Chicago’s reputation as one of America’s most distinctive cities owes a lot to the electric atmosphere and vibrant culture that defines Downtown Chicago. Iconic sites like Grant Park, Soldier Field, the Chicago Theatre, Navy Pier, and the Chicago Riverwalk are the most famous landmarks in Downtown, but that barely scratches the surface of what the neighborhood has to offer: dozens of theaters, live music venues, museums, and galleries fill the area, along with hundreds of shops and restaurants catering to every conceivable taste, plus the campuses of Columbia College Chicago, DePaul University, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
The Loop, Greektown, River North, and the Magnificent Mile are all nearby, easily reached by a short ride on the train. There’s no shortage of swanky apartments and condos in Downtown Chicago, but you can often find great deals on studios as well, allowing you to live in the heart of the action even if you’re on a budget.

Property Ratings at SKY55
Very pleasant team. Very courteous and informative.
I had a great experience at Sky 55, staff was really nice, knowledgeable, and the facility was really clean
Everything is perfect across the board!
I’ve been a tenant for over two years, and it’s been nothing but disappointment. The overall experience of residing here is NOT TOP TIER. Lets begin with the amenities, the package service that is a required additional fee each month is horrible. Even though the tenants are being charged, one must wait several days after it stated being delivered to receive it, because the front desk personnel which is usually one person is required to place all the packages in the storage bins. This facility has over 40 floors with only 2, push carts to provide for tenants if needed. The elevators are always NEVER fully operable. 4 elevators in the facility and you are lucky if they are fully operable for a month consecutive. Building is non-smoking yet reek of cigarette and marijuana smell some days. When advise management staff of it, a simple flier is posted; nothing further. The facility has a parking lot, that is an additional monthly fee in which they mandatory attach to the rent, without giving one the option of setting up their own payment date; frequently some days are extremely difficult to find parking; extremely filthy. If it’s an event, the monthly tenants are NOT a priority. Multiple times MONTHLY TENANTS HAD TO PARK ON THE STREET, because the parking garage and management DO NOT COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY in accommodating/prioritizing the TENANTS FIRST, and the lot is full. The garage has a reek smell of marijuana as well some days. The Gates become broken at times…and you have to wait until front desk personnel to give you access out. Which is a mess if you paying for monthly in and out immediate access. The management staff has a high overturn rate, its hard to keep a report with them, because the staff changes so frequently and its frustrating. The rental increases are ridiculous. I currently incurred a $500 increase!!! Currently in the process of speaking with management regarding this issue, and its been a nightmare. Reached out to Brookfield Property multiple times and unsuccessful. Spoke with the current property manager regarding the issue; No fair solution. Requested to speak with Corporate, assisted with number, which is a complete failure. Left several voicemails and no reply’s. Been trying to speak with corporate since November. No one wants to truly accommodate you fairly; but faithfully send you a invoice for the rent. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO CALL HOME.

Property management is excellent. The building is kept up very well, along with wonderful amenities.
Great building at a good price.
Overall very comfortable environment to live in. Everyone is very friendly in the building. I’ve never had issues with my neighbors being loud or causing any chaos. Staff is always courteous and friendly. Great location with everything being so close like, restaurants, Grant Park, museums, grocery stores, etc. All within walking distance. I would recommend Sky 55 to friends or family.
I Love this area it has everything you need and more it's more then expected.
I have had countless problems with this management, from them overcharging and refusing to communicate with me, ignoring phone and emails, having a snotty attitude, never making an attempt to connect with residents, contracted out security who doesn't gaf who walks through. the building is always under construction, amenities are always closed.
I was canceled on twice for an in person tour and no one would ever answer my emails or calls and voicemails I would leave.
Initially, we scheduled a video tour of this unit 48 hours beforehand. On the day of the viewing, we received no call whatsoever, so I called and explained to the property manager (Megan) who I was, and that we had a showing. To my surprise, she asked what I was looking for. Interesting, when all of my information had been sent over just days prior. I explain to her the preference, she says she'll get back to me with the information soon. Megan did not get back to me at all, and I wasted an hour of my extremely busy day. Eventually, after I called the managing group to tell them of the aforementioned, she sends a 3D tour which could have been, and was found on apartments.com prior to our tour request. Doesn't seem like they are in any need for tenants, and I will not patronize any business that has this amount of unprofessionalism.

Living in the Sky55 Building has been a roller coaster. For the first year it was great! Second year management issues, parking issues, noisy residents. It's so close to Solider Field and during events its gets pretty hectic. The pool is great, gym is nice, great security! Ready to leave and move the stress behind!
