Outside is nicely maintained. Inside maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner. Neighbors are friendly and quiet. Lived here over 10 years. No complaints.

Ive been here for 27 years and my only complaint is the pool. It is closed more that it is open and it’s been that way for several years. I have not had to use maintenance with the new owners so I can’t comment on them. With the previous owners it was just okay. I have several things in my apartment that need to be fixed although nothing urgent.

I have lived with Silverwood for a year and all maintenance request are handled asap. It’s a quiet neighborhood and have several options of nearby walking paths.

I like the apartment and it’s nice to see that the complex is cleaning up and fixing up the building and surrounding landscaping. only downside is that I think they need to put in handicap parking for the disabled because I can’t seem to find any except at the office.

I’ve enjoyed living here so far. Neighbors are friendly, neighborhood is clean. There are many doggie stations which is nice for the dog owners.

I applied for an apartment via their website paying all fees and the deposit, I then received a call the next day informing me that the apartment was not available nor anywhere near ready and therefore they would refund all money back to my card. Now weeks later I have not gotten a refund and cannot get a response from any member of their staff.

Silverwood is a great value for all that is offered. They have a great location, great rent prices compared to other areas in the KC metro, friendly staff, and the space is nice as well. Additional upkeep of amenities and stronger communication following the sale to a new ownership group could be stronger but still would highly recommend living here if looking for a great spot to live close to downtown and Overland Park.

Quiet, comfortable apartments. Spacious for what you pay for. Shared amenities like pool and gym are meh, but not important to me. Enjoy my apartment, will stay here as long as rent increases are not astronomical.

If you're looking for a clean community, spacious and low priced apartments with modest but current updates, and central to the Mission area, Silverwood by far is the best place to call home. Looking forward to new management coming in with hopes to see some community & amenity upgrades. The staff is great and I've enjoyed living here!

They never should have rented the apartment out to start with. The day I moved in the bedroom floor flooded. Day and a half later it did it again. I was told they had tried to fix it but there was no way they could test it, they would have to wait for it to rain. Their fix was FOAM along the wall and bottom of ground! You run a hose over it to see it isn’t going to work! They didn’t have another apartment to move me to so they had to release me from my lease. I had to stay a month before I could find somewhere to move to. They refunded $154 no pet deposit like they said. I was there for a month and they kept $600! To make things worse I found out the apartment next to mine had been putting up with problem for 3yrs! DO NOT RENT HERE!!! They should have been required to give my entire deposit back Including the month I had to stay there and moving Expenses! I’ve written the STATE SENATOR AND Representative about the problems of bad apartment complexes and complex management. They’ve contacted me and said they are looking into the problem throughout the STATE of Kansas and a few apartment complexes that are right in the same area as SILVERWOOD. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t hear from them sometime soon as I will be calling and letting them know of the missing $600 pet deposit refund and how the apartment should never have been rented out to begin with.
I have lived at Silverwood for 4 years. The new management company has made so many much needed improvements. The maintenance and office employees are the best that I have experienced at Silverwood or any previous places where I rented. Kudos!
Lived there Jan 2017 to June 2018. When we moved in, the apartment was mostly clean - but not professionally clean - and there was dried blood on the window shades and frame. Small maintenance problems took MONTHS to fix: the light switch in the ceiling fan was broke, it took TEN contacts over five months to get the $6 part replaced. The other light in my bedroom had a bad thermocouple, it kept going on and off, they never replaced it, so at night my room was lit by a desk lamp half the time. Maintenance staff worked on our gas furnace on three instances and each time had to come back on multiple days. Helpful comments from their new, untrained, unsupervised repairman: "I've never seen the inside of a furnace this dirty! We should do more maintenance!" "You're lucky this didn't catch on fire!" "I've never done this before!" "That gas leak shouldn't be much of a problem if it's just one day." Seriously.... And the kid cussed a lot. But he was okay. He said he planned to take HVAC classes one day so he could learn how to do the job. They person who sent him in unsupervised should be fired. Management left notes on doors saying they'e enter our apartment for inspect for bugs, fire extinguishers, furnace filters, fire alarms, pets housekeeping, whatever. But they never replaced missing fire alarms or changed the furnace filters. And they never, ever gave the 24 hours notice required under state law before entering a residence. They left a note one day saying they were re-paving and would have "tow trucks on hand" to tow cars starting at 0700 the next morning. ---Who does that? Who plans to ruin someone's day by giving short notice so they can tow someone from their regular spot, getting them a couple hundred in fees, causing them to miss work, and other hardship? All for what? Paving that covered 10% of the two zone? Was it a kickback for the tow truck company? What kind of person does that? What kind of person even threatens it?--- Oh, yes, parking: not enough of it. I parked on the street most often and I never got towed.

