Situated just over three miles northwest of Downtown Minneapolis, Glenwood Junction consistently ranks as one of the best suburbs in Minneapolis. There’s a diverse renter population here, including families, students, commuting professionals, and everyone in between. Residents praise the area for its attractive streets, lush landscape, nearby parks, and top-notch schools.
There’s a modest selection of restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment options scattered around the neighborhood, the bulk of which you’ll find along Highway 55. But the main calling card of Glenwood Junction is Theodore Wirth Regional Park, and the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. Both green spaces give the area a lush feel and make it a welcome escape from the city that lies just a few minutes away.

Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. We hope you have a great day!
Very spacious apartments and you can tell management really cares about taking care of the complex. The grounds are well taken care of and maintenance is very prompt, I’ve never had to wait longer than one business day for a request to be responded to. I also like that the garage space is included in rent, that was hard to find and helps justify the somewhat higher rent.

I have lived at Shadow Hills for a few months now. I like the location of the property. It’s just off of the highway and I feel like it is a fairly quiet neighborhood. You can sometimes hear your neighbors through the wall. My dogs also love the on-site dog park. There is a lot of space for my pups to run and get their energy out.

Shadow hills has been a great apartment for me. There’s been no major issues and is a good location with grocery stores, parks, and walking trails nearby. There’s even a dog park out back that is easy to access and private. The floor plans are good if you have roommates and there’s always plenty of parking outside if you don’t use your garage space.

We have lived in shadow hills now for 2 years and I don’t think I have a single complaint. The people are great here, everyone is super friendly and the people who work here are always on top of cleaning up the hallways and making sure the place is always looking beautiful!!

Clean, great management, friendly atmosphere, quick to respond to any maintenance requests, awesome amenities and occasional free food trucks/treats! Only bad thing is no security cameras:( at least it has secured entrances though!

Hi, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Shadow Hills! Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we can improve. We hope you will consider us again in the future. Take care.
I have lived in other complexes where the grounds weren’t well maintained, and this apartment takes pride in their facilities! The maintenance employees are very quick to respond, which is a great benefit for apartment living. The hot tub is a nice bonus for the summers (most don’t have this!)

Hello there, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. We hope you have a great day!
Before we moved in, the water/sewer/trash was included in the rent and we signed the lease with that agreement. They waited until our move in date to announce a sudden “policy change” requiring us to cover those amenities, completely violating the language on the contract. The worst part is that they notified us ON move-in day, giving us no chance to reconsider. The apartments themselves are decent, but we find ourselves having to file maintenance requests every other week. The maintenance team is timely and diligent.

I love living at Shadow Hills. I have been living here for almost 3 years now. The community is really amazing, the people are great here and the maintenance folks are really friendly and punctual. The layout of the apartments is really nice and the community around is pretty safe. The community has a nice swimming pool which is open during the summers. The party room and the theater are great places to host parties or hangout with friends or watch a movie. I have recommended many of my friends to Shadow Hills already and will continue to do so.. ??

