You may have heard the whispers that Echo Park is one of the hippest Los Angeles neighborhoods. Well in fact, it is – as it has many trendy bars and nightclubs to prove it.
The Echo Park community boasts more than just nightlife, though. It also boasts countless musicians, artists, actors, and families. A stone’s throw from LA’s Chinatown neighborhood, this densely populated area incorporates a number of attractions including Echo Park Lake, Dodger Stadium, and Angelino Heights.
What is it like living in Echo Park? The locals regard Echo Park as the epicenter of cool indie music and art scene. A patchwork of trendy eateries, rollicking rock bands, cocktail lounges, street murals, and hip vinyl shops make this neighborhood the epitome of “cool.” Residents enjoy the paddleboats on the lake, and the park is also the host of the annual July 4th Fireworks show.
Angelino Heights is a local gem with numerous Victorian era homes.

Property Ratings at Skyline Terrace
Don’t do it. This place has horrible management and they aren’t nice. The amenities rarely work well and they randomly change policy and charge you when you don’t notice.

Never in my life… I saw this place had some openings and they were much cheaper than what I’m paying now, so obviously I came to check it out. Scheduled a showing online and they sent me 5-6 texts confirming. I get to the property a little early (around 2:15 for a 2:30 showing) and the office looks closed. A woman comes out a door and asks if she can help me. I tell her I’m there for a showing and she says someone will be with me. Around 2:30 she raises the gate for the office. I thought maybe it was show time, but nope… she just went and disappeared in the back… to her credit she did come out and say whomever should be here shortly, but that was 20 mins ago… I have now wasted 45 mins of my time here, plus the time to write I this review… Super unprofessional, I’m happy I saw this before taking the bait of cheap rent…..
Don’t waste your money— This place charges a $200 holding fee as they review your application, saying that if they deny you or you cancel within 72 hours, you can get it back They proceeded to ignore all phone calls from us, ghost us, and not notify us of getting the place until 2 weeks, the day before we were looking to move, all to say “well you should’ve called within the 72” It’s been a year since then and they’ve still ignored calls and emails to give the refund back. LA has enough problems with terrible landlords.

If you enjoy neglectful management, people stealing your packages, and fire alarms being set off at 3 AM then this is the place for you. The place is currently being “revamped” as a luxury apartment complex. Don’t let it fool you.
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND MOVE ELSEWHERE! The views and price come at a cost. This place is the noisiest and most unpleasant community I’ve ever lived in. The front office staff is incompetent from the receptionist Samantha, who never has the answers to ANYTHING (literally gets paid to say “I don’t know,” for the entire day, on up to the property managers (Adriana and Ingrid). Neighbors? Loud. Don’t plan on peacefully enjoying living here. Walls, floors, and windows are paper thin so you can hear loud thumps, partying at 3am, running, banging, jumping, you name it. Building is structurally garbage. Noise complaints? Disregarded with minimum effort towards a resolution. Puke in the hallway near my apartment went days without being cleaned up! Maintenance staff? Incompetent also. Set up an maintenance appointment? They come and go as they please and completely disregard the time you set up. There’s always units available in which facade helps sell it. But once you move in you’ll quickly regret it and move right out! Again, save yourself the headache and your sanity and GO ELSEWHERE!
I'm new to the building and the leasing office staff is really welcoming and willing to help in any way they can. I looked at a lot of properties in the area and I really liked the staff here best because they make you feel at home. The apartment is clean, spacious and conveniently close to downtown LA.
I recently moved in late last year. I am very grateful that I did. I absolutely love it here! The bbq/pool/jacuzzi area is gorgeous and breathtaking. My apartment complex is very clean. I've had a few things that needed attention (nothing major) and management was quick about getting someone within a day to fix the issue without hesitation. I have to say that part of why I adore my living space is because of the amazing and outstanding personnel. It's fairly large complex so people can easily feel lost but not here, there is such a sense of family including how the tenants are with each other. I have to give a shout out to Dijon, Leticia, Eric, Julio, Betty, and Maria! I am sorry if I missed anyone else but these are the people that I have interacted with a great deal. I strongly believe that all of this is not possible without a strong management so more props to Dijon. <3 With love, A very happy Dee.
We've recently undergone some management changes, and I can say, that it's gone well for the most part. We have nightly security, a renovated events room, and janitors that clean the place daily. The only downfalls is the fact that the property managers are never consistently at the front desk. You can get used to someone, and the next day, they're gone. I think they need to do a better job of fielding service requests, and just requests in general. They are trying to do better... I can tell.
The price is so alluring that it can be called a trap. The first year your rent is low and then it is raised a few hundred dollars. It's still cheap for LA given you get a bathroom per bedroom, washer dryer and parking. The downside? Numerous neighbors have bed bugs, I have to get my apt sprayed bi weekly for bugs/spiders, maintenance repairs are more like coverups than anything, the elevators breakdown frequently, spotty Internet and my roommate's bedroom was flooded by another tenant and he wasn't compensated.
So far It's been great. We are enjoying the pool and the view.
Sonya the leasing manager goes out of her way to be helpful. From helping me buy a fridge from another tenant for $50, to teaching me how to format my application to the Californian bar, she makes living her simple. The value for rent, alongside the extremely friendly community have made my transition from London to LA effortless. I highly recommend it to students or to anyone that has a busy lifestyle... living here will not cause you problems. It is ten minuets from the metro station, and minuets from nightlife in downtown. I am very content.
