Property Ratings at Shangri-La Apartments
I lived here for 4 years. The top floor was quiet and apartments decent. When I decided to move out, it proved to be a lot more difficult than the move in. On the day of my move, I had moving pods delivered the same as when I moved in years prior. On that day, the maintenance guy rudely told me that the pods had to be placed across a 2-way driving lane downhill about 40 feet from the building because management suddenly became concerned about the residents. Yet, the apartment manager was not concerned with residents when roofing contractors took up 10 parking spaces for several months with excessive noise 6 days a week; I only needed 2 of those parking spaces for a couple of days. This was a much different experience from when I moved in, and the former manager gave me a temporary garage key and the pods were placed on the far side of the building. Needless to say, the movers complained about the distance from the building and I had to pay them for more time. I ended up suffering an injury trying to close the doors on the pods, which do not close when placed on uneven ground once loaded. This means that possessions are left open and available to anyone at night since this location and uneven ground does not allow the doors to be plumb and close properly. Dictating the placement of moving pods furthest from the building was meant to exert excessive control and fuel egos, rather than considering the residents' needs. The roofers were not told to put their equipment across the lot and dodge traffic! After paying rent for several years, the move-out experience should be as pleasant as the move-in.
Reading reviews of apartments is hard because it seems like there's always a few angry residents. While I can't speak for everyone, I find it hard to believe anyone would not love this complex or its management. Shangri La is run by a small-ish company and they really want to make sure their residents are happy. While it's not the cheapest place to live, it's comparable to many competitors, and I've yet to hear of anyone seeing a rent increase (though you won't get the promise in writing...) If you have a need for maintenance, it'll be taken care of in a day or two. They even do preventative maintenance if you notice something needs doing. If you want clarification on rent/terms/other, you can email and get a clear response almost immediately during work hours. I lived at Shangi La for a year, and have since had to move away for work. I've seen good landlords and bad. This is a very good place, well kept, and well run. I'd highly recommend this complex to anyone.

I have lived here 4 years now and cant see myself ever moving unless I can afford to buy a house. My neighbors are all so friendly and the employees are wonderful. I highly reccomend Shangri La. I never hear my neighbors either and my rent has never gone up in the whole 4 years I have lived here plus its a secure building so it has been very safe. The apartments are also very large and modern and there are elevators which is nice. Its also close to everything.
Have been a pleased resident for over a year now. I am deeply thankful for the team here at Shangri La Apartments for their exceptional customer service. The team here goes above and beyond to make sure residents are well taken care of and it shows. I have never lived in a place where it has felt so much like home. Office staff is personable and accommodating. Any maintenance issues that may come up are usually taken care of within the day. The building and common spaces are modern and the grounds are well taken care of. The units themselves are spacious and have beautiful finishes. Definitely feels like home. All in all, a great place to live. From the beautiful building and amenities, to the amazing customer service by management. Shangri La has everything we could want and need.

She is an awesome lady, she takes care of property and the people who live here very well and I think I won't move until I buy my own home. I have been a resident at the ShangriLa Apartments in Bothell for approximately three years. Prior to ShangriLa I've lived at several local apartment communities. I am happy to say that ShangriLa is BY FAR the best of the lot! Julie, the property manager is a genuinely caring, courteous & professional individual, she is always available and quick to address my needs. John, her new man in charge of maintenance runs a very tight ship, the trash rooms & grounds are always super clean & tidy, I think the guy must sneak in on his day off just to make sure things are looking good. People are so very quick to complain, but rarely take time to praise a job well done. There were a couple of weather-related problems a few weeks back. You may remember we experienced an extended number of days with severe, sub-freezing temperatures, the worst in many years. As a result pipes burst, damaging several apartments on two occasions. I wasn't directly affected, but observed how thorough the situation was handled. Both Julie & John were on the premises nearly round the clock, missing meals & losing sleep, making sure the accident cleanup was well in hand. Those directly affected were well cared for & received assistance. As a tenant, I feel comforted in knowing that corrective measures/repairs have since been implemented to protect against these disasters from occurring during any future, extended deep freeze. I just felt compelled to take a moment to shine a light and give praise where praise is due.
