I have been a resident here for about 6 months. The whole complex is infested with rats that have caused damage to my car. The office staff never answers their phone or emails. There is always trash everywhere and huge potholes in the complex. Save yourself time and money and do not move here.

My partner and I were desperately looking for apartments that hadn't been too affected by the rent hike (our last place went up about $400...yikes.) Skye Crest stood out because their prices seemed fair and they, despite being a bit older, are in better shape than many of the "luxury" apartments around the immediate area. Many, if not all of the units were recently remodeled and done well. Melissa and Emily made applying, signing, and moving in a breeze. No fuss, no extra paperwork or unclear requirements, and pleasant interactions throughout. Melissa made sure that I got the unit I was expecting and Emily has been nothing but helpful with the small issues that we had coming into the apartment. When we arrived, everything was immaculate and though there were a few issues, they were fixed fairly quickly. The grounds are very well kept and the common areas like the dog park and the grill/community area are kept up and pretty. Tenants seem to spend a lot of time in these areas, if not because they're well maintained. The pool is nicely heated, as is the hot tub. The complex makes use of Amazon Hubs placed inside the main office where it's nice and cool. I have meal kits delivered and it was nice knowing that the hub wasn't sitting in the sweltering heat while I'm at work. Also, Melissa puts together fun events and brings in food trucks every month. That cheese steak was delicious. Overall, I'm very impressed with Skye Crest and I hope they continue treating their tenants great. Be on the lookout for move-in specials. They're often quite gracious and saved us a huge chunk of cash upon move-in.
Live here if you want to feel every step your next door neighbor and downstairs neighbor take. I live on the third floor so I have no upstairs neighbor. A manager here confirmed to me that this complex has no slab between floors. If you want to hear and feel every thing your neighbors do, this is the place to live. If that does not appeal to you, maybe you should not move to this complex.

Save yourself the fees and steer clear. This company and their leases are developed to screw you over. Moved there in April of 2017 into a dusty apartment that required a full cleaning. It was an average year in an average apartment. I realized early March I still had not yet received my lease renewal offer, so I reached out to see what was needed(the lease requires 60 days). After emails, and verbal apologies from the staff we put in our notice and turned in the keys right on time, end of April. About a week later we received a bill from the office staff for almost $1,600. Mainly consisting of a $1,250 charge for late notice. Although THEY failed to actually deliver our renewal letter(which was due to be delivered 2/26, but conveniently never made its way to my door), and then apologized, and deceivingly avoided the topic. I understand a lease is a contract regardless, but the lack of integrity and knowledge is sad. This company consists of money suckers, and for sub par apartments in a sub par community. The new staff member who took over got the fees trimmed down to $1250 for the mistake of the previous staff, but that doesn't make the thousand dollars any less sickening and disheartening. Again, save yourself from going in debt and feeling scammed. Not worth it. I'm sure they will try to comment to defend, but unless they want to refund my $1250, I'm not convinced.

