Property Ratings at Shelby Pointe Village
I love this community. Friendly neighbors, super helpful management, fast acting maintenance, fun food trucks etc etc The apartments are so beautiful , spacious, and easily enjoyed! Great family feel and very centrally located to every amenity!
I’m happy to call Shelby Pointe Village Apartments my home. The property manager, Tracey, was professional yet very helpful with her knowledge and understanding of my circumstances. Her warm welcome and friendly nature was very inviting. Finally, a pleasant community of residents that are family friendly and welcoming. Most importantly, everyone seems to be respectful of their neighbors and their community. Lastly, the land is mostly surrounded with trees and nature that gives a very peaceful atmosphere. Conveniently, there are nearby retail plazas and fast food within walking distance and/or a minute or two drive time. I’m very pleased to have moved here.
We were here for just over 2 years and loved it! The community was quiet and friendly and the walls were thick (we never heard our neighbors) we only moved because we bought a home otherwise we would have continued to enjoy our nice small community! I would recommend this place anytime
I have been here a year and am moving out of state but this has been a great place to live. Quiet and the neighborhood is nice and look out for one another. Management is great and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Shelby Pointe.
My family moved into this development over two years ago. We find it to be safe, clean and the management very responsive when called upon for any maintenance repair. It's a great place for professionals and families alike!
I recently moved into the complex and I am in LOVE. The grounds are so well kept, the condo is BEAUTIFUL. Whenever I have had anything come up Tracey (the GM) and Jose (the groundskeeper) are there within hours. The complex is very small and family oriented, but it is extremely quiet. I am so happy with my choice of picking Shelby Pointe, we love it here! Highly recommend.
We've lived here for 3 years so far and have no plans of leaving anytime soon. The management is on the property everyday. They make it easy to get ahold of them and they show that they really care. They do a great job keeping the property looking clean and makes sure we all do our part. Our 3 bedroom multi-level home has lots of room for our large family. We are extremely satisfied with what we get for what we pay for. I highly recommend our beautiful little community.
I have been here since the first building went up with no plans of leaving. My apartment is spacious with so much storage. The complex is very clean. The owners and management are here everyday making sure everyone does their part to keep it clean. I personally like that they do this. For the money I spend I like a clean place.
The 2 bedroom/garage worked well for the time I was there. The management team was available when needed and the maintenance did a good job of keeping the grounds clean etc
Been here almost two years and I have to say, I’ve been lucky to have some great neighbors! We all look out for each other, enjoy our common areas and love how clean and beautiful the place is. I like that it’s privately owned and operated and they have a high standard application requirement to move in here. It’s about quality of life. ??
My family was interested in this complex last year during the height of rental increases across Macomb county. The prices originally were very reasonable, albeit a little high since there are no amenities offered by the complex. Unfortunately, it feels as if the management is starting to price gouge their tenants. The space you pay for is absolutely beautiful (we thought our original price was fair for the square footage you receive), but I do agree with many others regarding the paint (trying to clean smudges off the walls give it a little discoloration). For the townhome style units, there is little to no noise from the neighbors at all, which is very impressive. Unfortunately, a month or so after signing our lease, all of the units increased by $200-300 dollars (I am thankful that we were able to secure the price we did originally). We have already been priced out of our current unit and are now worried that by the time we receive the new offer, rates will increase again since that would be almost a full year ago from our original lease. While we understand that the current state of rent has increased across the country, I want to bring up that this increase does not come with any utilities paid for other than trash for our complex, and there are no amenities such as a community center, basketball courts, closed off dog walking area, a gym, pool, etc. The tipping point for us is that there currently are no community hosted events - a selling point when we had originally signed our lease with the previous property manager who was trying hard to make up for the complex not offering amenities (with their leave and the new manager hired, we no longer have had any community events or emails that made us feel like we were part of the neighborhood). Overall, the complex is handled adequately. We don't worry about our neighbors, the land is kept relatively clean (but there are quite a few people who have been reminded by our property manager to clean up after their dogs), the space we're renting is large and very beautiful, and we're very close to many shopping centers. I would just encourage future tenants to make sure to compare with other complexes in the area to see if the high prices are worth the space.
I called this office to make an appointment for a tour. The receptionist was beyond rushed and rude. The conversation was “ When do you want to tour, because I’m in and out the office all day”, as if she was too busy for any other requests. This was after I waited on a brief hold. If you can’t be nice and accommodating to FUTURE residents, then I will not waste my time and money to be a CURRENT resident. Find better professional, accommodating staff.
Let me start off by saying I’ve been living here for 6 months now. These apartments look great as you can see from the pictures most appliances are very modern and look really good which is great, but looks can be deceiving unfortunately. It seems like they used very cheap material for a lot of other things. They used very flat paint on the walls which means if you even lay one finger or accidentally slide on the wall when walking by it they will scuff very easily. Which brings me to my next point.. the sound through the walls. Now I understand this is apartment living and it won’t be super quiet all the time. I’ve lived in other apartments before but this is ridiculous. As you can see in other reviews you can hear your neighbors even when they’re not being loud, I can hear my neighbors even when they’re whispering. I could participate in their conversations if I wanted to and I’m not over exaggerating. Trash comes every Wednesday and the contractors they hired to pick up our garbage leave trash all over the place constantly. It’s not all bad the maintenance team seems to be pretty good and handle any issue’s in a quick and timely manner. The lady at the leasing office is very nice and friendly too. We’re also located right by a few prime shopping places like Target, Kroger, Etc. I hope this helps someone trying to decide to move here!

