Also known as the Freedman’s Town, Fourth Ward is one of the six historic wards in Houston, just a few minutes from downtown. The area is also known as Freedman’s Town because it was a post-Civil War community for free black Americans. Today, you can find luxury condos, high-rises, and vintage homes throughout the neighborhood. Fourth Ward is also great for families with teenagers because the community is home to one of the top high schools in the nation.
A great choice for nature and outdoor lovers, the Fourth Ward has several green spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy. Popular Eleanor Tinsley Park offers running trails, lush trails, a dog park, a skate park, and public art with skyline views. If you’re feeling hungry, there are a lot of options nearby for restaurants too.
Located within the 610 loop and near Interstate 45, Fourth Ward occupants can get to the city center in as little as five minutes.

Property Ratings at Skyline at Midtown
I’d recommend these apartments to anyone! The staff is so amazing and helpful. Sharon made my move to Houston much smoother than expected. Any concerns I’ve had, Vanessa handle professionally and quickly. Lilly is super sweet, I love how accommodating the office is. My friend used to live here, suggested this property and she’s moving back so that speaks volumes.
This property is a complete joke, especially compared to the price you pay. Elevator out in a 6-floor building for over 6 months now and counting. Cars are constantly being broken into...like 40-50 cars at a time. No security. Cannot wait to move out of this trash complex.
MOLD!! When leaving they don’t want to give you your deposit back! Corporate is unhelpful to resolve your complaints when management is ignoring problems.
Don’t move here and I really regret about this. This nightclub will ruin your EVERYDAY sleep until 2am. Management doesn’t care. Calling police everyday but still have loud noise from the shouting DJ, they will turn back the music on after police leaves. The apartment is poorly noise sealing. Maintenance is still very slow, have been waiting for the fridge’s water dispenser to be fixed for two weeks, and still waiting. Elevator always broken down at least per month.
MOLD. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. I wish I could give 0 stars. I deeply regret moving here. From day 1 it has been miserable. A new company took over and I should have ran for the hills when my lease had the name of the previous owners. Move in day, I didn’t get a packet nor a piece of paper, just keys. No welcome letter, no info about the property. A few days later, I was expecting a package. It’s arrived, but I could not retrieve it because I was not registered by the property for package management, even though they insisted it was done. This opened a can of worms when I approached them to get access to my package. The property manager YELLED at me and told me that she was “helping with a new tenant and money was involved”, so she couldn’t assist me. Have a not paid for service? Come to find out, they had misplaced that tenants keys. She apologize after I refused to leave because of a failure on their part (the package contained my internet set up and I work from home). They then told me I did not have a package. I ended up calling the package concierge myself who told me I indeed had a package. I had to wait another day to plead with them to walk over and open the package locker. Talk about a waste of time. During this incident, I reported a horrid smell in my apartment, not once, but twice verbally. The leasing office suspected it was the water and asked that I let the hot water run for 15 minutes and open the windows. After going on a hunt because 6 burning candles could not mask the smell, I found MOLD. This mold isn’t contained, but on the baseboards and walls of the laundry room and closet. I suspected it was also in the room harboring the hot water heater that I do not have access to. Maintenance man came to “treat” and stated that it was from a old leak’s treatment that wasn’t finished, but “the paint looks good”. Why wasn’t the treatment finished? Why was I moved into a unit currently being treated for mold with my knowledge? In all honesty, this is the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in and it can’t be blamed on previous management. With my current circumstances, I can not live in an apartment with recurring mold.
I've been here for almost a year, and everything was so well on the property until they sold it to these new comers this beginning September. That trash chute has piled up, the POOL AREA IS LOOKING GROSS & management has yet to invite residents to any social hour events. Also, we have all this stuff that needs to be assisted with and the maintenance guys sit in the office and the family room all day lolly gagging. I've never seen the pool look like this... the palm tree has been broken since September, the chairs are out of place, the pool Has turned GREEN.... I don't think I'd renew my lease after this... it's unacceptable and we pay way too much for this. DO BETTER SKYLINE MIDTOWN!
The worst part about living here is the staff & management. Since day 1 I have had issues with management, their attitudes & the way they handle/resolve customer issues. I have been screamed at by front desk staff, hung up on, calls purposely ignored, etc. Since I have lived here, I know of 5 incidents regarding break in of multiple cars & bikes/property stolen. I have brought up to the staff that safety is a concern multiple times. There are several doors that the locks are broken & the building can be easily accessed by someone who does not live here. I brought it up to staff a month ago when my bike was stolen & they did not fix any locks or take any steps to investigate how criminals kept entering the building. A staff member saw the guy stealing my bikes & never reported it to management & he took one of the bikes that the criminal left behind and left it unsecured in the parking garage & did not report it either. Management says it's not his responsibility to report it. I asked that the property manager contact me about this & after a month, I still hadn't heard back. She even tried to lie on the phone & say we had already spoken about it when we had not. They also continue to leave the automatic gates open for days. This morning about 5 cars in two separate floors were broken into, including mine. When I called the office to speak to someone about it - I was told that management had more important things to tend to. This is not the first time I have been told that the manager has more important things to do or is "too busy" to tend to my issues. Once the manager finally called she said it wasn't their responsibility even though the locks in the garage are broken and the gate was left open. The lock on the door to the elevator in B1 is broken and it has been like this for months - despite me bringing it up. If criminals are accessing this parking garage, what is to stop them from going up the elevators and start looking for homes to break into? But management said safety is not their responsibility. The crime sucks but what sucks even more is how much the staff doesn't care and how rude they are. At this point the crime is their fault directly due to negligence in security measures. & unfortunately it's not just the crime, it's simple issues like maintenance requests, billing, and issues with the lockers in the mail room that have taken days to weeks to either hear a call back or resolve.
1. Resident parking is an absolute disaster. I routinely am unable to park in the garage, because it is at capacity. Leaving your car in the street and walking a few blocks happens quite frequently. I am sure non-residents are parking here, and they are not being towed. 2. Visitor parking is somehow even a bigger disaster. The visitor area is filled with cars from the local bar or people sitting in their cars for hours on end with it running? (Drug Dealers?) My visitors have to park many blocks away and fear of towing and car break-ins. 3. There was quite a bit of water damage to my apartment flooring from the previous resident when I moved in. Tiles have been coming up. It has been 6 months and it still has not been worked on. 4. Elevators go out of service frequently. In building 2 there is only one elevator and it is also the freight elevator. I believe it has gone out 8-10 times in the last 6 months. It has broken on weeks residents who are dependent on it during moving causing a catastrophic issue. 5. Nothing the building management can do about this one.... just more about the community. Quite frequently the lobby of my building is trashed from residents/guests. I have seen cigarettes put out and left in the elevator. The dog park is filled with dog crap and no one picks up after themselves. I moved in here from memorial because of the location being closer to downtown and the apartments are relatively newer. I regret making the move.

