Property Ratings at Shelter Cove
We moved in when phase 2 opened in June 2015, It was our biggest mistake . It took us 4 years to find what we wanted. But I must warn you. Do not move here. 1) No sound proofing. You here your neighbors. Manegment weak in response to noise complaints. 2) Garbage is not picked up enough. 3) Not enough parking. 4) Dog poop. 5) Staff turns over to much. 6) snow plowing not done correctly. Or enough. 7) Cheap building materiale. Chipped counter tops. Cabnets not level. 8) Office weak.
I lived at Shelter Cove for two years and I can honestly say I felt welcomed and comfortable. The view of the mountains and the river was outstanding! The rooms are spacious, modern and so easy to keep clean. It is pet friendly, so that was a huge convenience. It is located in close proximity to Albany, Clifton Park, and Troy, so commuting was never a hassle. The grounds were well maintained, and I felt very safe at all times. During the winter snowfalls, all of the staff showed up early and stayed late to ensure the grounds and roads were safe and cleared of snow. It is a very peaceful area with many activities to offer. Austin and Brian, the management staff, are always on top of things and so are the maintenance. It is luxury living that I enjoyed greatly for the years I lived there.
Property Manager at Shelter Cove, Responded To This Review
Thank you for the wonderful review and we are happy that you had such an great experience at our community.
Don't plan on getting your sidewalk or walkway shoveled, plowed or salted unless you do it yourself!!! been living here for 4yrs now and every winter they are a minimum of 2-3 days behind. Very slippery and slick everywhere you walk. For the rent they charge you should see nothing but pavement not ice and snow 3-4 days after a storm. I've never seen anything like it at any complex I've lived at before. Renters beware!!!!
The apartments look very nice from the outside however they are very cheaply built and there is a large amount of government subsidized housing here. Some apartments have 7 people in them and management doesn't care. Impossible to sleep at night because you will either hear people fighting outside, or have large groups of teenagers come in to party down at the clubhouse. Management only cares about getting paid rent, and other then that doesnt care about your quality of life here. Anyone who wants a place where you can relax after a day at work will want to go somewhere else. The apartments themselves look nice but are built very cheap. The floors are all immitation wood or tile, and there is no soundproofing whatsoever. You will constantly hear everything people are saying above, below, and next to you. As people walk past your apartment it is like they are inside with you. This place is all about the look of quality but there is very little of it. There are many other apartment complexes around and for the cost you can do much better than Shelter Cove.
We have lived here for two years, and it's really the best place in the area. Brand new, beautiful apartments, a gym, beautiful pool, and dog-friendly. Lots of private roads for walks, and it's very quiet. The grounds are well-cared for, and if you ever need anything here, they are on it, fast! Couldn't be happier anywhere else.
The apartment complex and area have a lot to offer which is surprising since it is so quite around here. It feels like you live in your own little community with the lack of noise present. The apartment is like a mini luxury home with granite countertops, carpeting and vinyl flooring in different rooms, and stainless appliances. We only have a one bedroom but it is plenty of space for a couple. There are plenty of closets with plenty of storage so nothing needs to be left out. The open layout of the living room and kitchen give it a spacious feel. It is the perfect area with access to the lake and river with only a 15 minute drive separating you from the major shopping areas. It is the perfect balance of a quite area with everything you could want in the surrounding area. Don't plan on moving out anytime soon.
