Town Center apartments are part of the larger Riverpark area, which is located two miles directly north of Downtown Oxnard – just take Oxnard Boulevard to quickly reach the city. Oxnard is a terrific city located about 30 miles west of Los Angeles.

Property Ratings at Serenade at Riverpark
I have never written a review on an apartment in my life but I have to warn everyone. The office staff is so unknowledgeable, and will screw up your rent and all of your documentation then charge YOU for the mishap. They are extremely disorganized and you will never have your questions answered or complaints addressed. This isn't just a one time thing, it happened in the entirety of the time I was living there. Along with this, the appliances in the unit are super old and loud for the price you pay. Every single unit is extremely dark, even in the middle of the day so expect to have your lights on at all times and a high electric bill every month. Take note they charge $40/mo for you to walk your own trash all the way to the dumpster. They charge $115/mo for the electric bill of the common areas of the property (not anything having to do with your unit). They seriously nickel and dime you for a lot of things on top of your base rent, so prepare to pay another $500+ in the required monthly fees and your utilities. Not kidding. Also - the walls are all extremely thin so get used to dogs constantly barking, echoing and cars revving their engines every single day. Lastly, there is no security or security cameras. My car, along with several other cars have been broken into and stolen from even if you have a private garage. Management just says "I'm sorry to hear that." This place is a complete bait and switch. If you care about the conditions you live, you can go to any of the neighboring properties for a better experience.
We didn’t have working AC for 3 months while I had Covid and a high fever and it wasn’t fixed even after we moved out. They increased our rent by 30% in one year, we didn’t have hot water for 3 days in winter and kept having to follow up on getting things fixed. Often stood up for maintenance appointments. Carbon Monoxide detector broken. Couldn’t lock the back sliding door. Couldn’t open 2 windows and that was never fixed because they said they were waiting on parts for 14 months. Dishwasher didn’t work the whole time we lived there and we had to hand wash everything. Walking to the collection is nice though.
This place is ok for the most part. But for sure not luxury as advertised. Pray you never have a complaint as the property management WILL NOT call you back... EVER. People around our apartment smoke weed and cigarettes all the time. This is supposed to be a smoke free community. You even sign a waver when you rent here stating you will be fined or evicted for smoking on the property. They dont stop people from smoking here. Spend your money somewhere else.
This is the perfect home . I love the location being close to some amazing restaurants , Whole Foods, target and tons of other retail stores within walking distance. The staff here is so friendly and easy to work with they made moving in a breeze. Awesome amenities , close to the freeway , and pets allowed . I love living here !!
Advertised as smoke free as well as the lease says no smoking or vaping on the property. There are cigarette butts all over the property, even in the halls. There are people walking around smoking and vaping as well as tobacco aroma in the apartments. A complaint to the office does no good. They all say its hard to find the source and do nothing. If you don't mind breathing harmful second hand smoke, this is a lovely complex and close to shopping and restaurants.
Nice grounds, suited for families with small children as it can be a very noisy complex. . Office staff are good at saying they’re sorry when it comes to issues, not much else. But maintenance is helpful.
This is a good spot for you if you like money hungry management, rude neighbors, rent increase, and thin walls.
Once again, this JRK property is the worst on the block... Like others I have 0 stars to give to the Maintenance staff or the office staff. first year was ok.. Of course I was on a lease. Renewed my lease for 6 months and rent went up about 15%. Broke/clogged drains items got fixed within a week, maybe.. or not at all.. If you live on the Target side, the road noise is almost unbearable.. Parking is very limited, if you have guests they have to park on the road or at the Target parking lot. The Water and Sewage utilities are based on a single family home.. That is right you pay the exact amount for Water and Sewage as a 5bd 4ba 5000sqft house... awesome huh... Then you pay for trash that locals pillage through every morning and evening looking for cans and bottles... Zero security. I moved out 14 August 2017.. Did I get my Deposit back?? NO... I have contacted the Assistant manger and the Property Management Company and no one answers or can answer why I have not received my Deposit back?? DO NOT MOVE HERE... EVER!!!!!!
I lived here for 2 years and absolutely loved it. Very quiet and clean property, perfect place if you have a pet. Location is great because you have everything at walking distance from there. The price is a little high but because of the area it is worth it.
When I moved from the San Gabriel Valley to Oxnard I was looking for a nice place that was close to what I had been paying as well as an upgrade. All the units I looked at were either over priced or looked sketchy. Serenade at Riverpark has provided a quiet and clean living experience. The management staff is great in answering my questions and providing any repairs on a timely and efficient basis The ammenities in my apartment(central heating/air, refrigerator, dish washer and garage) make life much easier especially with my busy schedule. The 24 hour gym is also a great addition especially when you don't want to deal with over crowded neighborhood gyms. I have been living here for almost 6 months now and Iam very happy with my decision.
Beautiful place to live and has access to great stores, grocery, movies, and restaurants. It is conveniently located next to the 101 freeway for easy access. The apartments have nice amenities and nice appliances. The landscape and the pool are always clean and well kept. The only issue is the constant change of owner which results in policy changes and the management. The management is not always responsive to issues and with the constant owner changes the management does not always sufficiently notify the tenants about the changes. So, I would say if you are able to rent a townhouse /house in the Riverpark area it would be sufficiently better because you wouldn't have to deal with the management and still have the same benefits of living in Serenade. However, if you are looking for apartment living, I have enjoyed living in the apartments and would enjoy it more if there was a consistent owner and a responsive management team.
I love this place. The amenities are great, the staff is friendly, and it is overall a great environment for me and my family. The landscape is always immaculate, which makes this place feel more like a resort than an apartment complex. It is located right across the street from The Collection, which is home to so many great stores and restaurants that are all within walking distance; so, you don't have to deal with any traffic. This apartment complex is also very pet friendly, which is a huge bonus!

i recently took a tour of the place and was just blown away. Everything about it is great but the biggest down fall for most starting out couples like me and my wife is that they require you to make at least 3 times the rent.
Moving from West Covina to Oxnard, I was becoming discouraged by the choices of apartments in the area. I had seen Serenade By RiverPark many time as I got off the freeway so I decided to give it a try. First off the staff was very friendly and pleasure to talk to. Even during the tour they made you feel right at home. The apartment was competitively priced for having a garage, central heating/air, appliances, 24 hour gym & washer dryer in the unit. Since I lived here they have continental to provide top service. When I needed items repaired they were fixed within a reasonable time and fixes correcrly. The only drawback is the lack of parking spaces but they didn't try and hide this. They were up front honest about it and I respect honest up front. Overall I recommend Serenade By RiverPark to anybody looking to relocate or just wants a nice quiet area to relax.
