Tucked in the foothills of the soaring, rugged San Juan Mountains, Downtown Durango has a long connection to the Rockies. It is the forest headquarters of San Juan National Forest, a vast area covering almost 1.9 million acres. There's a definite Wild West feel to Durango, especially with its Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, a railway dating to 1881. It was designed to transport gold and silver from the mountains; today it is a National Historic Landmark that takes tourists on scenic, educational excursions.
At the heart of Downtown Durango, you'll discover the Main Street Historic District, which contains more than 100 buildings built in the late 1800s. These include the Central Hotel, built in 1899; Woolworths, built in 1859; and Burns Bank, built in 1892. Today, this elegant district contains art galleries, gift shops, boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.

Communication is extremely lacking. You’ll be told one thing but it won’t be accurate. Oh and a 24 hour notice to enter your unit? Forget about it they will just come and go as they please but don’t worry you might not even know they’re in your unit because they’re not gonna announce they’re inside to do work. Oh, that makes you feel unsafe especially if you’re a female living alone? Well get over it cause they will tell you they don’t have to give you notice. So just make sure you’re not in the shower when they drop by unannounced or doing anything you should be able to do in the comfort of your apartment that you’ll be paying an astronomical price for, feeling safe, welcomed, and secure won’t be what you pay for.

The skyline facility its self is Aesthetically very pleasing. I cannot say enough about the management in particular Doris who has been very friendly and helpful from the onset of my inquiries. I had to wait three months for my apartment, but it was well worth it. There were several issues upon move-in, but Doris and Melissa were so helpful and gracious by providing me with a hotel room when the apartment wasnt ready. There were several issues wrong with the apartment after my move-in which was additionally stressful for me to get through, but Melissa, Doris and Andrew did an excellent job of getting the apartment in good condition. I initially was only looking at a six month lease on this Apartment, but I am seriously thanking I will be staying longer than that.

once Greystar moved in all things have changed at Hillcrest. they have repaved the road so when it snows and turns into ice the whole parking lot turns into a ice rank. the next thing is that now you have to do a DNA test on your pet to keep the grass clean. i would add that the office is always closed and nobody is in there to help you. if i was looking for an apartment and not stuck in a lease i would move out. do no consider living here!!! p.s. since it is close to Fort Lewis College their are always parties and it it is always loud at night. many restless nights.

Everyone working at the office is extremely rude. They are very condescending, especially if you are a college student. The apartments have these ridiculously deep speed dips that have no warnings, and they are really damaging to cars. Just don't move here.

I have lived at Hillcrest Apartments for over a year. I feel safe and comfortable here with me and my dog. The management, Leah is WONDERFUL and on top of everything. She is VERY helpful and kind..,AND HONEST!! The grounds are always well maintained --the facilities are very clean and it is super convenient to everything.
