In a downtown district where every corner scene belongs on a postcard, Market West manages to stand out. With a strong sense of self and a collaborative community, the neighborhood exudes a distinctive character that doesn’t compete with, but complements, the neighboring historic Old Market.
Together, both neighborhoods create the western-most portion of Downtown Omaha. This centralized location blossoms with opportunities for residential communities and commercial businesses, as well as civic and nonprofit organizations. Renovated brick buildings line original cobblestone alleys, containing rentals situated alongside diverse neighbors like a family-run grocery store, international development foundation, architectural firm, and the Omaha Symphony offices.
Perhaps this collection of professional establishments, anchored to the neighborhood under posh lofts and upscale apartments, defines Market West more than anything else.

Property Ratings at Skinner Macaroni Lofts
Current resident but not for long! Best parts are washer dryer and dishwasher disposal in units. All 3 have broken. Washer took 5 months to get new one, dryer is going on 4 months broken with no attempt to fix. Disposal 2 months. Called 15+ times. Promised call back and look into. Nothing. Can’t move quick enough!
Bad manager, they don't respond to emails or phone calls and the building is run down.
This has been the worst experience in renting an apartment. They ignore your calls, don’t answer their phones, and if you have a maintenance issue they ignore it for months then delete it from their system. The management is horrible and they are driving this property into the ground.
Former tenant here. In short, this building had a VERY bad flood in August 2021 and dozens of units were affected. There will be long-term mold issues. The building is owned by a property management company, Elevate Living, and they only care about money. They truly don't care about the tenants. Not worth it, look elsewhere.
Elevate clearly does not care about this property and it shows. Any amenities shown in photos are a gross exaggeration- the gym is full of broken equipment and the roof is in disrepair. The outside of the building is often unsafe at night, with groups of homeless individuals congregating around the building's perimeter unchecked. While the folks at the leasing office are helpful, they cannot make up for the neglect from Elevate. Yesterday was the final straw for me. I have been reporting a leak in and around my unit since February of this year, but it hasn't been repaired. Yesterday, severe storms brought flooding to every single floor of the building, with the start of the leak being within feet of the area I reported. Now my apartment is partially soaked with water, the carpet destroyed and some of my belongings ruined. There is yet to be any cleanup started, and it has been 12 hours. I have called the emergency maintenance number multiple times but haven't been given any guidance. Don't move here.
I called for a week before talking to an actual person. When I FINALLY got a tour scheduled, they canceled last minute because someone with a sooner move-in date showed interest.
AVOID! Under new [local] management! Other complexes under this management include the Old Market Lofts, Skinner Macaroni, L14, L15, Jones 13, and quite a few others around town. I fought with local staff and corporate staff regarding my inadequate AC performance for 4 months. The end result "yeah, we aren't fixing it - it is running fine" Well, 84 in my bedroom at 12am is not "running fine". My curtain has been broken 4 months and is just dangling there. I had leaking in the roof and was offered buckets as a fix for the winter. There is still water damage in the walls. 4 months ago, something changed and the company has become more obsessed with money than fixing broken issues. Property stolen from my storage unit. Charged my $750 to move from one apartment to the next even though everything was clean in the old apartment...it was a processing fee or some nonsense. I could go on, for a whlie. This used to be a good place to live. Likely moving out soon.
I contacted the staff because I am moving back to Omaha from Washington D.C. and I needed to find a place to live before I came back. The staff was extremely helpful! They sent me pictures of the apartment I would be moving into so that I could have an opportunity to see it before signing a lease. They spent a lot of time answering my questions through both e-mail and phone calls. I can't wait to finally move in!
This used to be a wonderful building to live in. In the past 12 months, the building has been a construction zone and property management has not done anything to compensate for the noise or inconvenience of constant construction. Tenants are told to "deal with it" even though we're paying the same amount of rent as we did prior to construction. Noise is so bad that you cannot be in your apartment during the daytime. There are constantly people from maintenance or building management in apartments, looking at the structure, etc. Construction workers are everywhere, all the time. If you like your privacy or want to spend time in your apartment, look elsewhere.
