Beaver Dam is a small and secluded city on the shore of Lake Beaver Dam in southeastern Wisconsin. The community is positioned about thirty minutes from Fond du Lac, an hour from Madison, and ninety minutes from Milwaukee, putting you within easy day trip distance of three of Wisconsin’s biggest cities.
Historic architecture dots the landscape, from colorful Victorian homes to vintage downtown storefronts to the iconic Williams Free Library, which claims to be the first library in America to feature open stacks. The local rental market features a diverse selection of offerings ranging from budget-friendly apartments to converted factory lofts, allowing you to find the perfect spot to fit your tastes.

Property Ratings at Shoe Factory Apartments
Very unique atmosphere. I absolutely love the large windows and brick. Not your typical cookie cutter apartments. Staff is on top of things and the neighbors are pretty top notch; everyone's friendly, kind. We help each other out.
Rent is on the more expensive side but it’s worth it. Heats included. You Ofer what you pay for and these are units you want to to show off. Central air is quite and cools the entire unit. No ac unit in the wall drowning out the TV and only cooking the one room. You get to use every square foot comfortably all year round. My biggest issue was how small my tv looked against the the 15 foot walls. Best investment I made was the movie projector. How many people do you know can turn there living room into a theater with a 10 foot screen?! I’m a 3rd shifter and occasionally I’ll hear the door close but nothing that’s waking me up Btw my year lease is up and im choosing to stay. I’m only on this site Because I’m considering a untit with a 2nd bedroom.
NOT SOUNDPROOF AT ALL. You can hear everything in the surrounding area. Outside, above you, below you, people going up and down stairs, the elevator, people in the halls and when I say all these areas, I mean clear as day. You can have a conversation with a neighbor without raising your voice. You can hear people go to the bathroom. It’s disgusting how much privacy you actually lack there. Someone is always hearing something. Leaky windows when it downpours. Smells of mold. Beautiful apartments but not worth it. If you have kids, this is not a good place to have them. Last time I was there, quiet time was 10pm-9am. If you have a child, they better be quiet until 9am. Which is very unrealistic, let’s be honest. Kids have energy. Kids don’t have inside voices. Hopefully they will change that. The air usually stops working on the days it’s the hottest. Bring fans. You don’t get a heads up right away either. Winter was horrible. Hopefully they figured something else better but when I was there, people were getting stuck left and right. They didn’t have a solid plan for snow removal. Anyways, good luck if you decide to move here. Great location, the apartments appearance r nice. Would be a lot nicer if people could have privacy talking inside their apartments though!
