Tonawanda is close to Niagara Falls and the Canadian border, less than 10 miles north of Downtown Buffalo. Parks stretch along the rivers, and boating is a popular pastime in Tonawanda.
Tonawanda is a terrific place to live -- after renting an apartment here, you'll be able to enjoy the riverwalk path in Niawanda Park, catch a concert at Gateway Harbor Park, or attend one of the city's many festivals. Canal Fest, a week-long festival that began in 1983, celebrates the city's location on the historic Erie Canal. One of the city's landmarks, Tonawanda Castle, is a former armory built in 1896 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, this impressive building -- complete with a 100-foot turret -- is a privately-owned event space.
