There’s something about Downtown Savannah that many people are drawn to – could it be the cobblestone streets? Or perhaps the centuries-old moss-draped oaks resting in the historic “Savannah Squares?” The answer? All of it, and then some!
Nestled beneath 22 park-like squares, historic Forsyth Park offers residents a large green space encompassed with landscaped walking trails, sports fields, and gardens near its center fountain. Because of its rich history, tons of museums line the community – from the Civil Rights Museum to the Juliette Gordon Low House (founder of Girl Scouts of the USA) and a hat museum!
Savannah College of Art and Design resides in Downtown Savannah near Madison Square. Tourism is mainly centered on the streets close to the Savannah River, especially River Street. On this cobblestone thoroughfare, residents and visitors alike enjoy its candy shops, rooftop bars, and historic brewpubs. Up the road, VinneVanGoGo’s is the spot for pizza.

Property Ratings at Skylark
My SCAD student applied for a 2 bedroom with a roommate. Each roommate paid $100 application fee. I had to be a guarantor for my student because she did not qualify on her own. I ALSO HAD TO PAY A $100 application fee as a co-signer. $300 out the door. Non refundable. Long story short, as a guarantor, I have to earn 4x the rent for the entire apartment even though my daughter is only paying 1/2 the rent. And I do not earn 4x the rent of the apartment because they are expensive. Just a warning to those with young adults / students.... to be wary of paying those fees unless you've done the math and are solidly over 4x the rent.
I've lived at Skylark for 10 months and love it! The apartments are absolutely stunning! So bright and open. The rooftop terrace has such a beautiful view of the bridge. And the staff is wonderful and pleasant to speak with. I highly recommend living at Skylark!!!
don't live here they will screw you over and try to charge you extra
The worst experience speaking to management during leasing process. Do not rent here!
Do not lease with this apartment complex. I have never experienced such horrible communication and such unprofessional treatment from staff. They made many promises during the tour and pre-lease process, leading me to apply and pay the application fee. After they took my money, it was complete radio silence. I did not receive a lease for weeks after, and only after requesting it multiple times. No call backs to phone calls/messages, email responses took over a MONTH, and management was incredibly rude and disrespectful. There are many better buildings in Savannah with responsive and trustworthy staff.
Promises were made during the process of working with a leasing agent and led to my agreement to pay the admin fee. The leasing agent left the company. The lease I then received (after paying the admin fee of $480) did not align with what was discussed during the process of applying - different terms, unit, pricing. Management says they cannot help me with anything the former leasing agent promised. I requested a new lease with at least the correct number of months since the one I had received was incorrect. I called and left messages for weeks and no follow up. They did not send me a corrected lease and now claim I never requested one. I finally spoke to the manager (after being forced to sign a lease with a new apartment building in the meantime due to not being able to get ANY response from this one for over a month) and I was told I never requested anything, and that what I was explaining to them was completely untrue. They said I should have come to the building to negotiate changes to the lease in person (DURING THE PANDEMIC and during the winter holidays) and it was my fault that I was not able to get in touch with them. Now the manager has treated me terribly. So to all those looking for an apartment....steer clear. This was an outrageously disrespectful process all around. This company will not take ownership of their own staff and lack the ability to communicate.