For a majority of the time I lived here, there was ACTUAL MOLD growing around the windows in my main bedroom and management did nothing about it. There's security issues all around the apartment with door handles breaking often. The elevators are broken half the time. The first floor flooded during Harvey and often smelled disgusting. For the price they charge, it's really not a great place to live. I don't recommend living here. They've changed management a couple of times and it seems every time they do it, it just gets progressively worse. As of today, I have yet to receive my security deposit due to the horrendous management issue. My husband and I have emailed and called many times and yet, it's been almost 4 months and nothing. Save yourself the trouble because the people running this place either don't care or don't know how to manage the property.

Here at Broadstone Skyline, we strive for excellence, and are disappointed to hear that you received anything less. We would like to work towards a resolution, so if you are willing, please reach out to me directly at Broadskylinemgr@greystar.com so I may research your security deposit refund. Again, we are disappointed to learn of your experience here at Broadstone Skyline, but will take this opportunity to improve. Thank you! Marie Route Sr. Community Manager
Don't be surprised when you come home only for the garage sensor to stop working on you. This has happened multiple times within a few months, forcing me to park on the street, which is notorious for towing. Not only that, but management is unprofessional and takes multiple weeks to respond to almost anything. Currently management is changing to a new company so hopefully things will change, but I wouldn't be too hopeful.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE. There is a huge issue with safety for one - emails almost every single day about cars getting broken into. I did not even feel safe walking from the elevator through the guest parking garage to the dog park at night. But even worse than safety was management. Time after time, my roommate and I were treated horribly by not only the management at our complex but also the regional management. Strike one was when we went to move in and the apartment hadn't been cleaned. They put all all the blame on us for the uncleaned apartment by saying we tracked in dust from the balcony. Cabinets, curtains, and door handles were broken when we moved in. They only apologized to us once I wrote a review about this experience publicly. Strike two was about a month after moving in. We received emails from management accusing us of having an animal in our apartment (which we did not). Although we emailed them back and told them we had no animal, they did not believe us and accused us of lying. We were charged the $300 pet deposit multiple times throughout our term at this apartment complex. It was around this time we began to feel uncomfortable in our own home. There was an occasion where our property manager was about to take the elevator with us, but when she saw us coming, she turned and took the stairs instead. Strike three was when we were charged $50 for placing a box in the wrong location in our hallway for pick up. We explained to them that everyone on our floor put their boxes there, so we assumed it was the right place. We were charged without any warnings for this occurrence. Strike FOUR was when we had a leak in our ceiling that we thought was going to cause the ceiling to cave in. We were forced to call the fire department. We contacted management about this occurrence, so they would know what was happening, and they NEVER got back to us. Management never even checked in to see how we were doing after this happened. HORRIBLE customer service. Things got so bad at our complex that my roommate and I packed up and left within 48 hours of finding a new apartment. IT WAS WORTH THE EARLY MOVE OUT FEES. I 100% do not recommend Broadstone Skyline or any Alliance properties.

