Property Ratings at SERRANO HIGHLANDS APARTMENT HOMES
We were given the bait and switch! We were shown a beautiful corner apartment. I noticed a problem with the address after we put down a deposit, had our credit checked and got approved. When I asked if the address was wrong on the initial agreement, I was told oops we accidentally showed you the wrong apartment, quoted you the wrong deposit, and were never told that our dog had to be locked up inside when we are at work, even though there is a yard. We gave notice to our other residence. We will have either no choice but to sign a year lease for an apartment we hate or be homeless.
I have lived at Serrano highlands for 2 years now from 2016-2018. I have to say these are the perfect apartments….if you are a smoker. They are quiet, in a secluded part of lake forest. The residents are generally friendly, and the grounds are well kept. I have never had a problem with repairs, parking, or using common areas (the pool). All common issues with apartments. The apartments are spacious, especially the kitchens which have a lot of cabinet space. There is even a laundry room inside the apartment. All of these are fantastic and I would like to say this place is perfect and everyone should live here but, that is not the case. I have found that nearly half of the residents that live near me smoke. This is very disappointing because even though I do not smoke my apartment smells like I do. I can never open my windows on a beautiful day, and if you want to go to the pool on the south side you will have to endure the smell of cigarette smoke. Non-smokers beware, this is not the place for you, especially if you have children. Its really sad because this is such an awesome place that would be perfect if they instituted a non smoking policy like all modern apartments in the area have. Needless to say; I will not be renewing my lease this year.
This is the worst place to live roaches in apartment ants that never go away sewers that back up and never taken care of they just let it back up and never clean up the crap .leasing office are not professional don't no how to do there jobs only want to screw people don't move in here you will regreat ever day you do
I have lived here for about a year now. It is a nice apartment complex with plenty of guest parking and trash locations (which is nice, I personally do not like when trash bins are over flowing). There is a lot of near by trails for hiking as well as a very nice park. Rent can be paid online or in office, the office is open 7 days a week. The a/c unit runs great, upgraded dishwasher and gas range stove. Down sides: No gas/propane BBQ's allowed & stucco/popcorn ceilings.
Lake Forest is a beautiful area and this complex can't be beat. Originally designed as condos, each unit has a street address and plenty of parking. Many of the downstairs units have large back yards. Each unit has its own full size washer/dryer, refrigerator, and central a/c. The units are spacious and the floor plans work for families and roommates. The grounds are well maintained and the office staff are friendly and helpful. Pets are allowed. For the most part, it is quiet and peaceful, off the beaten track while still close to major freeways and shopping.
Parking- they allow 3 cars (which is rare), with proof of registration. There is a lot of parking, it is never a problem (which is also rare). For guests you are allotted a certain amount of passes a month, I believe it is around 10. Paying rent online is kinda a drag- 1.95 charge to pay with an echeck and the total amount has to be paid at once (which is a pain if you are splitting rent with a roomie/significant other. To pay with a visa/mastercard there is a crazy like $40.00 fee. The grounds are well kept, the pools are nice and clean with cabana style furniture, the trash bins are never overflowing and gross. They allow dogs, there is a wait limit...but they allow dogs!! Which is rare. The first floor apartments have a yard, some are small and some are big...they vary in size and there will most likely be a wait list for one. The apartments all together inside are very nice, the maintenance workers are nice and do a good jobs as well. It is not easy to find apartments in Orange County that have a small yard option, central A/C, a washer and dryer in unit and a gas range stove. For the first floor there is a hardwood floor option as well for an additional monthly fee.
I have lived at Serrano Highlands for almost 3 years and have found that it is the most perfect place to live. Located at the top of a hill you have a panoramic view of a lush green landscape with trees, bushes and green grass as far as the eye can see...definitely reminds me of the Scottish Highlands. The property is also fill with beauty, friendly people and the feeling of being "home". I highly recommend Serrano Highlands as the perfect place to live and enjoy life.
