If you’re looking for peaceful, small town living while still being in reach of a big city, Cleveland might be worth your time. A sleepy East Texas city with a population hovering around 8,000, Cleveland provides a peaceful setting for those who have had enough of the hustle and bustle, or just want to be close to Sam Houston National Forest.
There’s a mix of older homes and newly renovated houses and apartments in Cleveland, with most offerings concentrated near the southern edge of the city. This isn’t a town for those looking for endless entertainment and a buzzing downtown district. Cleveland has a few big-box stores and chains to take care of most things, plus a few popular local spots like Duke’s Bar-B-Que.
The real draw is the nearby national forest, providing acre upon acre of space to hike, camp, fish, and hunt in. Luckily, Houston is just an hour south via the I-69 should you need a night out.

Property Ratings at Sleepy Hollow Apartments
"I moved to “Sleepy Hollow “ a year and a half ago. I love “Sleepy Hollow” because it is a friendly community. I feel like it is home , not an apartment complex. I am retired and it feels like family . “Sleepy Hollow “ has a wide range of demographics: young professionals, families, retired folks. The management and staff continuously strive to meet or exceed expectations. The grounds are beautifully and meticulously maintained weekly. The management team is very proactive and before you can even mention something they have already taken care of what needs to be done. "Maintenance Crew responds quickly and gets the job done." Clean up, when they complete task. Wonderful men with a smile on their face at all times. Always very helpful. Make ready- wonderful woman. This is my “HOME” I love it. - [ ] Very Happy Tenant DG ??
The ladies in this apartment office are dolls and very helpful. The maintenance on this property is great too. I have no complaints it is a great place to live. I have a washer and dryer in my apartment that is gold to me, no laundry mat for us.
I have been here for two years, I love living here, the office employees are dolls and the maintenance team is great
This complex is a joke. They claim to be pet friendly but you're only allowed to walk your pet in one area, that doesn't even belong to the complex mind you, and heaven forbid your dog use the restroom elsewhere. Even if you pick it up, you'll still be charged a $50 fine. We lived there almost two years and had all kinds of problems with other tenants and the parking situation is horrible. Good luck getting out of your vehicle if anyone is parked next to you and ADA accessible handicap spots, I don't think they know what that is. We paid to get out of our LAST month because we bought a house, busted our ashes to clean, shampooed the carpet, you couldn't even tell anyone lived there except for nail holes in the wall and a few marks on the wall that got painted over anyway. The office staff is a joke. If you're not one of their favorites, good luck. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
