Galindo developed during the 1950s and its ranches and bungalows reflect the style of the time. The mature trees shade the streets and add to the neighborhood’s established appearance. Galindo extends north from Ben White Boulevard to Oltorf Street, roughly two miles southwest of Downtown Austin. A great option for students, St. Edward’s University is less than a mile east of Galindo and the University of Texas at Austin is about five miles northeast.
Diverse and family-friendly, Galindo is recognized for its good schools and excellent location. The neighborhood has one large park, South Austin Recreation Center, which offers a tennis center and a walkway. In the northeast corner, just outside the boundary along 1st Street, Gillis Neighborhood Park provides a swimming pool, hiking trail, and a playground. While Galindo is mostly residential, you will find a variety of shops and restaurants in the community, especially along 1st Street.

Property Ratings at Silver Creek Apartments
German roach-infested, no pool for over a year, the ceiling collapsed damaging my washer and dryer, and several items and no credit or apologies were offered. Rude and unprofessional property manager that changed last-minute move out date in spite of having email confirmation and blatantly added charges and hung up on me. Loud neighbors, dog waste everywhere, and mold-ridden. The only positives are location and prompt maintenance staff.
Multiple buildings are known to flood regularly and have mold. They never fix it properly. STAY AWAY
Diane, the aggressive and embittered "property manager" is to be avoided. Lacking any sense of decorum, she shouldn't be allowed to interact with people. But yea location is ok.
The Silver Creek Apartments are located south of downtown Austin, and minutes away from everything an Austin resident would want. A small complex as properties go, the Silver Creek Apartments offer many floor plans, from one to three bedrooms, some with spacious patios and washer-dryer connections, others with an enclosed "green room", ideal for an office space or a third bedroom. The on-site management is experienced and helpful, as are the maintenance crew. The complex is well-kept and clean. There are laundry facilities on premises as well as a off-site laundries minutes away. A lovely two-tier pool sparkles in the center of this 78704 gem. Having lived in this complex for almost 20 years, no other property has the amenities and location convenience. Pet friendly and electronic lease payment are just two of the many features in this awesome complex!
Perfect location. Close to all amenities. Great quality apartments.
