Overall have had a smooth move in experience with Melissa and Connie. We live on the brand new 17th floor, and there were a few imperfections that the maintenance staff fixed right away. Location is great and it’s nice having everything within walking distance. Security is 24/7 and the building feels secure. Overall I would recommend living here.

Before you sign a long-term lease at Sky on Main I would consider the following 4 points: - In the last year many of the units have been converted to short-term, air BNB - style leases which are managed by a 3rd party. From the two short-term units near our apartment we have so far witnessed a domestic assault in the hallway as well as evidence of hardcore drug use and distribution. I compare this experience to living in a cheap hotel, despite the extremely high monthly rates they charge their long-term residents. In short, we do not feel safe living here and are actually moving out 3 months early because of this. - I can confirm management has offered a free IPAD giveaway as well as gift cards in exchange for positive online reviews. One may want to consider this when assessing the overall rating. - The entire building does not recycle. Recycling receptacles are located on each floor but everything ends up in the trash. I mention this not only because of the terrible waste, but also as an example of management’s desperate attempts to cut costs. - There are dozens of better options in downtown KC at similar (or lower) price points. I recommend looking elsewhere.

I moved in a week ago and because it was a brand new apartment, there were a few things that had to be adjusted. I have never seen a staff take care of issues so quickly! They had someone up to fix our issue within 10 minutes. The security is great,and the property managers are incredibly helpful. Not to mention, for the location, amenities, and overall apartment unit, the price is GREAT. Would highly recommend!

My roommate and I recently moved in and we have nothing but good things to say about the building and management! Everyone has been extremely friendly, and the staff has always been quick to respond to any questions we have had. The gym is amazing, elevators are quick, and the building is always being cleaned. We also feel extremely safe, which is always important! Highly recommend.

I've lived here for a couple of months, and it has been a very positive experience so far. The apartments are beautiful, modern, all appliances are new and excellent, and maintenance is prompt. Management have been very helpful and a delight to deal with, especially melissa and wendy. The building is well maintained, security is always present, the gym is also great and has all sorts of machines and free weights. the location of the building is also a positive, it's right on main street and right next to a streetcar stop. There are so many cafes and restaurants a walking distance away and the public library is next door. Definitely 5 stars.

I truly love living at Sky on Main! The leasing staff and security officers are so kind and helpful! They always make sure to take care of maintenance issue and anything you need. I know I can always count on them to be there if I need anything. The amenities (gym, game room, etc.) are very nice and clean. The location is perfect and there is a streetcar stop right outside of the building which is very helpful if you do not have a car in Kansas City. I love my apartment! It is the perfect size and has everything I need! I am so glad I chose to live here this year!

I just moved into the Sky on Main last month and it is WONDERFUL! Our views are incredible - overlooking the River Market, airport and downtown with windows wall to wall in the kitchen and living room. The staff is so welcoming, helpful, and timely in responses AND the units are brand new! Close to power and light and river market, streetcar access outside our front door, and awesome gym and onsite parking. The perfect place for anyone moving to or around KC!

We have absolutely LOVED our experience at Sky on Main! It's only been a month but the staff here is extremely friendly, responsive and accommodating (and has continued to be this way). Connie was so great to work with and helped us throughout the leasing process. Melissa is an absolute doll and a smiling face that will brighten your day! She's quick to respond to all our emails and requests. Wendy has been so great about ensuring we have everything we need and that we feel at home. Our apartment couldn't be more perfect for us (plenty of space, no noise, nice gym, great features and finishings, etc). The only bummer is that the windows don't open - we love the sounds of the city and some nice fresh air. Overall we would highly recommend Sky on Main!!!

Hands down, far and away, the worst renting experience I've ever had in my life (i.e. - 15 years of renting). Construction began roughly 6-7 months ago to convert the 18th and 19th floors to residential space. We were never notified by management or ownership--we just woke up one day to the sounds of hammering and drilling. It took them weeks to even acknowledge what was happening, and even then they only did so because tenants (like us) were stopping by the leasing office to ask about it. At this point, it is very clear to me that this building will eventually be entirely residential. See other recent reviews for more details on that front. The ownership's apparent game/strategy is to fill up the building on a piecemeal basis so that they can continue to fund additional construction. Of course, this also means that residents should be expect to endure the noise for years to come. Here are just some of the issues we have dealt with, many of which are obviously construction related: -We have had our power and/or water shut off numerous times on weekends; -One weeknight all of the residents had to stay in a hotel room up the street so that the power could be shut off to the entire building; -We have been locked out of the building numerous times due to card reader failures. In one instance, it took roughly a week to even get management to believe and/or understand that there was a real problem; -In just the last three months, we have been notified on two separate occasions that our water would be shut off for 7-8 hours at a time during the day for "preventative maintenance" and/or "flooding" on other floors. In both instances, we were given short notice and no compensation. In spite of their explanations to the contrary, I have no doubt these shut-offs were largely construction related. We have asked ownership and management to tell us when the shut-offs would be expected to end, but they will not even respond to our emails (this is not an exaggeration).

Moved in with the thought of being able to be in the middle of downtown but away from all the crowds. I picked this place in hopes to stay for a few years if not more and make it a home. Instead living there has been a hassle since week one and the owners and property managers seem to make sure you know this is not your home with every chance they get. Been through 3 property managers and nobody likes to let anyone know what is going on. They also decided to convert floors 18 and 19 to apartments and not communicate to the tenants that construction will now be happening monday through friday, it has still not been communicated to date and we are 3 months in so all we know is that it will never end. Wasn't until everyone heard the noise that we knew we will now be living with construction. Communication is the worst at this place and its apparent the owners have no idea how to manage a residential building vs a commercial building.
This apartment complex has a lot of potential but for the price you pay, I would look elsewhere. The location is great but living here comes with a slew of major inconveniences. The water pressure is often too low, things are constantly breaking due to cheap construction, and maintenance issues often take weeks to be resolved. Safety is also a bit of an issue. The apartment complex is located right next to a major bus station so homeless people loiter right outside, in mass. I've literally seen people fighting in front of the building and my girlfriend gets harassed at least once a week. On top of all of those issues, the leasing office will find new and interesting ways to get more money out of you to make up for their rent specials.
