Property Ratings at Silver Spring Towers
I loved my view, and it was a good place to live for a year. Clean and the staff were good about repairing things. Neighbors could get loud though, that's why it's only 4 stars.
I was stuck right next to this one apartment home who makes extremely loud noises. If you want to live where there are walls of paper, then this place is for you.

We stayed in this building for over 4 years, moving from a studio to a 1 bedroom then a 2 bedroom until our family grew out of it. I have to write this review because the staff deserve more credit. We can’t thank Neyda, Pablo, Chris, Daye, and other staff members enough. Pros: - The best thing about this building is the staff and I hope the management company pays them well. From the 1st day when we moved in until the last day, they always responded to our calls for everything, never ignored our requests, always tried to help. Some buildings you’d have to go through a corporate number but not at Silver Spring Towers, you’ll talk to someone who is actually working in the building. - Prime location. We could walk everywhere in downtown Silver Spring: groceries (Safeway, Whole Foods), parks, cinemas (pre-pandemic), shops, cafes, restaurants, library, UPS, post offices, doctor’s, dentist’s, etc. There’s a nice neighborhood right behind the building with several parks within walking distance. - Reasonable price, utilities included. No hidden or extra fees, we paid rent and parking and that’s it. They didn’t charge us extra fees or ridiculous fees like some other buildings. The ridiculous ones include: Amazon hub fee, annual amenity fees, etc. - Everything worked and if something broke, which happened quite often because the building is old, the staff came quickly, sometimes late after business hours to fix the issues. Cons: - The building is old and the management company doesn’t seem to spend much money on it to improve the quality of the materials they use in the building. The walls are thin, old carpets, cheap wall paint, etc. - The neighbors: this is a big problem but it’s a hit and miss and cannot be completely controlled by the building, especially during the pandemic. In the past, we had good neighbors who didn’t cause any trouble and it was good. The last 2 apartments, we had neighbors who constantly made loud noises, tapped on walls, and smoked weed. There was someone on our floor constantly throwing garbage bags in the garbage room without putting them in the chute, or sometimes just leaving them hanging on the chute door. That caused a lot of problems with a cockroach infestation. Some people didn’t wear masks - walking around, talking like nothing was going on despite the staff reminding them.

I been here a year the staff is very friendly and the Property Manager is awesome. The building is quite the maintenance is excellent and the Property Manager treats it like its her own home. Most residents have been here for years there really isn't really any reason to move never had a complaint. Close to everything great place to live.
I moved into this apartment 4 months ago and since then I haven’t seen any problem. The AC works perfectly everything is just perfect even the stuff. Its just the security problem like anyone can just come inside the building and i think that should be fixed other than that its a great apartment to live it.

Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you are experiencing the Southern Difference!
I have been a tenant for almost one year and I have yet to see any mice, roach, or any other bug infestations. This place is clean and it is always constantly being cleaned, or painted, swept, mopped so I rarely ever see trash around. I am appreciative that all utilities are included in my rent and parking which is 100 dollars isn't too bad compared to what others charge. Maintenance is super responsive, my tickets often get answered the same day or the very next day. I have not had to request maintenance very often here.super convenient to Whole foods, CVS, Bars/restaurants, Safeway and downtown silver spring, as a single woman I feel safe here, and I leave and enter my apartment at all hours during the day and night. There is construction going on nearby, so the noise pollution is quite high, I use ear plugs at night to get sleep, construction starts at 7 am everyday except Sundays another downside is the no washer and dryer in unit, I really wish there were but I have had no problems getting laundry done, as there is a washer and dryer on each floor and I have rarely found them to be occupied.
The location is so nice but you going be end as second hand smoker. The apartment smell something like a smoke bar. The management doesn’t do anything about it. It is totally smoke welcoming apartment.
I lived at this apartment for more than 3 years with my family and I think it is one of the best apartments in the area. This is a really great apartment with an awesome leasing team. The best things about the apartment are the location and the free utilities they provide. It is right in the middle of downtown Silver Spring and everything is at a walkable distance. All utilities are free so you do not need to worry about any extra costs at the end of the month. The apartment is cleaned regularly and the common areas, like the reception, gym, hallways etc. are always clean. The package receiving service is also good and all packages are kept safely until you pick them up. Overall it is a very good apartment and a great place to stay.
If I could give a negative 209480948 I would, but it's just no possible. We moved here as it was the only place that would give us a 3 month lease in SS. Needless to say, we paid way more than others and the place is a complete dump. From the dirty dated carpets, ugly walls, hallways wreaking of smoke, to the HORRIFIC experience with the management I could talk for day's. I honestly have so much to say about how heinous this place is, if you need more information please feel free to contact me. All I'm going to say is, in short, we had a black mushroom grow right next to my head where I sleep, they didn't test anything, but came and ripped up the carpet only to reveal mold covered throughout the entire room floor boards, that reached up into the wall. They "made sure" to remove everything and didn't give a flying F about our wellbeing or if it was actually black mold. They cleaned the room, which wreaked of chemicals for days and we couldn't' event sleep in there for weeks. They offered a discounted parking fee? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. The management is in denial of the disgusting way they handle potentially life threatening black mold. They said it wasn't "mold", but days later were ripping down the wall on the other side of our apartment and I have on recording the company saying it was full of mold. This building should be condemned. Don't move their if you care about your health or living in a building that cares about their renters. I've never been so disgusted and insulted in my entire life. I wouldn't live there for free. This happened nearly 6 months ago, but I hesitated as we were going to take them to court and sue them, but was planning a wedding simultaneously. I believe in karma, and will trust that it will work itself out.
This place has gone way down hill since the apartment management took over... there are what appears to me as prison bars on the front entrance of the thayer side, i see bugs all over the pace, i think people smoke cigs and weed in their units based on what i smell, theres no security at night, the manager is non responsive rude and disorganized... i think this place is becoming a slum.
I have been a resident at silver Spring Towers for 9 months. This is a very nice community to live in. The concierge is always there to receive packages, answer questions, and let you in if you're locked out. The rooftop pool is amazing and the management staff hosts many events to keep the residents entertained. The kitchen has new appliances but they are a bit small. The rooms are very big and spacious with huge Windows . There are washing centers and trash centers conveniently located on every floor!! I cans at this place is a gem and very reasonably priced.
We love it here! Friendly staff and residents, walking distance to everything in downtown Silver Spring, and the apartment itself is everything we need. Everything is clean and we can enjoy an outdoor pool and deck during the warmer months, while taking advantage of the fitness room, community room, and events in the building during the winter!

If you want city life without the city price tag then Silver Spring Towers is for you! Great prices, courteous staff, and convenient location. A pool deck with free WIFI, 24 hour fitness center, and great community events. The metro is within walking distance, shopping, dining and nightlife are all at your doorsteps. Step out at Silver Spring Towers!
Silver Spring Towers is still a good deal in an area that is rapidly growing. It's an older building, but the newly remodeled apartments are reasonably priced. The pool and gym are great features, and are perks you'd pay a lot more for in other newer buildings. The location, directly across the street from a supermarket, and a 10 minute walk to the Metro, is fantastic. It's close to all the shops and amenities of downtown Silver Spring, and is a quick metro or bus ride into D.C.
If you're looking for a solid choice of an apartment to live in, Silver Spring Towers is definitely a sure thing. The rent is decent (around $1100/month for a decent studio), with utilities, gym, and pool included. The walk to the Metro is a little bit longer than other apartments (12 minutes for Silver Spring Towers as opposed to 10 minutes for Colesville Towers or 4 minutes for Twin Towers) but it is much cheaper than those other apartments for a single person. The parking is expensive ($85/month), but that comes with having a car anyway. The service from the front desk and staff is great, and the response time for service requests is decent. The internet options/tv options are limited to Comcast/Verizon Fios, so expect to pay $80-$100/month for that if you want to (again, just like parking, a luxury not a need). The travel to major highways is good (two I-495 exits within 2 miles or so of Silver Spring) so driving long distance is more accessible from Silver Spring than say from Hyattsville or downtown DC. The commute to DC from this apartment is also quite manageable, with an average rush hour drive from Silver Spring Towers to Union Station, DC lasting 40 minutes. There are several roads that lead from Silver Spring to DC (Blair Road -> North Capitol Street, 16th Street NW, and Georgia Ave/Route 29) so this apartment is situated in the perfect location if you have a car
This is one of the more affordable apartments in the area. They are secure, well maintained and service calls are usually handled within 24 hours. There also are laundry and trash facilities on every floor which is very convenient. All the appliances are up to date and utilities are included !!!. The building has a gym, pool, rec room, and patio for residents and their guests. The location cant be beat, you are within walking distance to shopping centers, movie theaters, restaurants and a metro station. I enjoy living here.