Hi there, we regret to hear that your recent experience was anything less than exceptional. Falling short of meeting your expectations is not to the standards we strive to achieve, and we humbly ask for the opportunity to make this right. Thank you providing this information so we can improve upon our services. We hope to hear from you soon. Broadstone Skyline
I have lived here since the building opened... the apartments are nice but I must say management is terrible (they have switched everyone 2-3 times) Long story short... they sent me a renewal contract I signed it... a week later at 3 AM on a Monday morning the manager Anita sends me an email (so unprofessional... she needs management classes for sure) that the contract is incorrect and that the rent is actually higher. Never apologized, actually acted like I typed my own contract... clearly someone within her staff approved it and sent to me... I didnt sneak into her office and type my own contract. Needless to say they are unprofessional and never take ownership. I emailed Anitas boss and up to now still dont have a response.
This property is hopeless for the following reasons: 1. Poor Management 2. Halls are filthy 3. Not secure 4. Rough trade living here/no way they past criminal background check. 5. Cleaning crew is horrible. 6. Security guard does nothing. 7. Parking garage has red danger tape, so you have no where to park. 8. Corporate management never gets back to you. Keep in mind all these people are getting paid! For doing what? NOTHING! Hope this helps you make an informed decision. BTW: anyone leaving a 5 star review does not live here.
When I first moved here I loved this place now its gone down the drain. The managers are horrible never return a phone call back you have to keep calling to hear back from someone. The elevators are always broken at the same time If not one of them is always out. The parking garage gate always broken. The assistant Manager shay is horrible they only seem to care when you move in. I left several message to Anita Sr Manager and she has yet to call me back after 4 days. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. My A/C went out I called the office put out a notice no one ever came to fix until 3 days later some how the work order was lost. Now that I am moving out after being here for almost 2 years they are not even helpful to anything.
When I moved in at the end of September of 2018, I initially really liked the location, lack of road noise (my apartment faced I-45) in the living room, closet space. However during my time living here I ABSOLUTELY LOATHE this complex. The interior hallways are not kept clean consistently. The loading elevator seems to break down once every 6 weeks. Sometimes its down for a day, other times its down for over a week. There has also been an exterior door that had the glass smashed in and the doors in the stairwell do not require a FAB entry, key, etc. The door had broken glass around it for 3 days before a board was put up. Essentially an exterior door was exposed for free entry by any person to get into the complex. This was a serious security issue in my opinion. There was 0 (ZERO) communication from the managers office about this issue as well as any projected downtime for the elevator. The management team seems to be more concerned with sending out reminders about pool rules, trash times and getting your parking permit. Also the roads to get to the parking garages (which seem to break down almost once a month as well) will destroy the front end alignment of your car, and good luck maneuvering around if you have a longer vehicle. If management communicated about these larger issues (daily used equipment and resident security) I wouldn't be as upset, but they cannot communicate crucial details.I cannot wait to move out of this poorly managed complex.
Management is extremely rude. Our car was towed out of the garage and when asked management about it they stated we needed to have a red sticker for parking pass. We have lived here for 8 months and they have sent mass emails about a parking sticker which we assumed was the sticker they gave us at move in to open the garage so we didn’t pay attention to them. They told us it was not their problem and walked away. When we first moved in our apartment smelled of smoke and the management said that it wasn’t their issue the apartments are smoke free and they wouldn’t do anything about it. We have two elevators in building one and almost weekly there is at least one elevator down or both for multiple days. The gates to the garage are often broken and cars have been broken into as well as the glass door entrances to the stair wells. we still have a few months left on our lease but we for sure will not be renewing our lease.
