Property Ratings at Sheffield of Lincoln Park
This building is not ideal for someone working from home. There are people constantly in the hallway making noise and shouting during the day. As for the ventilation, random smells were constantly coming into the apartment vents, especially if someone cooked or even smoked marijuana. Plus, the MONTHLY BED BUG AND PEST INSPECTIONS AND SPRAY, was normalized by management in order to “prevent the problem from happening”. I don’t know about you…..I’ve lived in my fair share of apartments. I’ve NEVER HAD TO HAVE MONTHLY BED BUG/PEST INSPECTION AND SPRAYING to “prevent the problem from happening”, especially in a new building. Usually, that doesn’t need to happen unless there’s a problem…but what do I know. The place is absolute circus! As for the management office and leasing office, the lack of professionalism is TRULY ASTONISHING AND ATROCIOUS! There is absolutely no solid communication with management and the residents. The only time we usually hear from them is when they slip a sheet of paper under your door to tell you something. If you try to email or call, especially maintenance requests the likelihood of getting a response is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY! When they do respond, they mention that either they didn’t receive it, didn’t see it, or have been busy! Nevertheless, “despite being so busy”….they’re able to CLOCK OUT EARLY ON FRIDAY AT NOON/1:00 PM with so much stuff to do! (Sarcasm). When we decided to get out of our lease due to us no longer feeling safe at the building, we had to THREATEN THEM WITH LEGAL ACTION SIMPLY TO GET OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THEM WITH NO RESPONSE. If I did any of these actions (like the management and leasing offices), I would’ve been fired from my job. I guess they don’t work in the real world. Honestly, the ONLY EMPLOYEE THAT HAD ANY PROFESSIONALISM AND CLASS at that place is the custodian. He was always very friendly and accommodating. That is the only positive thing I have to say about this place. If you want to still live here, well……. enjoy the crazy. I agree 100% with everything the December 2023 poster says here!!
Where do I start. The front doors do not work with your key fob. Imagine not being able to access your front door. The back door stays open all night because it doesn’t latch right. Imagine having a back door open all night in Chicago. The elevator beeping has been happening for months with no fix in sight. The management is the island of misfit toys. They don’t respond to calls or emails and they lie. The leasing office acts like they have the knowledge of never knowing anything about the building. They are in code violation here and I’ve told them that. I’ve talked to several tenants trying to get out of their leases. If you want to never hear from management please move here.
Absolutely love living here. I was one of the first to move in. Secure building, secure package lockers, simple gym for when it starts to snow. Units are spacious and have a clean look. Right down the street from the Diversey L stop. Ebony was great during the tour/signing process and was beyond helpful. 10/10.
Great place to live, close to CTA transportation, shooping, restaurants, entertainment, schools, hospital, lake, bike and jogging trails. What more can you ask for.
