As one of America’s preeminent college towns, New Brunswick packs an extraordinary range of culture into a relatively small community. Rutgers University has long been the focal point of the city, and the college town vibe is especially strong around the campus: Easton Avenue and George Street cater to the student population’s appetites with restaurants, nightlife, entertainment venues, and the famous Grease Trucks. The local music scene is legendary, with performers of every description regularly packing bars and nightclubs all over town.
The city’s strong tradition in the fine arts lives on through the numerous galleries and theater companies throughout the community. And while the collegiate atmosphere is one of New Brunswick’s most dominant characteristics, things get considerably quieter in the residential areas that make up the middle portion of the city.

Property Ratings at Skyline Tower
This property is poor because upper management are not keeping the property up with the standards that they advertised initially in the brochure. I moved in 2020 and everything was shut down because of Covid-19 or so they reported, but nothing has changed in the two years that I have been living here. The security door was broken for 4 months after I moved in and still breaks frequently. It is getting stuck as of today: February 24th. Garbage room is always a mess and the staff can only do so much the tenants have to take some responsibility for their actions as well. I have not seen any rodents but I have seen gigantic roaches or water bugs. If this garbage situation continues there will be mice and rats running around in the building and in the apartments. The windows in the building are old and not insulated properly. The air come in through the windows like they are open and the outside noise is heard so clear. I've not gotten a definite answer as to how the electric bill is calculated and I have asked numerous times. It's only hear say that the electric bill is being split up and paid by the tenants. The media room has the television, but I have yet to see a DVD/CD player. Television in the Workout area doesn't work or no remote controls. This could be a beautiful property, if it was kept up. I have a lot more to say, but I am hoping that will turn around.
This property is dangerous, and it isn't changing anytime soon. I've had over $1000 dollars worth of packages stolen right out of the lobby, and management does absolutely nothing about it. I've personally walked in on criminals tearing through packages in the lobby and ripping through mail, all while management just says sorry and institutes no changes. I've had to file police reports just to try to get the building management to entertain the notion of trying to make this place safe, yet they do nothing in response and just say sorry. This place is a dangerous property to live at, and if you're a female or have children avoid living here for your own safety.
The apartment is complete and cozy, as it comes with all the major necessities. Such as, a full front load washer and dryer... That is a major perk! Because as a resident Scrap you're complaining of completing laundry when it's raining, snowing, or any other bad weather out, because it's available within your apartment. If you don't feel like washing clothes that's cool, because the bill that has a contract with a laundry service. Kudos! Want to live an active lifestyle? Great, you can utilize the gym on the premises...save money while losing weight! The apartments are kind of spacious, and if you don't want to entertain within your actual apartment inquire about the media room that has a large flat-screen, multiple seats for lounging, tables, water cooler, & mini fridge. That's the best way to host a group of friends without the traffic in your personal space. What more could you ask for? I don't care who you are or how old you are, NO ONE enjoys taking out the trash. However, the pretty ok thing is that each floor has its own trash room where you can dispose of recyclables and a trash chute. Now that beats hauling trash to the curb. There are so many other great things I could say about living here.
