Edgewood is a suburban neighborhood about five miles west of Denver’s city center. It’s such a shame to leave a 1-star review because the apartments have so much potential. Under the right management, this complex can be an incredible place to live. Current management, however, is atrocious. Trying to get in contact with the office is near impossible. They don’t answer their phones or emails nor do they return voicemails. Maintenance spends most of their time driving around the complex on golf carts rather than completing work orders. If you have a pet, expect them to pocket the $400 pet deposit and charge you for pet cleaning when you move out. Graystar provides no explanation on what they do with that $400 you paid for your pet at move in. They charge you to “clean” up after your pets at move out, yet, they do not properly clean the apartments in between renters. We lived in two different apartments while living at Sloans Lake Apartments and they were not properly cleaned before we moved in. This was especially disturbing since we were moving during the COVID pandemic. Parking is not monitored - guests and cars from the complex across the way are often taking the spots at Sloans Lake Apartments. If you want a guaranteed parking spot, you have to pay an additional monthly fee. Like I said, it is such a shame because these apartments have a great location with loads of potential. They focus too much on how the complex looks to potential new residents and let the inside of the apartments whither away. We do not and never will recommend living at Sloans Lake Apartments as long as they are managed by Graystar. They will pocket your money, create extra fees for you to pay, and not provide for their residents as they should.

I would not recommend living in this apartment complex. The complex relies on cheap and easy fixes instead of resolving issues at the source of the problem. They are not transparent or honest about the severity of situations, nor are they accommodating any inconveniences a tenant is experiencing. Communication is poor, and any conflict and they will blatantly ignore your emails.

Good locatiion and pretty on the outside but issues once locked in
Up until recently I did enjoy living here, mostly because of location. Recently discovered a leak in my kitchen that turns out was coming from my upstairs neighbors and flowing into my kitchen. Turns out it was mold from accumulation over a period of time and we've been breathing it in. Now I'm dealing with a multiple visit restoration with people in and out during the holidays, my birthday, and COVID-19 worst times. My kitchen is torn up so can't really cook with half a kitchen and no dishwasher or garbage disposal. I lost my job back in April due to being laid off during COVID, but when I had to renew my lease because we could no longer move, they hiked up fees on mediocre amenities and maintenance where nothing has been enhanced. Even when you pay rent on time or renew your lease, no upgrades are offered or plumbing checks. This is my experience after being a good tenant who pays on time despite having to put up with loud rowdy and domestic violence neighbors upstairs for 2 years! I suggest looking elsewhere if you are going to pay high rent to live close to Denver. Just another corporate leasing complex all about moving people in and out to meet numbers. Guess so long as THEY don't have to live in it.

Walls and floors have dents and damage done. Walls are paper thin, wooden patio decks arent sealed together so any dirt, water, snow, etc. leaks down from your upstairs neighbors patio, jacuzzi is tiny, AC is loud and creeky, and paint on walls is cracking and chipping.

My experience at Sloans lake apartment community is hands-down the best Ive had in an apartment complex in the Denver metropolitan area. The inside of the apartments are individualized, unique and characteristic. Certainly not the bland builder grade that seems to be popping up quickly across this area. In Sloans lake apartments there is a true sense of community and leasing staff and maintenance staff are very nice and super positive to work with. If you are looking for an apartment dont look any further than Sloans Lake Apartments! It is a perfect mix of older and solid build that means the apartments are super quiet, with new and awesome upgrades!!! The character rock wall fireplace is the coolest and the layouts are perfect! The leasing team is really nice and the maintenance team is fast and respectful of your space.

I have lived in a few different apartments in the Denver Metro Area and have never lived in a better managed property! If there is a need maintenance is fast, nice and listen to whats going on. They take the time to talk to residents and it is so meaningful that they take the time to talk, pet and interact with my dog. Very cool apartments that have character and are quiet!

