Central Tucson is a collection of neighborhoods that are home to some of Tucson’s major landmarks and destinations. Anchored by the Rillito River, Interstate 10, and Reid Park, this part of the city features historic homes built between 1920 and 1960 in varying architectural styles. Central Tucson has one of the city’s biggest commercial districts. Located along Wetmore Road, Tucson Mall houses major department stores, popular specialty brands, a painting studio, and a theater. Oracle Wetmore Shopping Center and Tucson Place next door offer even more options. Along with plentiful options for retail, there are also many restaurants available, from casual eats like frozen yogurt to upscale steakhouses. Entertainment venues in the area such as Funtasticks Family Fun Park add even more allure.
Along with this massive retail and dining hub, the University of Arizona, Tucson Botanical Gardens, and the Toy Train Operating Museum are located in Central Tucson.

Property Ratings at Villas Los Duraznos
I've been living here for the past two years and am about to finally move out. Over the past 2 years there have been 3 different management companies. I'm only going to speak about the current management and living situation. The pool has been drained for more than 6 months at this point with no hope of it re opening. Earlier this year we had two months of no hot water. The water gets shut off roughly twice a month for hours at a time. There's no emergency maintenance line. During the new installation of the smart door locks they would install it and then not tell you how to get into your own place since your key no longer worked. They had us fill out a paper with our information so they can email us instructions which they never did. This resulted is everyone who works during the day to be locked out of their apartments when they got home in the evening. Did I mention there is no emergency maintenance line so some weren't able to get into their apartments until the following day. Management doesn't know what communication is. There is no AC during the winter or spring. When the chillers were supposed to be turned on and we got notification that it would take 2 weeks to fully cool down we still had no AC when it was 100 degrees outside. It wasn't until everyone complained that we were told the chillers were broken. It took over a month to get the communication that it was broken and the entire complex, not just building, but complex didn't have access to AC. The roaches. There's is a roach infestation. Maintenance requests will be completed without anyone coming to your apartment to fix anything. When told they there was a water leak it was ignored until the 4th time being told. Then when they fix it they leave a mess behind. When asked to check for black mold because the wall was being discolored near the water leak, they simply painted over it. Yet it is still there and the black spots are growing in size. When management throws an employee bbq at the complex they blast music that can be heard down the block with no regard for the people who live here. It's not in the best neighborhood so I get to play gun shot or fireworks on a daily basis. While the outside of the property looks nice and the photos on the site are well photo shopped, it is a complete mess. I strongly urge you to look for other places to live.
I have been living in this complex for 6 months! I couldn't tolerate and moved out one month earlier and wasted my money for this place. The advertisement is a Lie! Don't let them to fool you by their advertisement and model tour. They are nice with you till you sign the contract. After that, they are irresponsible to the problems. There was frequent water shutdowns! I would feel the smell of the smoke in my room a lot ! Some nights it was crazy! The conditioner wouldn't work in the winter and they didn't repair it by the end of winter. During the whole winter I was breezing. The washers were unavailable for more than a month and the manager wouldn't care at all! There was no gym while they would advertise it! I don't recommend it at all ! I wish I could give zero star rate!
This is the worst place I have experience since I moved to Tucson. Let me Begin, The Water is off 1-5 Times a month, they have no security or lights in the parking lot, it is roach infested, you cannot adjust the water temperature, management change too often, repairs often go unfixed, you do not control the heat or air, you only have until the 1st to pay your rent; on the 2nd, you are late! You do not get an incentive for renewing your lease. All they want is the money and that is all!
Everyday at this apartment complex is another day for a new struggle. Monday-Roach Infestation. Tuesday-Water is completely shut off. Wednesday-Homeless bathing in the pool and washing their clothes. Thursday- AC isn't working. Friday-Overflowing dumpsters everywhere. This apartment complex is exactly like that, except you're actually dealing with these issues at the same time and EVERY SINGLE DAY. The management can never answer any questions I ask, and are little to no help with any situation. Haven't had hot water in months, and the apartments look nothing like the picture.
I visited these apartments and the floor boards were disgusting, the AC did not work, and there were constantly bugs inside. I do not understand how they could post beautiful images yet sell non-refurbished apartments. To add, the apartments are not in a good area and I would not feel safe going out at night without my dog.
Sending maintenance request every day. Because I don’t have HOT WATER for over 2months! They take care when ever you take an attitude and took the thinks that don’t work to the office!
Not even for free, crime, drugs, roach infestation, unsecured, just the worst place I ever live.
Very UNSAFE The transients and tweakers at all hours of the night is bad enough, but to walk around in the morning and seeing them 'PASSED OUT' on the sidewalks is simply UNACCEPTABLE.. the security gates are a JOKE
Don't move here unless you like sharing your apartment with roaches. Place is just overall gross, I made the mistake of moving in without seeing the apartment first because of covid restrictions and I was tight on time, couldn't look around. I felt like the price couldn't be beat and you get what you pay for. Management is bad, debatably worse than the last owners who sold the complex sometime in 2020. Like I said earlier, place has roaches upon move-in. They turn the water off all the time, sometimes you get lucky and they give you a notice on your door, usually not, and it'll just be off for hours at a time. My neighbors are the worst, they are always outside and fighting and yelling at all hours of the day. I absolutely hate this place. I have 2 coworkers that also live here, we all moved in around the same time, and we all agree we shouldn't have moved in at all, it was just convenient for us all to rent a moving truck and move all of our stuff at the same time.
The place is infested with roaches and mice. Terminex comes but never helps. Spent our own money to fix the problem. Killed over 40 mice in less than a year the last year which is why we moved. Water is never hotter than lukewarm and turned off on the average of no less than 3 days a month for continual repairs. We lived there 5 years only because the rent wasn't to awfully high and the we had a 1sr floor patio. The office girls can be nice but the 2 managers we had act and treat you with no respect and that any cost is coming out of their pockets. Owned by a Chicago properties company and they dont care either. Managed by a Pheonix company. Very relieved the nightmare is over. Very high renter turnover.
Here you’ll be over paying 100$ for water that constantly gets turned off without notice and leaks outside. The workers don’t speak English and will take a least a month to fix any problems in the apt including A/C during the summer time. Overall poor quality and service. Seems like they don’t care about residents.
drugs are everywhere . There are cockroaches you will never get rid of. They spray every two weeks . Not a good place to live. dirty and just because it is a gated community does not make it feel safe.
I haven't even moved in yet and it's been a literal nightmare. I signed a lease to move in on Dec 20th, I read all there awful reviews AFTER I signed, regrettably. Most reviews said the office was terrible so I called on the 19th and asked if my move in was still good to go. Two hours later they finally called back and said "Actually we are going to have you move in on the 29th"(really? And NO one had plans of calling and telling me this). I was very upset because I used PTO on the 20th to move and have my brothers help. Knowing how awful the office was, first hand now, on the 27th I called to make sure everything was good to go, they said it was. Then on the 28th they called and said "We are actually going to have you move in on the 30th". Luckily I had that day off, I was so upset, now I have no one to help me. On the 30th I went to the office at 11am and asked for my keys and they said "move in isn't until 5pm." NOT once did they ever tell me that. Not once, and I asked if it was on any of the paper work and they said it didn't have to be. Any decent human being would tell their future resident that. Anyways I haven't even moved in and I'm currently calling their upper management to try and get out of it. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
I have lived here now for 2 years starting my 3rd year now. The employees that work up front are amazing . I love the fact that the bus line is right out front and you have plenty of places to walk to and easy access to getting to downtown Tucson . Friendly neighbors and love that it's a gated community . Pet friendly . I plan on staying here for quite some time .
