Property Ratings at Serenity Towers on the St. Johns
Okay, I happened on this site and I also happen to live in Serenity Towers -- going on 2.5 years. I have no idea what the reviewers below who gave very incorrect, negative reviews are even talking about. I LOVE living here (66 years old, active -- play golf twice a week). The vast majority of residents are very friendly and most know each other either by name or just by face. The staff (Robin, Sherri, John) are GREAT and friendly. As far as maintenance, this place is extremely well-maintained and it's also EXTREMELY clean. I've been here for 2.5 years and have NEVER seen a roach. In fact, pest control comes in quarterly as well as maintenance for the quarterly inspections inclusive of changing out the A/C filters, etc. Sidewalks and the building were also just professionally power-washed, the grounds are professionally maintained and are beautiful. The view overlooking Lake Monroe is a $1m view! As far as safety, there is a parking lot and you can purchase assigned parking for, I think, $25 per month. I choose to park along Pine Avenue on the street and have had no problems. Again, I've been here 2.5 years and have never had any problem finding a parking spot right in front of the building. In fact, there's an additional 60+ diagonal spaces along first street right in front of the building and down toward the park. The person that talked about parking in abandoned houses -- huh??? -- what are you talking about -- not even remotely an accurate statement. I see many, many, many residents family and friends coming to visit constantly. I believe the rule is a 2 week overnight stay per month -- reasonable since these are all 1 bedrooms. There are no guest suites -- as Serenity Towers -- also stated, so again, an inaccurate statement. I could go on, but I think you, the Reader, get the point. Serenity Towers is a great place to live, downtown Sanford is constantly packed with people, I haven't seen or experienced any crime in this area during my 2.5 years here, there isn't a problem with anyone on the streets bothering anyone, etc. There is a Waitlist so you will need to get on that as soon as possible to get in. Hope this helps clean up those unjustified (in my opinion) reviews. - Deni
My grandmother has lived at Serenity Towers for three years and loves it. I am always warmly welcomed by the staff when I visit and they generally seem to care about the residents living there. I remember driving by this building years ago before it was renovated and the difference is amazing. I couldn't think of a better place for my grandmother to live.
If you care about your mother and father don't let them live out their golden years where they are afraid to leave their apartment. This is not just the neighborhood but the staff as well. Sure you have your pick of driveways to park of abandoned houses in case you don't want to pay the parking fee. "No car has been towed yet." In case, you want to park in the parking lot a few blocks away of a vacant business, you are told. Your grandchildren are allowed one night every so often, which involves permission from the authoritarian staff. If you have out of town relatives they will be allowed two or three times a year and can stay in the guest suite, on your dime. In other words, forget weekend visits with family and friends. If you are dating, forget about it. The snarkiness and condescension from a Patty is beyond laughable and she needs to be fired. They act like they doing you a favor by allowing you to live in a building where the air conditioner breaks down and a small concrete area with five chairs is your reward to sit and feel the breezes from the water. Mind you just feel because actually opening your eyes you will be entertained by the local community urinating in the middle of the street and asking residents for change as soon as you leave the chainedlinked fence that surrounds your residence/encampment. If you bring this to staff attention, you are growled at!! There are 7 senior towers in the central Florida area that are wayyyy better. There is a waiting list so get in them now!

Serenity Towers on the St. Johns offers efficiency and 1-bedroom apartment suites, and our friendly staff welcomes those interested in leasing to stop by at any time to visit, schedule a tour and see how well maintained the property is kept and how friendly and community-oriented our residents are. While we have never had any guests suites, our residents often have friends and family as visiting guests from out of town. We have had a waitlist for the past 8 years, so it is advisable to apply and get on the waitlist for those interested in renting with us. Sanford offers a variety of entertainment, a wide range of restaurants and shops which are within walking distance from the tower which is located across from Melon Park. We invite you to visit any time Monday - Friday 9 - 5.
I though this was a good apt for seniors, management seemed nice at first but that faded fast. This is a moldy cockroach infested building. The only way I kept roaches out of my apt was to do my own pest control, there's doesn't work. There is mold growing in the air conditioning and heating system which don't even work properly. The management will harass you,the laundry room has only 5 washers and dryers and is usually filthy, nothing is ever fixed properly, when I had an air conditioning problem they put a paper towel over a vent and said it was fixed, mold grows on walls and they just paint over it,they don't fix it,they had a shower curtain rod holding up the wall in the elevator for over 6 months. The only People who write a good review either work here or are personal friends of management.I wish I had known this before I moved in. Like I said BEWARE

This is simply untrue. We welcome anyone to stop by at any time. You will see that the property is well maintained and kept clean. Most of our residents do not use social media, so giving a review is not typical, but we encourage you to stop by and see our property. Only apartment tours need to be scheduled, so dropping in at any time allows you to view the common spaces and talk with staff. The laundry room has 5 washers and 5 dryers which was part of the original plan and there is not room to expand it, but because people use it at different times, it is rarely a problem getting one to use for ones personal use.
