Just 40 miles from the bustling streets of downtown Charlotte lives a North Carolina city with a knack for southern hospitality. The Charlotte suburb of Statesville resides in Iredell County and offers a sense of community difficult to find in busier metropolitan areas. With its plentiful peaceful neighborhoods, quality school system, and host of fun activities, this suburb is fabulous for all. Much of the city includes farms and wide-open spaces. Locals will frequent Howard Family Farm to collect fresh blueberries and tulips in the warm months and sunflowers and pumpkins in the fall. The outdoor fun continues with Statesville’s many golf courses, hiking trails, and scenic hot air balloon adventures.
Residents might enjoy a quiet Saturday by strolling around historic Downtown Statesville perusing an art show at Iredell Arts Council.

I have been at signal hill apartments for several years. I have enjoyed my,stay management and maintenance are very kind and helpful. Very quite to be in the middle of city limits and no problems with my neighbors. Great pricing for affordable living would highly recommend living here.
The floors creak like nothing you have ever heard before! The doors and windows are ridiculously drafty. Everything is outdated and old. The maintenance men are so friendly/helpful but the whole place just needs a MAJOR upgrade. The pool is much too small for the amount of people living in the complex. The "playground" is old/outdated, very small, and seemingly pointless. The floor plan advertised and shown to us is not at all what we are living in. The location is desireable, seemingly safe, and hey, it's a mostly affordable roof over your head. I could go on and on! The owners NEED to update and upgrade this property. Don't be fooled by the pictures!
I've rented here since December & at 1st I really liked it. I'm in a 2 bed/1 bath. Closet space is absolutely great & having a laundry room is great too. Bad thing is they sacrificed kitchen & bathroom space to give you so much closet. The floors creak non-stop & in my unit, there's one spot in particular that's worse than the rest of the floor. I avoid it as much as possible (I live on the 2nd floor). All of that is minor in comparison to my main complaint. The neighbor directly below me likes to play his guitar, which is fine, as long as I don't have to turn up my TV volume just to hear it, which I did a lot. He has surround sound so when he watched his TV & there's a lot of bass, it sounded like a thunderstorm brewing beneath me. I went downstairs & asked him to turn it down. He did for awhile. Then it started again. I called the manager & she said she would talk to him. Things were good for another month or so. Then it started yet again. Stomped my foot on the floor & called the manager AND the main office in Charlotte. That seems to have helped but I don't know for how long. Supposedly he's been here for 8-10 years & I'm the first one to complain....right. I know for a fact the lady next to him doesn't like hearing his music so loud because I've talked to her. I don't mind him playing his music, he's got talent, but if I wanted a concert I'd go to one! Bottom line: if you move here, pray you've got great neighbors. If not, and they've been here for 5+ years, management will take their side over yours, even though you pay rent here too. I'll be leaving the end of November
I have to say, still not thrilled for being here. The parking in front of my building has not been great pretty much ever since the weather has turned cold. Held my tongue for a while until recently when I went and made a formal complaint with the manager. She said all she could do was put out a letter saying that each apartment is allowed two parking spaces for two vehicles only, and that every resident is allowed rights to the 'first-come-first-serve' parking spaces, for which I totally agree, seeing as how I have been apartment living for quite a long time now. But if that is the case then where is my parking spot? My husband and I have pretty much been sharing a spot and there is still not enough sufficient parking in a parking lot that I must say is pretty huge. I fail to see the logic that there is THAT many people living in my building alone with only 8 apartments in it. Next, asked what if we informed the owners of the complex about the situation and the manager said that would not make any difference because they would just say the same thing that she said. The parking is the least of the problems here and I would still not recommend living here if you want a nice, well-ran apartment complex. Hence--you get what you pay for.
I was in need for an Apartment and I filled out an application for Signal Hill Apartments and I was approved with just a few days. I am enjoying my new home such a pleasant place to live with all the conveiance of restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations and more all around. Love it. And you will love it too.
As I said in the title....you get what you pay for. Cheap and affordable rent for a very old and outdated apartment. It's clean and the layout is roomy but the kitchen and bathroom are kinda small. The washer connection in my apartment is ok but there is no appropriate dryer connection so I cannot use my dryer. I had to get a new fridge b/c ours kept leaking and they about had to pull someone's hair out to get it. Their policy on broken or old used worn-out appliances is keep fixing it and using it till it breaks instead of going ahead and doing the smart thing and replacing it. The bathroom tub in our apartment needs to be replaced beacuse it is old and of course they won't do that. I keep a rolled up towel next to the top of the tub to soak up any water that runs out on the floor. All in all the apartment is livable and is better than being out on the street. But if you want quality then this is the place you DON"T want to be but if you are looking for affordable (cheap and outdated comes with affordable now a days) then this is your place.
I lived here for almost 2 years. It's a great place and cheap. Everything is clean. They have a great staff! Very helpful maintenance crew. More than worth the money!!
