Property Ratings at Sierra Canyon Apartments
I have been living here since January 2021 and at first I was hesitant because of all the reviews (they were quite old reviews to begin with). CON: The only complaint I have at first was the parking. There are limited spaces and people keep taking the visitors parking without a pass. We were put on the waiting list and finally got a parking spot. However, this is out of the staff's control when it came to visitors "stealing" parking spots without a pass. The gym, it needs windows :( it is so hot in there. Please fix. The traffic on Sierra Hwy during rush hour, beware! Also, out of staff's control. PRO: Management has changed so I think that's what made the community better. I absolutely love the staff and maintenance staff! They are very attentive and fast when it comes to needing help or fixing something in the apartment. I've built a great rapport with them as well as friendships. They make life living here such a great community. Treat them with respect, they are human beings too and doing their job. The apartment community has a lot of family. It's a very family oriented apartment and all the neighbors are so nice and looks out for each other. Friendly faces everywhere. I feel safe here! So close (walking distance) to grocery, food, cleaners, Canyon Country Community Center (which also houses the Farmer's Market).
Staff is inconsistent, have poor communication skills. They can’t remember what they say and back pedal when challenged. Forget trying to leave messages they will never be delivered. Office hours are not consistent, closed when they should be open. You are better off paying more at another complex than having to deal with them. You have been warned. Read all of the complaints, there is a trend that should not be ingored.

This is the first apartment I’ve ever had the need to review. I’ve killed 50+ roaches, the neighbors smoke weed and it comes through the vents, online rent pay charges $37 per use. You’ll pay so much in utilities that it is well worth it to pay the extra $100 per month for a better apartment! Even if you’re a single person, you’ll pay the same utility $ as your neighbors with 5 people... makes sense right? I know the lowest price is tempting, but don’t fall for it.

Very unprofessional. Don't ever get into trap of giving $250 holding deposit, you will never get it back. I was assigned N105 Apartment, I got approved through their website which takes $10 for the application fee for each applicant but when you go their office, they will request $35 fee per person to run another credit check. I fell into trap giving them holding deposit of $250 and $35 application. Later I was told to bring in $35 for my wife application fee, room rent and additional $250 in deposit when I move in on January 19th, 2018. One week later my wife got a call, if we don't pay the $35 fee by 11 am by next day, our application will be cancelled. Since I wasnt in the town, we thought our apartment was cancelled. Now they won't return holding deposit of $250. I regret going to this place. Avoid it.
Its an older building but rent is still more affordable than most places in the santa clarita valley.
The inside of the apartment is huge- a little over a thousand sq ft for 2 bedroom, 2 bath. The appliances could use a little updating, but again, it is all very decent for the price. The only main issue is the area surrounding the apartment, a fairly scary area, one I would not recommend walking around when the sun goes down.
