” to give that information. She knows she was wrong, which is probably why she didn’t want to give me any information. I am still going to report her to corporate because she is extremely unprofessional and what happened should have never happened. I was looking forward to moving here, but if “Jackie” is still the leasing agent, be careful. Your signatures and deposits do not mean anything!!!
These apartments look nice but they were cheaply made, it was rushed, everything falls apart. There’s rodents in the apartments and around the complex, it’s over priced.. the office manager is very rude and not helpful at all. The buildings are never cleaned ... and apart from moving here was due to not paying a water bill, now you have to pay for an overpriced dirty apartment and a water bill ... don’t waste your time coming here! Just go rent a house!
The new property Manager Maria is the best!!! My first experience with the previous manager was a nightmare, the several times my fiancé and I went to the office to ask the status of our repair requests she was dismissive and appeared annoyed to see us walking in the door. We finally gave up complaining about our issues and just decided that we will be leaving when our lease was up. Fast forward we received our notice to renew our lease or give them 60 days notice to vacate, finally we couldn't wait to leave this apartment and Shaool Management behind us. I went to the office personally to give them my notice that i was vacating and found out that there was a new property manager. I gave her my notice to vacate and she asked me is there a reason i was vacating and I let her know my complaints she immediately apologized and told me that she was not aware of the situation. She asked me to please sit down, went to my tenant files and reviewed my move in inspection sheet from 2017. She immediately called the maintenance staff and introduced us, told him that repairs must be completed with three days. maintenance told her that its best to wait until we move to make all repairs, she immediately told him that it doesn't matter if they're moving in two months they deserve to live comfortably in the home they pay. I called my fiancé and told her about my experience with the new PM and she thought that no one was going to repair the apartment. My repairs were done in two days. Bringing Maria is the best decision they have made so far. Every time I make a complaint she is receptive and very attentive. Bottom line I signed my lease renewal.
I would give them no stars if I could. We currently live here and it's the worse place we have ever lived. Let's start with management. It was so hard to get ahold of them when we were trying to get approved to live here, no one was ever at the office and no one would ever answer the phone. After we were approved and we signed out lease our apartment was so dirty we were unable to move into it. We are the first ones to live in this brand new apartment and on the day we did move in there were so many damages and problems we wished we never signed the lease. The walls had marks and dry wall missing, the front door handle was broken, the chandiler wasn't even installed and so much more. Fast forward a few months down the road everything was great until management claimed we were not paying, when we were and they tried to evict us. The grounds is not kept up and management always goes back on their word to cover their asses. Trash, cigarette butts and dog poop is all over the lawn to the point where you can't even walk in the grass. When it snows the grounds keepers do not lay salt or plow (this was told to us that it is now our responsibility but that wasn't in the lease) STAY AWAY FROM ALL SHAOOL MANAGEMENT PROPERTIES
The lady I spoke with was rude and rushed me off the phone. I asked if I could come in to view the apartments and she also told me they were closing early “for a funeral,” right when they opened at 9am. I tried to get in contact with someone not connected to Seneca Ridge, but still with Shaool Management and could not. Guess it’s time to look elsewhere.
This rental office is the most unprofessional business I have ever Encountered. I was offered a job in the Hagerstown area and decided to move closer since I'm from Virginia over 2 hours away. I have had to live in hotels for the past month because they are always an issue why I am not able to move in. They have pushed my movein date back 4 times. For unreasonable issues. They will set an appointment on a day they are closed and will call you 5 mins before they close the day before to update you on the status. I had an appointment today to finely get my keys. They called me this morning and told me they would be closing for the rest of the week because their has been a death. And hung up In my face when I asked if they was any way I can get my key within the next hour. I understand things happen but however this is a business and their should be more then one person in the office. This is very inconvenient for me to keep spending money for hotels basically living in my car. When you have already taken my money. This is the worst experience ever.