When we first moved in, our apartment wasn’t ready on time. Even after that the management team made it up to us. The old staff made sure the doggy bags were always stocked, the property was well kept and above all else, they were friendly. They sold the property… The new management team is awful. They close the office early without any warning, so if you want to pick a package up after work, good luck. Then there's the ALARM, this thing is louder than anything I have ever heard and it regularly goes off in the middle of the night to wake up the whole complex. No one picks up their dog’s poo because the bags are out and no one hires anyone to clean it up. They flood the grass until it's mud, ignore property maintenance such as leaves. Their new thing is a gas fire pit that doesn’t work. If they do any renovations to the property, expect a $60 CAM charge to show up on your bill. The front office smells like cigarets as the staff spends more time smoking outside the front door than they do working. The manager is outside regularly flirting with the maintenance men, smoking. If you need something from the front office, you’ll find no one at the front desk to help you, because they are in the back room playing on their phones and chatting. One of the girls, who only sits at the front desk when the manager is outside smoking, can be found playing on her phone while her breast hang out of her shirt, ready to ignore you anytime you might need assistance. The only person who seems to do any work is nice lady with very short blond hair. The maintenance crew rescheduled our bi annual check ups 3 times without any notice! If you have pets, be ready to leave them in a kennel all day only to find the staff cancelled! Need something fixed? They will do a quick fix until it breaks again. As for the apartments, if you move here choose the top floor. Vaulted ceilings look neat until you realize your ceiling is someone else’s floor, with nothing in-between and above you is a midnight bowling alley! Also, don’t pay for the "steel" appliances, appearance is the only good thing about them. The fridge has one control for the device meaning if you don’t want to freeze your veggies and still like to have your ice cream stay frozen, it’s not going to happen. The oven doesn't have a cleaning setting. The only good thing about these units is the huge bath tubs so you can soak away all the stress living here has caused you.
If you live here, you can expect: rats, both dead and alive; dog poop; screaming kids at the pool; lots of extra charges; maintenance requests that never get done; to bet on your apartment not being ready when you move in and your having to chase the property manager to get things done; and an apathetic property manager. This property has all of the things that make you wish you'd not rented here. I certainly wish I had never seen this place. Note that the only good reviews are from at least 11 months ago.
We got our apartment on 2/15/17 -- the experience has been terrible. The apartment was not ready when we received the keys. It needed to be painted, baseboards were disgusting, carpet had stains, bathtub was disgusting, porch light broken, 2 sets of blinds are broken, microwave is broken. According to the assistant manager this was all placed and a work order and it would be taken care of ASAP. We are still waiting for the blinds, microwave, and porch light to be fixed. The office staff has not followed up regarding status. The property manager is not very helpful and it is noticeable though her attitude in her voice. It is unfortunate that this is just the beginning.

I give Skye Crest 5 solid gold stars! And I very rarely take the time to write reviews for anything. My boyfriend and I recently moved to Lakewood, CO from Silver Spring, MD. We searched high and low across the Denver metroplex for the best apartment home for an affordable price. Skye Crest Apartments really stood out online. Their floor plans, amenities, and location seemed ideal. When I came to visit for a tour during a very brief stop while in town for business, I was blown away at how perfect this place really was! Jeff is AWESOME! As soon as I walked in, he was incredibly helpful and flexible! I told him I had just 2 hours to take a tour, possibly submit 2 applications and go get money orders because I had to fly out. He mentioned to me that this was his second day on the job because the management company just took over the previous day. The office was organized and beautiful. There were no indications of any major transition. Looked like a seamless transition to me. This guy was the only one in the office, and people were coming in nonstop for various reasons. He multi-tasked like a champ while giving me his undivided attention! He showed me a couple apartments. We even FaceTimed my mom because she is looking to move here too. He gave her a FaceTime tour! In addition, the grounds were impeccable. And the apartments had everything on my wish list, EVERYTHING! I was sold! I left to pick up my money orders and came back. He was extremely busy with calls, residents and potential residents, and he handled everything with grace! He was very nice and professional with every one of us! He even stayed late while I finished completing my paperwork and acted like it was no big deal. Super cool dude! He kept in contact with us, and even got us brand new renovations for not much more than the original price! After driving a U-Haul for 4 days, my boyfriend and I were exhausted. Brooke and Beverly were also great! Brooke helped us get all settled in very quickly. And she had lots of information for us and answered all of our questions with her undivided attention. I want to give this team kudos for going above and beyond. They renovations were stunning! I appreciate their hard work in getting us in and never making us feel like needy burdens! Since we've moved in, we've fallen in love with the community! It's quiet. Residents are way cool. And the view of the Rockies is breathtaking!
The apartments itself are very nice and luxurious. Staff are very friendly and are not intruding or nagging like other apartments. The price is really good, especially for Denver. The people are quiet and there are never any noise complaints. Some cons are, rabbits are everywhere and use the restroom all over the grass and roads. Trash tends to get full quickly. Also parking can be a huge hassle since it's a free for all.
I lived in Skye Crest for about 3 1/2 years. I had to move out because they raised the rent without any upgrades. Ownership of this place was changed from when I first moved in. They fired the office and upkeep staff when Fairfield took ownership. My main complaint that it had become very unfriendly. They forced the senior citizens on fixed incomes to move out. It is typical what's happening in Lakewood. Investors are buying these properties from California, like Fairfield and they don't care about anyone but themselves.
Location is fantastic, community well maintained and maintenance issues resolved quickly. Staff is friendly and easy to work with. Clubhouse has everything you need workout room, business center and tv viewing area. Pool and hot tub are always clean, BBQ grills available for use by residents. I would definitely recommend Skye Crest