Thank you for your Honest review. Sorry we could not better satisfy your needs. If you would like to give me a call any time at 586-598-4235 to let me know about any and all issues you are having on the property I'd be more then happy and willing to discuss them with you and see if we cannot come up with a solution that makes everyone happy. Also, you may not be involved on my email list but all of my tenants are welcome to participate in our Trash Pick Up Raffle on site. If they see any garbage I ask that they pick it up and snap a photo, then send that photo to me and I will place their name in a raffle for a chance to win $100 off their rent every month. Hopefully that eases your mind with the trash on site as we have all been working diligently on keeping this property beautiful. I know I am on the property at least twice a week picking up any and all trash I see on the grounds that may have been missed by our garbage crew. Thanks so much again.
Looks great but you can hear your neighbors talking! You can feel air coming through the cheap windows! There are zero amenities! The builder is at the property every day telling at the people actually doing the work. I wish I would have looked around more. I will not be staying for more than my lease..Goodbye Shelby Pointe!

I apologize for your bad experience with us thus far. Our Amenities are all in process of being put in along with the remainder of the buildings and I wish someone would of let you know that before you moved in. Please reach out to me (Angie) the Property Manager and I'll do my best to accommodate your needs to your satisfaction. Thank you, Shelby Pointe Village Apartments 586-598-4235 info@shelbypointe.com
First of all, the staff is generally great. The builder is a home builder so they're still kind of learning about how to manage an apartment complex, but they are responsive and nice. The homes are quite well put together in most respects. The cabinets are great and the counters everywhere, including bathroom and laundry room, are all granite. Appliances are all higher end (laundry is mid-range but perfectly fine). And the garage is big enough for decent storage in addition to a single car (although if you have a truck, it may be less so). Generally, it feels like a home more than an apartment. Now for the not so good. The walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbor talking in a normal voice. I could participate in the conversation. They used a flat paint on the walls so they scuff REALLY easily. And so far, the worst thing is the construction. Not so much the construction itself as the construction workers. They park all over, sometimes blocking in cars into garages, play loud music all day (even though everyone is working from home), and leave trash laying everywhere. Once the construction is done, things should be better but right now it's annoying that the builder isn't maintaining more control. Overall, however, I am happy to be here so far.

I will make sure to make note of your concerns and present them to the owner as soon as possible. If you have any additional questions/concerns please do note hesitate to contact me at the office at 586-598-4235 or stop into the leasing model any time Mon-Fri 9:00-5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00-2:00 Thanks again! If you choose to save some money and rent a two story unit, you will be sorry. The fact of the matter is that there are people above you as this is apartment living. The staircases of your neighbors are basically in your living room. The A/C units (multiple) will be just right outside your window to add an ambiance to your living room experience. Hope you like having your TV volume up all summer. There are good things with this place. They have beautiful cabinets, countertops, tile in the bathrooms. Nice size washer and dryer. An interesting fact about this place compared to other places is you can bring and animal up to 80 Lbs! It’s awesome to have to dodge all the bombs in the grass from everyone’s dog too.
