Property Ratings at Skyview Towers
This property has multitude of issues. First, Roach infestation is a MASSIVE issue. The woodside building is overrun with roaches. No matter how much you clean, disinfect, and spray they still appear. They are everywhere!! I have pictures of several big roaches just in the hallway alone. It’s a daily struggle. Second, Rodents are living within the walls. You hear them while waiting for the elevator. You see the holes and destruction they make and see them and their partner in crime (roaches) in your unit and the refuse room. Management just patches the holes with foam, and it appears as if it’s a beehive in the ceilings and duct tape to hold the rubber floor trim together. (FYI) They Only had the garage chute cleaned once. They need to do that every 6 months because it’s a congregation for the pest. Third, water damage/leakage in hallways and apartments. I cannot express the number of repairs the building needs. If you walk pass the building you can see there are holes in the lower balconies (doesn’t look safe). One day coming home I almost got water dumped on me. A female on the first floor was using a bucket or a similar object to dump access water over the flooded balcony onto the sidewalk. I have witnessed her several times doing this when it’s raining. If I was her, I would report it to the city. Fourth, the parking gate is broken, and management will not repair it because it is too expensive. My question is," where is our parking fee going to? " Fifth, No air-condition in units and no window screens. They only have built-in slots for your air-conditioner. Furthermore, the box/sleeve where you would place your air-conditioner are big, old-fashioned and deteriorating. Insects come in and its poorly insulated. Meanwhile, I can’t have some of my windows open for fresh air because I have no window screen to keep insects out. Finally, the package/ mailbox area is atrocious. It's not secure and it's a mess. Mailboxes are difficult to open. I would recommend replacing the old mailboxes with new ones and enclosed the area and place a code/ keypad where only tenants and delivery personnel have access. Maybe have a security or doorman throughout the day. Overall, the building in woodside needs an extreme makeover. The Plus side…Location. Parking fee and rent are ideal. Most important the cleaning crew and superintendent do the best they can considering what they are up against, which is a lot!
Should’ve seen the warning signs with all the foam in the apartment walls and a few dead roaches in the hallway. But it was during the hot months so it’s not unusual to see roaches here and there. But now… I have caught 5 lil mice. I’ve been renting in different places for a few years and never once had an issue with mice until I moved into this building. It’s a huge issue. I’d spoken with other tenants and they also have had issues with these lil cute Rodents. I am counting down for my lease to be up to leave. The building needs a major Renovation. Hallway titles and molding are falling apart, mice around, mail boxes are hard to open, the updates are cheap and poorly installed. Do not rent from this place! You better off somewhere else. It’s a shame too because the apartments are a good size and the location is good.
I’ve been living there for 5 years, moves in with a “security guard” now no one even watches the cameras. A couple of weeks ago a man on the 8th floor kisses my hand in the elevator And I have to defend myself as a 60 year old woman. UNSAFE! Move in at your own risk!