I love my apartment! The floors are amazing and it is hard to find an apartment with character. The beautiful fireplace rock wall, vaulted ceilings and skylight make my apartment so cool and unique. Seriously a great place, quiet and good community. The area is great for quick access to Colfax and highways 6, 25, 70 and even 76. If you are looking for charm, quiet and good access this is the place!

Sloan's Lake is a good "in-between" community. If you are in-between buying a house and need someplace better than a high crime area, it is great. If you don't want anyone messing with your car, you may want to look elsewhere as it's common here. Otherwise, crime is low. There is mostly room to park. My floor has peeled up too many times for my liking, so be wary of the vinyl flooring.

Current resident, so my review is of the new management who has turned this community around!
This apartment complex is awesome! Great neighborhood-- easy access to everything-, grocery stores, parks, highways. They are beautifully remodeled, but the stone fireplace remains my favorite! This is the most dog friendly complex I've experienced, with not only our own dog run, but a professional grade "dog spa" so you can wash and groom your pet, complete with dog treats. We have security that monitors our complex, parking spots in a covered garage, online portals for convenience to pay rent or request maintenance--and our supers are really good about addressing any issue you have quickly. We also have a package locker room so we can retrieve our packages at our convenience, instead of having it dropped off at the leasing office or back to the post office. The new manager, Ashley, has also put together events for the residents where you not only get to know your awesome neighbors, but we win gift cards. She's also catered chick-fil-a breakfast for the residents and she always makes sure to order my favorite coffees and creamers (free in the leasing office every day!). I know that previous management has tainted the reviews of this complex and I had my hesitations at first, but trust that the new management has really stepped up the game. AND my dogs love her, so their judgment can't be wrong.

They suck
I hate this place. They are shysters. They are ran by a big property management who dont care if their tenants are happy or not. My apartment was filthy they didnt clean it.The hot tub and pool are filthy. The people in the office are rude bad neighborhood. If there were a choice of zero stars this place would get it. Even the picture on the website is deceiving. DONT RENT HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY!!!!!!!! You will regret it. Ive only been here 3 months and i do

Mostly Positive Experience
Overall, this property is a nice place to live. First, the negatives - If you live on the second floor, you will hear literally every step the person above you takes, especially if they are the stomping type. The person below you will also be heard, especially if they listen to hip-hop music. The bass will drive you insane. The management is nice. They treat you very respectfully. However, they are strictly by the book. Rules are strictly enforced - no ifs, ands, or buts. The property is clean and well-maintained. Maintenance requests are handled promptly, as long as you don't need anything on the weekends. My air conditioning stopped working. I had to wait until Monday to get it fixed, in spite of the fact that the temperatures were in the 90s. That is a violation, if I'm not mistaken. Overall, I would live here again. The units are very functional, and I like the lay-out of the apartments. The neighbors are nice, and I feel safe overall. There are much worse places you can live.

Sloan's Lake, Aug 2015
I just moved into this apartment complex and it's wonderful. The entire complex is well maintained and up to date (units are newly updated/remodeled, pool is clean and quiet, landscaping is well groomed, parking is secure, and the complex is quiet and feels safe). The management has been very helpful and made sure my unit was clean and fully repaired before I moved in. I would definitely recommend these apartments.

Terrible Management
I just moved into this place yesterday, and I am already having problems. Upon move in, there was no door covering my water heater, so it's the first ugly sight you see when you walk into my apartment. Aside from that, my kitchen sink was backed up and I had NO HOT WATER. When I called to complain, the office person not only did not apologize for the condition of my apartment, but she actually blamed me for not calling the emergency line. Not only is it completely unacceptable that I can not take a hot shower at my apartment, but the fact that the management refuses to take responsibility for that is absurd. When you pay a deposit to move in to a new place, it is expected to be in Move-in/live-in condition and that was clearly not the case here. Hopefully they get some better management in this place because I think (or thought) it could be a decent place to live otherwise.

Office Staff Needs Management Supervision
The units are very nice and well cared for. It is a quiet neighborhood and convenient location. There should be a full time manager on site. The staff does not communicate resident concerns to the management.
