About Slate
The Central Eastside of Portland is currently undergoing a generational transformation from a series of vacant buildings and empty lots to a neighborhood that unites community and commerce. Slate is at the center of that transformation. The buildings top six floors offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments that feature open living spaces and attractive appliances. Slates staggered façade incorporates large windows that draw fresh air and abundant natural light into each apartment. The building achieves high standards for energy efficiency and is LEED certified. Perched above the eastern bank of the Willamette River, Slates upper floors offer dramatic views of Portlands landmark bridges, the downtown skyline, the West Hills, and Mt. Hood. The building has an underground garage with 42 parking spaces for cars, a first-rate bike facility, and secure, covered racks for up to 130 bikes. Sitting at the intersection of two active transportation corridors, Slate is one of the most accessible locations in the Portland region. The Portland Streetcar and four Trimet bus lines run directly in front of the site and tenants can take a quick walk or bike ride to downtown Portland and the citys vibrant Central Eastside. For longer trips, on-ramps to I-5 and I-84 lie just blocks away.
Slate is an apartment community located in Multnomah County and the 97232 ZIP Code. This area is served by the Portland School District 1j attendance zone.

Nestled along the Willamente River, opposite of downtown, Central Eastside is one of Portland’s most popular destinations for art, dining, entertainment, and nightlife. The river adds a burst of natural beauty among the urban landscapes of Portland. Eastbank Esplanade has impressive skyline and river views for walkers, bikers, and photographers to enjoy. Skateboarders frequent Burnside Skatepark, a community-built skateboarding destination tucked under the Burnside Bridge with vibrant graffiti murals. Originally a warehouse and manufacturing district, Central Eastside has transformed into a highly sought-after area. This neighborhood is filled with art studios and galleries, hip breweries, laid-back coffee shops, eclectic bars, thrilling live entertainment venues, and more.
Central Eastside is widely known for its diverse, award-winning dining scene. You can taste flavors and textures from every cuisine.

Property Ratings at Slate
Very few quality amenities. The “gym” is terrible. You can’t even call it a gym. There’s a reason they don’t even show it in any pictures. No rooftop lounge. No sauna, jacuzzi, etc. Limited paid street parking. The concrete floors are impossible to clean if that is important to you. Everything in the immediate area has a massive homeless presence including the closest gas station and Walgreens. Vehicle break-ins and bike theft in the small garage that costs $275 per month. The mail area has had package theft because they leave packages literally lying on the floor in the lobby……IN PORTLAND. There are around 20 there right now. For what they charge for rent here, there are MUCH better options in MUCH better neighborhoods within a short drive from here. Especially if work downtown. After living here, I honestly recommend avoiding this property.
I Love the building. Centrally located and walking distance to some of our favorite spots, a huge plus for us! The slate team was super responsive and our cross-country move was pretty seamless.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review of life at Slate and our team! We're happy you landed at Slate after your cross-country move, and that you found a place that suits your lifestyle.
I was one of the first tenants to move into Slate 3 years ago. I was drawn to the modern open living design, views in all directions, the proximity to downtown, multiple bus lines and the PDX streetcar. The east end of the Burnside Bridge is developing at our doorstep. New cafes, shops, restaurants, spas, services and bars have opened within blocks of our building. A great management team runs the building and maintenance has been top notch. The building is safe, secure, quiet and pet friendly. Highly recommend!

Wow, 3 years! We are so happy that you've enjoyed your time at Slate. As Portland develops, we are excited to be central to it all so folks can truly enjoy everything that Portland offers.
We love our apartment and building location. Design touches create a great modern aesthetic and a bright and warm home. Apartment is quiet, even in a bustling neighborhood. Property service is not on site, but close by and helpful. We love living within walking distance of some of the best bars and restaurants in Portland, including hidden gems in the warehouse district. It’s also cool to be next door to Burnside Skatepark and Knot Springs.