I never leave reviews, but I’ve seen reviews and was an hopeful idiot, who hoped it didn’t happen to me. The EXACT same reviews & thoughts from individuals from months ago, to a previous resident yesterday, say what I’m going to say. This apartment complex is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful apartments, decent looking neighborhood - especially if you like downtown areas. BUT the management & other staff completely eradicate the beauty of the place. The management is terrible, rude, they cover everything up, do not try to assist or accomodate you, etc. Cars broken into, bikes stolen, yet their excuse/response, AFTER YOU’VE EMAILED THEM THE SAME QUESTION 3 TIMES, is, “Oh, sorry. We couldn’t see it on the cameras”. Mind you, a resident has to email them multiple times to get a response, when they’re supposed to “get right on it”. If your propert is unsafe due to the area, the LEAST you can do is ensure your residents feel as though their leasing staff CARE to assist. We pay entirely too much money that goes towards security, security cameras, secured access & gates, for us to NOT be secure. We pay an extra fee, each month for valet trash.... Just to have to call the office multiple times & tell them the trash staff aren’t picking up the trash. The amenities are always locked, can’t get in, etc. Elevator has broken multiple times. Waited over a month for a leak to be fixed. I would not complain if I were residing in an old, run down, raggedy place, paying for what I get. But I pay for LUXURY to live in luxury & be treated like luxury, or AT LEAST like a decent human being. They’re constantly giving really attractive deals to get people to sign because they can’t fill this place. There’s a reason. Multiple neighbors and myself have already stated we’re relocating. Broadstone, down the road was just bought out by greystar. Maybe they need to, as well. Because they do not check the individuals they hire. I’ve been a leasing agent, amongst other customer service jobs. These people are the worst. I didn’t take the REAL advice of others. Don’t be like me. PLEASE don’t live here.
I am currently getting to the end of my lease and I would reccomend people to go somewhere else. About a month ago, there was leaking in my apartment that stretched 10 feet and remains wet every time it rains. By the time I reported it there was mold on my wall and the baseboard became detached. Maintenance came and sprayed a solution on my wall to stop. He said in about a week they would come and switch out my baseboard and fix my wall. Fast forward a month later and nothing was done. My health has begun to decline due to this and I am constantly staying out of my apartment because I am getting sick while home. I reported this to Shay the assistant manager who was passive and came up with a creative story as to it's not mold....its just wet. She said that the company has not allowed them to order the baseboards and that there were areas where the baseboards have been removed , but they do not know where the leaks are coming from. My question to her was why wasn't my apartment baseboard removed and etc like the other areas. I said is it because I have 2 weeks left on my lease? She said we placed a dehumidifier in your apartment and removed the baseboards...I said when did you all do that, because I was just in my apartment 3 hours ago and I did not authorize you all to go in it. Then she tried to back pedal out of the lie. This is the second time my baseboards were damaged due to structural issues...the first time it took them 3 days to get the baseboard ordered from home depot and that was when I first moved in. In closing they do not care about the health and welfare of residents and they think we are stupid. It seems like I will have to pursue legal remedies in this situation. I would hate for the next person to get my unit, because I know they are not going to dig in the wall to patch the leak as I'm on the 4th floor out of 6.

The worst property management I have ever encountered at a apartment complex. It's a dangerous area. My vehicle has been broken into. The building is not secure. The staff is rude and disrespectful and I will never recommend this property to anyone. Everyone I speak to that lives here is moving out when lease expires. I hope this helps you make an informed decision.

This place is horrible. The staff is incompetent, unprofessional and rude. Dont fall for the move in specials. Trust me, it's not worth the headache. DO NOT MOVE HERE!

The female assistant manager (I'm guessing that's who she is) is extremely rude. She does not have the personality/social skills to be in a manager position. Every time I say hello to her in passing she ignores me and just continues about her day. Several residents have had this same issue. The apartment would be a much better experience without her in it.

Beautiful place to live in, always clean, staff is very friendly and it has one of the best downtown views.
Manager/assistant manager horrible. Very dismissive. Very rude. Very disrespectful. I expected better office staff at this price point. I made a mistake signing a lease here. I hope you don't make the same one.