Hello, thank you for sharing your positive experience! We hope you have a great day!
When I turned in my notice to move out in the first few days of a month and would pay my prorated rent before that, the woman in the office read the full note I wrote, said everything was fine with it, and someone from the office would call me if they needed more details. The next day, a different woman from the office called me, was very rude, said that even though I moved into my apartment in the middle of a month and got prorated rent, they would NOT allow that for moving out, and were going to force me to pay for a full month’s rent for just 5 days of living there. I was told one thing one day, then told a different thing the next day, and they did not care about their lies/misinformation at all and were 100% unwilling to help me at all or negotiate anything. I was forced to move out weeks before I’d wanted to but was still made to pay that full month’s rent for only 2 weeks of living there. It’s sad when you realize people are all about the money and don’t care about actual people at all. Before I moved out, I gave them my forwarding address so they could send me my security deposit. My apartment was in great shape (as a woman from the office told us herself during my final walkthrough). When I called a month and a half after I moved out to ask why I hadn’t gotten my deposit back yet, I received a very condescending voicemail back that I had written the wrong forwarding address, and they had to wait for my misdirected check to get back before they would send me a new one. I did NOT write the wrong address on my sheet I turned in to them; when she read off what they had, it was clear they misread the address and mislabeled it. Instead of owning up to their mistake and taking any sort of responsibility, it was all blamed on me. I had to wait over 2 months (when the lease says 21 days) to get my security deposit back for something that was their fault, not mine, and something they wouldn’t own up to doing wrong, because nothing is EVER their responsibility. I cried at least twice after having to deal with the office staff/management; they are horrible to work with and spoiled my experience living at Shadow Hills.
We are leaving after being here a year. My husband and I had sold our house and moved into an apartment to see if we would like condo style living! We just purchased a place and will be leaving when our lease is up! If you are looking for a nice, pet friendly, family friendly, safe, nice facilities GREAT STAFF, come here. We have enjoyed our year so much. It is so well ran, and things get done so quickly! The pool and workout facility are super nice. Just wonderful! If for some reason we ever need to rent again, we will definitely come back. Thank you Shadow Hills!
Been living here for about a year and we love it. Perfect area, close to cub foods and restaurants. We have a cat, and they gladly excepted him to stay with us. Overall they are quick with replying and helping with any simple fixes in the apartment.
The staff are amazing. Love, Love my apartment. Beautiful grounds. Pet friendly, with a newly added fenced in dog play area! Always aim to please!
We moved to Plymouth for a job and we are so happy we picked Shadow Hills. It is in a beautiful area and we love to take walks around the neighborhood. It also very close to Cub Foods which is very convenient. Our apartment is spacious and in really good condition. At first we had quite a few maintenance issues, but they were all handled very quickly. Also, we never hear our neighbors and the building is very quiet. Overall, I would recommend Shadow Hills if you are looking for a quiet and well-maintained apartment!
I've lived at Shadow Hills since May 2015. The place is quite nice. Close to the highway and Cub is right down the street, so that's convenient. Grounds are kept fairly clean and maintenance is quick with the minor issues I've had. The gym and pool area are nice and clean. I have not had any noise issues with neighbors and everyone seems to be friendly. The only gripe I really have is the cost of electric here. Keep in mind there is a W/D in unit but my electric bill still runs about $70-80 more per month than my last place. Wasn't thrilled but it's not much to complain about. I'd recommend the place with the warning of a higher electric bill. :)
This is a pleasant enough place to live, but it has so many small things that I don't like that I REALLY regret moving here. Pros- Clean, and well kept building. Gym and Outdoor Pool on location. Laundry room in each apartment. Dogs and Cats allowed. Spacious kitchen. Grocery store is right across the street. Cons- The angles in every room are ridiculous and make arranging rooms difficult. You will only get ONE garage stall. (and the parking is awful in the lots.) The city water (tap water) is disgusting. Building lets every tenant know about it's commitment to recycling, yet there is never a recycling bin available. Air Conditioning/Heating vent are right above the patio doors, so a lot of electricity is wasted. Management cuts a lot of corners while refurbishing apartments (ours smells like cigarette smoke, still.) The high-top breakfast is much taller than a normal bar height (difficult to find chairs/stools that will work.) Rent is higher than would be expected. The main closet is USELESS with the angles in the room and the setting of the shelves.
I been living in my apartment for 9 years. It has a spacious living, kitchen, and bedroom and even a nice size bathroom. The managing staff are friendly and helpful, at times for renewal of lease and schueling for maintenance. It also has a nice size pool. There,s also top of the line security. In the summer time there,s a meet and greet for the residence, also food and fun for the children.
Our human pet loves this place so much! We have moved several times over the course of a few years and so far, I think we can all agree, that we love Shadow Hills the best! The location is great, the apartment is spacious, clean, and perfect for us. We have so much space to run around in and our human pet, Sheila, decorated our bedroom with such fun colors and lots of toys. We even have our own bed, window ledge, places to hide, and our very own bathroom! This place is great. We run around on the hardwood floors and slide all over chasing each other. The plush carpet in our bedroom helps us grip and get a good running start to run, jump, and twirl. We have a balcony that Sheila decorated with pretty lights and lots of plants. It's like our very own forest. Plus our balcony overlooks a pond with geese and big beautiful trees. She also grows lots of vegetables and the leaves are so big and green. We even get to stay outside all day to see the birds fly by and we we get to catch lots of bugs and bring them inside the apartment to show off to our human, Sheila. She doesn't like the big black bugs we bring in, but they are super fun to play with. Sheila has to pay rent, but we live here for free and that makes us very happy! There would be no way on earth that we'd ever leave our human, and Shadow Hills makes that possible because they are super friendly and let us furry kids live here! When our human pet, Sheila, cooks in the spacious kitchen, we sit on the bar or the high chairs, depending on what she'd doing and help. We don't like it when she cleans the apartment because she brings out this huge monster that sucks up everything in site. I think we've lost a couple of toys and that makes us sad! My sister Sophie gets to go out in the hallway with our pet human and take out the trash. I can hear her all the way into the apartment - she is very happy and excited to be spending so much fun time with our human pet Sheila. I usually stay inside, I don't want to get lost. Overall, this place is great, we love the maintenance staff that comes in and fixes stuff for our human. They do a great job and make sure that we don't escape. They even pet and play with us sometimes! Our human is so relaxed and happy to be living here and we do not plan on moving for a very long time. This is the place we call home and love living here! The Kitty-Cats, Sophie and Olive
My fiance and I are in love with our apartment! It is a 1 Br den with a balcony that we use often. We love to sit on our balcony on a nice summer evening while playing our Family Feud card game. Our apartment is very spacious with our own washer/dryer and water heater! This is the perfect apartment to live in before you buy a house. Our rent is over $1,000/month which makes it a little difficult to save money to buy a house and our wedding next year; so free rent would be a lifesaver!
Great place to start a family that's already on it's way.
I recently renewed my lease at Shadow Hills and am very happy with these apartments. I have lived in many other apartments and find Shadow Hills to be clean, in a great area and up to date. My maintenance requests are always taken care of immediately and I have not had any issues with staff or residents. I don't hear the other residents very often and the grounds and common areas are always clean. Staff are friendly and greet me whenever they see me around the grounds. I love the on site gym that is open twenty four hours a day. My nieces also love to come swim in the pool and play the playground. I also travel for work and love that I am very close too 100, 169 and 494. I have recommended Shadow Hills to friends as well!
I have never lived in an apartment before I came to live at Shadow Hills. I must say that after having lived in a house prior to moving to the apartment, I would prefer living in an apartment. Why I really like living here: Safe/clean/good neighborhood. Maintenance issues were taken care of very quickly upon request. Don't really notice much noise while at home night or day. Residents seem friendly, respectful of others. Family friendly apartment complex - playground and a pool right on the grounds! Staff at Shadow Hills is really kind, friendly and personable. They are all very welcoming and helpful with any questions or issues, even know many residents by name! The aparment buildings common areas and hallways are kept in good clean condition. I feel I get what I pay for and my expectations are exceeded. If moving out of state to MN, I would recommend living here. You will be close to everything! Also, Plymouth was voted on of the best cities to live in. Overall I would give this place 5 stars! Thank you!
