Arlington Mill contains one of the most diverse populations in northern Virginia. Located about eight miles outside of Washington, D.C., the neighborhood's mix of single-family detached homes, town homes, garden and high-rise apartments, and condominium high-rises constantly attract new residents. The neighborhood enjoys a low crime rate, and its quiet side streets feature sidewalks and small houses or brick garden apartments. The high-rises sit mostly along Columbia Pike, the main thoroughfare, lined with a hodge-podge of shopping centers and strip malls. The Arlington Mill Community Center serves as the neighborhood hub.

Property Ratings at Serrano Apartments
The leasing manager was thoroughly welcoming when we first spoke. She explained the apartments that were available and an offer they had during the time. I was contemplating other places, one close by but that was slightly more expensive and another that was much farther that would have required me getting a car, and I was sold on this location from speaking with her. She provided the details I would need to make a decision: outstanding promos, estimated monthly utilities, fees needed, and deadlines. When I went to to the leasing office to submit my application, they were more than willing to explain any information I was not 100% clear on and willing to work with me to provide the application fees and holding fees on the same day. They made such an impression on me that I do not doubt that I will enjoy my time here (fingers crossed).

Thank you so much for recognizing our team members and their collective efforts to ensure that you were provided with the best possible service. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you going forward. Thanks again!
The staff are incompetent, even after a complete change of office staff in less than 6 months time. I have been lied to by staff-members more than once. There is ALWAYS noise from the parking lot and from the many children who live here. They only turn the A/C on from May to September. It gets hot, even in the winter. The “controlled access” is a joke. People constantly prop doors. Never expect the place to be in full working order. One of the elevators, the heat/hot water, or even electricity seem to fail on a weekly basis. The only positives I have are that they cap the utility bill and they have roomy closets.

Thank you for reaching out. Due to the nature of your concerns, we feel it would be best if we spoke with you directly. Please stop by the office or give us a call at (703) 671-3200 when you have the time. Thank you.
The staff is incredibly incompetent and pretentious and mistreat the tennants. On top of that, there is a huge mouse and cockroach problem throughout the building. The building is also not well-maintained. For some reason, the elevators always have a mysterious liquid spilled in them or spit; the hallways smell musty and are visibly dirty/dusty; the trash rooms have trash littered everywhere and have a noxious, foul smell; and lastly, the laundromat frequently has broken units. Also if there is any maintenance emergency, the management will not tend to it unless you contact them numerous times and will get back to you in 2 months— if you're lucky. The only redeeming quality about this apartment is its price for being in Arlington, but there are much cheaper (and better) apartments in the same neighborhood. Overall, if you like living in a dumpster-like apartment with an incompetent management that berates you, this is the apartment for you. If not, spend your hard-earned money at a better apartment.
I have lived in these apartment complexes for 16 years! There are rats and roaches & they will send pest control because they have to, but the pests always come back. Rental office is terrible & not dependable. Took them two weeks of us complaining to them for them to fix the elevator, so all residents of seven floors were forced to use either one elevator or the stairs. Unnecessarily expensive, charge way more than you are actually getting for. The pool is a community pool, no parking on the weekend because it becomes a community parking garage. Walls/doors aren't sound proof, so if you are talking in your apartment, the apartment next door will hear you. Have the oldest furniture and curtains. Refurbished the first floors to appeal to potential renters, but it is only for show. There are no public trashcans, and they got rid of the nice resting bench outside for no reason. And lastly, out of all apartments I have viewed this is the only apartment complex I have seen that does not have a lobby. There are two buildings and there is no lobby. In the second building, they attempted to make a lounge, but then they fulfilled their 4-years long promise of giving us a gym by changing the lounge into a gym. So the video montage is a lie, there is no lounge/lobby area. It also not a very good gym and is very open, no curtains or walls. It is next to the entrance of the building and it all glass, so random people driving by can just watch you working out. In conclusion, don't waste your money here, look around you are bound to find better. Honestly, the only reason I have stayed here is because it is what I can just barely afford currently and it is the only apartment near my work and other daily places I go.
I lived in the Serrano building since 2012 and i love this place..I live in a one bedroom apartment which is very large but I'm moving to two bedroom because I'm expecting and I'm very excited because the apartments are very large and nice I don't understand reviews about their rats and cockroaches.. Because as soon as you call the staff they'll send you a pest-control.. It's a very nice building lots of families very safe and everybody's friendly.. I can't say enough things about the stuff they are very nice very professional they do you know each person by name and I soon as you call maintenance they take care of things right away.. I can't mention names but all the staff is great.. the manager she's great person and all the workers are just fabulous
This place is FOUL! There is always a pest issue. If you like living with roaches and rats then this is the place for you! Seriously! In living here for 2 years I've had to ask them to treat the apt for either roaches or mice about every 2 months. Also, the front desk service is horrible! They are rude and very unresponsive. They is ALWAYS an issue living here. Whether it is parking, trash, construction, change in office hours, pests, noise. Always something. I've had a terrible experience living here and cannot wait to move out!
it is a huge house, when I moved here first I start having bedbug problems. We salved that thanks god. they treated the apartment 3 times and couldnt get rid of them. always a construction going on. when I first moved here they told me that we will have gym, club house etc. in 2 months. its been a year and we dont still have an active one. guy in the office always complaining about his job. they are all good guys anyways but sometimes I want to pick up my package without seeing someone complaining about package pickup service. my neighbor smokes marijuana. all hole-way and my apartment smells very heavy. and also you are like living in the same house with your neighbors. you can hear them really easy. Im about to move out anyways. Place is good overall but its just overpriced. I rent my apartment for $1,499 and to months free last year. which make $1,277 per 14 months but now they are asking me to pay $1,790. no way I will pay that. I was expecting $1,400 offer from them.
Love the closet space all around the hallways and including in the room. im glad serrano are making improvements.