I'm a current resident who's lease is up soon, I do not plan on living here any longer! Their prices are too pricey for what they have to offer, I would not recommend Silverwood Apartments to anyone! Great area to live though.
It's been a year since I've lived here and I'm still mad about it. The staff was great when I moved in, but they all left about six months into my lease. (Maybe that should have been a sign?) The new management was horrendous. Just getting a person to answer the phone was nearly impossible, so prepare to stop by the main office regularly. I had a light out right outside my door, making the long hallway dark and uncomfortable to walk alone through at night. I called maintenance and submitted online requests weekly for two months before I snatched a bulb from one of the outdoor lights to replace it. I even left a note on their website saying that I did it and that they now need to replace the other light. THREE MONTHS LATER, they got around to fixing the second one. Like others said, the parking situation is ridiculous. I've never seen so many cars towed in my life, especially while their Bobcats take up four spaces for weeks at a time. The hot tub was "closed for maintenance" the entire year I lived there, only to be told when I was moving out that they never plan on fixing it. When I was ready to move out, I was told that they only hire a cleaning service if you don't do it yourself. So I had the carpets professionally cleaned and scrubbed everything down to the floorboards. Then they tell me I owe them for cleaning services anyway. I asked for an itemized receipt and it took two months for them to send me an otherwise blank piece of paper only saying, "Cleaning Services - $150." I was so frustrated that I just paid it so I could be done with them. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Your blood pressure will thank you.
I honestly would never live here again. Within 2 weeks of living here the police were here 4 times for separate tenants. I previously lived in a 2 bedroom townhouse and went to a 1 bedroom apartment at Silverwood and my bills are more than what I paid at my previous place. There's storage out on the deck which is nice, but my door is rusted through to the point where it's not worth it to store anything in there. The windows are inefficient and let in a draft, and there's large chunks of paint and wall missing in my pantry. I'm often sweeping up paint chips and drywall, which they have yet to come fix. The place takes a while to heat up, and it took them a week and a half to fix a broken thermostat. I was having issues with my shower drain and it took them about a week to look at that as well. They do a quick and easy fix instead of doing it right the first time. We had an issue because the maintenance didn't have a copy of my key, so when I gave it to management to make a copy of, I never got it back and then had to pay a lock out fee. The appliances are old and inefficient, I often have to try multiple cycles on the dishwasher and laundry machines to get my things clean and dry. The parking is absolutely horrid, and it's almost impossible to find any parking after 6:30. I'm supposed to be living in a nonsmoking area due to health reasons, however my upstairs neighbors smoke like a chimney. I cannot open my windows without my place smelling like smoke. I've mentioned this to management a couple of times and nothing has been done, even with provided documentation from my doctors. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors every move. The amenities are okay, the gym was renovated, but the equipment is still a bit outdated and dirty. They have been renovating the stairs on the opposite side of my building since I moved in, and they walls are thin enough that they shake as people go up and down the stairs. There is no sign of it being completed anytime soon. As a single girl, the only upside to this place and the only thing that makes me feel safe is that I'm allowed to have my dog. I would not recommend living here at all. You can definitely get more for your money elsewhere.
Silverwood is by far one of the nicest apartment complexes in the area for its price range. I had looked at several other complexes nearby but the moment I saw Silverwood's amenities I knew were I wanted to move. It's hard to beat a 24-hour fitness center, tennis courts, and a beautiful pool for this price. Buildings are a little dated though and it shows.
